Our initial experience suggests it is a capable platform for our e-discovery needs. The platform is easy to navigate, help resources are comprehensive, and support representatives have been both professional and responsive. We believe GoldFynch will continue to be a solution for our firm's future document management needs. Pros High on the list of pros is the fair value and flexibility for managing data hosting costs for our clients. In addition, building complex search terms are easy with the built-in search tools, and there are multiple options for production output parameters allowing us to meet case-specific requirements. Cons We are continuing to become familiar with the platform, but it seems that additional sort order options, including multi-level sorting, for document review would be helpful (e.g. by tag, by file path, email message followed by attachments). I needed help getting up to speed fast and I really appreciated the quick online training and ongoing support provided by the GoldFynch team. Pros This is a powerful, easy to learn, eDiscovery tool at an affordable price point for a small law office. Since you pay per case instead of having to buy an expensive subscription, I feel GoldFynch really levels the playing field. I could not have managed the volume of data for trial without it. Cons Initial data upload was a little tricky at first, but I did figure it out after a few tries and the support team was there to quickly assist. I have become a better paralegal, litigation clerk, legal assistant because of GoldFynch and the support team. Pros Such a powerful tool. Searching, sorting, filtering, tagging can be so effective. Support is very good as they answer queries quickly and are spot on with what I need help with. Cons Not too much here. Filtering has limitations. I wish you could just check the check boxes and see exactly what you want (to, from, any, and, or, etc.). The system is so powerful, it just take time to get used too. Pros GoldFynch won the case for me. I am not an attorney. The case hinged upon isolating hundreds of emails from a couple of thousand written from various email addresses over 10 years. Using GoldFynch, I digitally Bates-stamped each relevant email. No! I didn't know what a Bates number was either, but between GoldFynch and Wikipedia, I figured out how to proceed in minutes. It took me roughly 100 hours of work. There was simply no way I could have paid a paralegal to do that for such a small (but deeply personal) property dispute. In the end, my attorney needed ten hours to read the curated set, and that WAS the case: there was nothing in the relevant emails to support the accusations. All the drama evaporated, and they settled. Cons I have no complaints about GoldFynch. My case was simple, and once I figured out what Bates numbers were, the main problem was solved. The accusations were made at the same time as a ton of communications that had a totally different tone. It has proven to be very effective for my cases. Pros I enjoy its ease of use and simple interface. It is also economical. It also has great customer service which I really appreciate. Cons There is not much to complain about. This is a great product. I'm only going on here because there is a minimum required in this text box.. It fits smaller cases and the pricing is fair to our clients which is important to us. We have also used it on large cases and been pleasantly surprised. Pros Perfect for smaller cases. The tiers fit our clients and our cases much better than other platforms that we have tried. Cons If they could improve one thing, I think the search features could be a little more user friendly. They are very accurate and work well once you master the settings. I bet we saved about $15,000 last year on eDiscovery costs, and were able to use eDiscovery more extensively in small cases due to the low cost to the client. Pros Best pricing available, no sales pitch. Great documentation. Easy to teach new staff/attorneys how to use the platform. We needed something streamlined and self-serve. Cons I only have a minor gripe, and that's just that there's no pop-up review window, which is nice for folks running dual monitors. However, our needs are actually really simple for most cases (basic review of emails & PDFs) and it's very annoying to have to go through a manager to upload/download/export documents and other basic functions. GF won both on pricing but for me, the self-serve nature of GF with the documentation to do everything, made it the winner by FAR.
