Through another donation platform, I once had a donation of $1250 and only received $1213 because of credit card fees. Zeffy is great because it allows all of my donated funds to go toward my ministry! I also have used Zeffy for several raffles and have created an online store. It was easy to use and customize. Honestly, all nonprofits should use Zeffy and receive their full donation amounts! Cons There really are no cons. If a nonprofit organization does not mind receiving their funds once a week to their bank account, there is nothing to complain about. By having everything on Zeffy, I can take care of so many things in just one place, and in a more intuitive way than some other platforms. The staff have been helpful and friendly. Seriously, Zeffy has saved my sanity and renewed my ability to focus more on the work I do rather than scattering my energy every which way. Pros I love how Zeffy has made my work life so much easier in many ways. I can manage my email list, send messages to different segments, tag individuals and their interests, sell tickets to events, collect membership fees, and track income and engagement throughout. Best of all, I can do all of this (and more) without having a portion of our income being snatched up by a supposed 'ally' of non-profit organizations. Cons There is nothing that I dislike about Zeffy. I love that they have regular introductory workshops that you can join to learn how to use the platform. It still took me a little bit of time to learn some of the ins and outs of the program, but I feel confident that, if I had a question, they would answer it quickly. Since most people like to use credit cards instead of the old days of paying for cash, this has opened up so much to us. Zeffy support is always available either by email, online chat, zoom training or actual voice calls. It is a totally great platform that we tell everyone about. Pros \- FREE for non-profit organizations and for the donators - Great for selling items, such as pinwheels or dinner tickets, without either side paying a fee - Many payment options: Google Pay, Apple Pay, Credit Cards, Debit Cards. (Organizations do not need to know how a donor pays) - The payments get deposited either monthly or weekly into the organization’s bank account - QR Codes are easy to set up to link to your event for customers to click right to your site. - The organization gets an Excel File with all the information they asked for to plan the event. Cons \- Payments are transferred into the organization’s account either weekly or monthly automatically, and cannot be held in the Zeffy account until the event is complete. That just made for 3 payments into the bank for the treasure to track our pinwheel sales instead of one with the money we would not have been able to raise without taking online credit payments. - Donor must enter an email and name to donate using Zeffy, and some do not want to enter that information. It is used to send them a tax-deductible receipt, so it does not matter what they type in since we get the money even if they do not provide an accurate email. This information is also used to email a ticket for an event if an organization wants to have someone turn in a ticket to enter an event. It is still easier to email a ticket instead of making people come in person to get a ticket for an event. Pros As a small nonprofit educational group, we needed a way to digitize our ticket sales without losing money on fees. Zeffy was the obvious choice, and we've been very happy with not only how easy it is to set up events and ticketing, but how quickly we are paid out as well. Cons There are a few minor issues, but overall it is an excellent product for us. I do wish that there was some sort of search function on Zeffy for people who wanted to find our organization but didn't have the direct link. I stated using it to save us money (or, rather, to be able to keep more of our donations). But immediately became a convert and now find myself telling everyone about it. If you’re a nonprofit… this has to be your donation portal. Pros What initially attracted me was the no credit card / online processing fees for donations. But there are no fees for ANYTHING. The way they make money works for them and I’m a huge fan. But beyond that (and that was enough) — EVERYTHING is fantastic from the immediate setup time to the ease of use to their phenomenal customer service … the “savings” are way more than just not losing money to credit card companies. It saves TIME and is so elegant and easy to use. Cons It’s hard to find something bad to say but I think the UI could be improved based on user feedback. It’s by no means bad and I like that it’s simple. It could potentially be laid out a little more logically but if nothing changed I wouldn’t have any problems. Director, Membership Libraries Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Looking Into Using Zeffy Is Worth Your Time and Effort - you won't be disappointed" August 19, 2023 4.0 Pros The features that was most important were the ability to offer existing members pre-populated forms that made it easy for them to renew annual memberships