They PROACTIVELY reach out if they see you try something and it wasn't completed, to make sure you don't need assistance. Absolutely the best customer support I have ever seen. Pros I like that they are actually invested in helping nonprofits. They tailor their platform to the needs of non-profits. And they're just awesome people to work with! Cons NOTHING! There is absolutely NOTHING negative. I love Zeffy! I think more non-profits should use Zeffy! Switched from [PayPal](https://www.capterra.com/p/207944/PayPal/) CONSTANT 'updating' terms to the benefit of PayPal and the DETRIMENT of the nonprofit. Like charging their fees EVEN IF the donor was refunded. For example - an emergency fundraiser gets held for an animal needing urgent surgery. The animal dies and only a fraction of the cost is incurred so donors are offered to get their donations back. MOST will refuse and say put it towards the mission but often donors felt like they were just supporting THAT animal and ask for the money back. Not only does PayPal keep the TRANSACTION FEE (which I totally agree with that) but they keep the PERCENTAGE. If someone donates $1000, the fee is $20.80. So if the donor wants a refund, PayPal KEEPS that "percentage" even though 1.99% of $0 is $0. So the nonprofit PAYS $20 t PayPal for... nothing. Review Source DAVID C. Manager Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Saving Time and Money" January 29, 2026 5.0 Zeffy has been the major fundraising platform for The Llama Sanctuary since 2024 and it has made a huge difference to the administration. Previously, we used Mailchimp for email campaigns, Events for event booking and guided tours and separate fundraising platforms. All of that is now condensed into one entity making life so much easier and in the process, the amount of money saved in fees each year is enough to pay the feed bill for entire month! Oh! Did I mention it is absolutely free to use? Pros Zeffy is constantly improving, updating and enhancing the tools and the support team actually listens to requests and implements new features all the time. There has never been an issue with the finance aspect and The Llama Sanctuary can count on receiving a payout, on the dot, every week. Cons At the moment, Zeffy lacks some of the refinements and tools that bespoke email platforms, event organisers and online stores can offer. The email creation element is still a bit crude and clunky and site navigation can be counter-intuitive (to me at least). April 8, 2026 5.0 Zeffy is a homerun for all non-profits! It's very easy to use. When you have questions, the staff is very responsive. You won't regret using Zeffy! Pros We currently use a paid CRM (which we are cancelling soon), and are converting all our records to Zeffy. We have used it for donations and for tickets so far. The ease of use is incredible. The platform actually does MORE than the one we have been paying for. It's so incredible that its FREE! Cons I really currently don't have any cons per say. They are continuously looking for ways to improve the platform, and are open for your feedback on what your needs are, so that's really all that matters! Saving us $100s is worth a bit of extra work on my end. Pros I love that Zeffy is a user friendly, intuitive platform with a very small learning curve. We use it to fundraise for our PTA and it helps us put all of the money we raise, back into our school, instead of paying credit card fees. We have already saved over $200 in just 2 months due to not paying all of the fees we would pay on most other platforms. Also, the chat option has helped me find exact information in reports that I am looking for! Cons I wish I could filter and sort the reports a bit easier as far as custom questions go. We are using this for our PTA and the reports get a bit complicated when we are asking for student's names and their teacher. I also am confused by getting one email (not sure how) and then getting a second different email that the user manually types in....? I love that the funds are automatically transferred on Mondays - no more manual transferring. Pros Well, no one can ignore the FREE part of their service. I am currently using them for 3 nonprofits of which I am treasurer: Hooksett Area Rotary Club, NH Gift-A-Meal, and Friends of the Hooksett Library. Zeffy is super easy to use, and we get to keep all of the donations. Setting up campaigns is very easy. Cons The initial setup is a bit tedious because of all the integrations you need to make with Stripe, but it's still very easy to do. It’s really quite user friendly and self explanatory though! Overall we have had a great experience! Pros Zeffy has LOTS of options for non profits. We are a new non profit that supports our small school district, and we weren’t really sure what we were doing when we started fundraising. So far Zeffy is the only thing we have used, so we don’t know any different and we will not be changing because it has everything we need! Love that it sends out tax receipts for us automatically. Love alllllll the amazing settings for hosting an event and selling tickets- whole tables, early bird tickets/tickets with different release dates, etc. So many options to customize it to just what you need. And most of all, it doesn’t cost us a DIME so that all of our funding goes right to our mission! It's a relief to be out from under the clunky and exorbitantly priced Eventbrite. Pros It's very simple to use, the interface is elegant, and the export options are excellent. With no fees it's also incredibly cost-effective at a time when every dollar counts. And we love that it's Canadian. Cons The automatic addition of a Zeffy donation is something it feels necessary to warn buyers about, but we haven't had any complaints. And