by paying dues and making donations on-line. This replaced our legacy system that was painful to the membership because it forced them to fill out a form with the same info they gave us last year and then mail it to us. Cons The ability to arrange the information presented on the forms is somewhat limited so the process flow did not match our existing process. An example was the form for a renewal customer required them to answer first how what donation they wanted to make the Historical Society over and above the dues. Then the form asked them to choose whether they wanted an Individual or Family Membership. This sequence should be reversed. October 26, 2022 5.0 Overall the experience has been very good for a free platform that lets us save cc fees. It honestly does more than I thought it would, and we've been happy with it. If Zeffy charged for the platform or cc fees, we would look at comparable platforms. The great thing about Zeffy is that there literally is no comparable platform. EVERYONE charges fees except them. They seems too good to be true, but they're not! Pros Most people thought Zeffy was too good to be true. I begged them to let us try based on reviews from reputable sources like Capterra. We are SO glad we found Zeffy. It's provides more than I hoped for in terms of a platform, and it saves us so much in terms of credit card fees. Cons There are definitely things we've run into that could be more convenient, but we've always been able to fix user errors on the back end or rework things to compensate. The biggest annoyance that we've run into is that once you sign up for a volunteer slot on an event, you can't change it. Zeffy was there to respond to those needs and more. Overall the experience was smoother and more tailored to our needs than any services we have used in the past. Pros Zeffy's features and functionality most closely matched our needs, and the fact that there were no fees taken from donations was a huge bonus. It was easy to learn and use, and the customer support was excellent and attentive. With the help of Zeffy my organization was able to meet our ambitious fundraising goal. Cons There was a bit of muddiness in sorting out the event registration vs. become a fundraiser vs. donation functions for some users, so there seems to be something lacking in the clarity of some of these processes and how they are communicated to users (I would have to spend time looking into and asking users for this feedback to be more precise). There was also a technical issue with the site within the first few days of the fundraiser; it did get resolved within a reasonable amount of time but added a lot of stress and extra work on the part of the organizers to deal with the inquiries that came as a result. A brief note of my background: two companies I have worked for, had created their own technologies and I was the one selected to demo our technologies to our prospective clients and to travel to our current client's facilities to troubleshoot, which is why I look at technology with a critical eye and a forward-thinking mindset. Zeffy passed both my "eye and mind tests" and we could not be happier in choosing them for our donation platform! Pros Zeffy is easy to set up and easy to use for our back-office teams and our clients. We receive 100% of all of our donations. Their event management is EXACTLY what we were looking for and we plan to begin utilizing it later this year. Their help desk is responsive and truly helpful. Not sure if you have ever been sent to a "helpless" desk for problem-solving, which for us is quite frustrating. Zeffy's customer support has been exceptional! Cons We would like for any video to play on the donation screen (where you have the option to select your logo or a video). Currently, Zeffy is only set up to support a short video from YouTube and obviously, our videos are "not short enough", so we cannot play our video, so we display our logo. Once I set it set up, everything went smoothly. We’ll be using it for more events in the future. I found being able to sell tickets online to be a huge help, in the time it takes and also for planning purposes. And we also now have a list of people who bought tickets with their contact information for future events (which we didn’t necessarily have prior to using Zeffy). Thank you Zeffy! Pros No cost to our service organization and no cost to our customers. Easy to set up, easy for our organization to get paid. Easy for our customers to go to the site and buy tickets. Cons There were a number of times when I had questions about the set up or how to make changes after we were up and running. But there was no one manning the chat feature and when I left a message it took 1-2 days for a Zeffy person to get back to me. When they did I was not near my computer or I had already spent a bunch of time trying to figure it out myself (and being frustrated). I did appreciate that you got back to me to answer my questions. It would be much more helpful if the help was more readily available. I’d love it if the chat feature was truly live, at least during regular business hours. That would be a huge help.