the character cap on titles is a bit of a challenge for getting all the pertinent info in the bold type. April 30, 2026 4.0 I was a first timer using it, but it went so well that I would not hesitate to use it again or recommend it to my non-profit friends. The support was probably the biggest positive. The learning curve was probably the least favorite. Maybe AI will help them come up with a better, more automated system. I found myself asking myself, "How do I do that?" but again support was quick and helpful Pros Obviously, it was free. I was concerned and didn't really believe it, but it was true. They make their money from ticket buyers leaving a donation. It provided LOTS of feedback about your sales, your ticket purchasers and more. Cons The learning curve was a little steep for a first timer, but I can't say enough good things about the speed and quality of the support. One time, they even recorded and sent me a video of exactly how to solve my problem. Another time, they just fixed it for me! I think if they automated the signup process by asking you a list of questions and then have it set up for you, that would be good. September 17, 2025 5.0 We were looking for a new campaign management service and I specifically wanted something easy to use from a technology side. We had our first event up and going within 15 minutes - great landing page, text link available to send to our Board Members and donors, automated email response to event participants, event ticket receipts emailed directly with QR codes, and more - all for free. Pros Zeffy's platform is incredibly easy to use and 100% free! The onboarding process is simple, and we already have funds being deposited into our account from the fundraising campaign we created. Love the look of everything we've created for our campaign with Zeffy - text link landing page for our event, email responses to participants, and more. Very easy to create beautiful landing pages for fundraising campaigns and emails. We also now have a database of attendees from our event and can easily keep in touch for future events. Cons Nothing. Everything has been wonderful and completely free. We have yet to find anything that we would recommend as a change and usually there's always some area to improve - not with Zeffy. Very short learning curve. The ability to collect funds for free without the trouble of collecting and depositing checks or cash was the strongest selling point. Cons We were collecting dues in $30 increments. The default fee to the members was relatively high. September 10, 2025 5.0 Positive, fulfilling, no worries, I know they have my back. Very responsive, almost in real time, which is unheard of these days. Pros Zeffy has a lot going for it. The platform is robust, easy to navigate, and full of excellent features. New donations/sales are reported as they occur, a summary of new transactions is provided weekly along with all transactions to date, and a deposit notice is also provided weekly. Communications are terrific, with a live human response usually within an hour or two. And any suggestions I have made to improve the experience have been accepted quickly and sent to the creative department. Cons I can't think of anything, which even amazes me. We attended two seminars and have picked up some great ideas for our website, fundraising actions, and what current trends are in the world of donations. Cons Sometimes looking for answers, isn't as intuitive as Zeffy's "bot" thinks it is. I'm still puzzled by the 'Tap to Pay' concerns that I have and waiting to figure things out. If you’re skeptical about their business model, we can tell you there are no catches or loopholes on the financial side — they took zero percent of our fundraising income. My board is really pleased with the auto-renewal functionality, and with how seamless it has been. Pros You can't beat their business model - allowing donors to tip (or not) has helped our organization tremendously. Saving 3%+ in PayPal, Stripe, and Venmo fees adds up. The forms are simple to set-up, the connection with our bank was flawless, payouts happen weekly without any issue, and I can easily integrate the payment forms into our Squarespace-based website. We are going to start using Zeffy for events and I'm excited and hopeful that our volunteers will have an easy seamless experience. As for connectivity, we can easily export transactions into our Quickbooks platform, but given how payouts happen as lump-sums, it was a little tedious for our treasurer to have to manually split the payout transaction, so he's entering things manually. The export function works just fine to import data into our donations database (Monday.com). Cons The Zapier integration to link to Monday hasn't been successful yet- but we are going to work on it. Our Monday.com database has donor names as one field, I wish Zeffy had a way to do that automatically (combine Fname+space+Lname). I had to use Excel as an intermediate step. It's scrappy, efficient, yet still looks pretty (enough) for newsletters and donation pages. The "thank you" personalization is a nice touch. Also love the "make this donation in honor of" feature. Maybe make that a bit more prominent? Pros It's truly free. That is rare since there always seem to be hidden costs. Other platforms like Give Butter deduct Stripe transaction fees or allow the donor to cover those. Zeffy covers them for nonprofits and gives donors an option to support Zeffy, but they aren't forced to and no one loses. Nonprofits get the full donation amount, no strings attached. Cons The email distro template could be improved. The donate button colors are always off in preview and test emails. Also, there's no way to hyperlink photos, only text-based links are allowed.
