When I first began using this product, I needed some customer support on an issue and they were so quick to respond and they let me know that they would be available 24/7 to help with any other questions that I may have. You can't beat customer service like that. Pros I like that I am not held to a contract if it didn't work as I expected. Luckily, it works just as I need it to but that was a big factor in using authorize.net. I am glad I made that investment Cons I think having to pay a monthly gateway fee is a con but not enough of a con to keep me from using this service. Review Source KD Kristi D. These are the most important factors for me and my practice. Pros it integrates with my EMR, Patients can pre pay when they make their appointment. There is a subscription/reoccuring model that can be used. Cons I feel the dashboard is pretty complicated. I struggle often to find certain transactions and data. If I need to issue a refund or if I want to see a report for the month I feel there are a lot of steps just to do this,. It does seem to have security figured out which is a nice plus. Pros Authorize helps us securely capture payment from customers on our eCommerce customer facing site that is a partnership with our fulfillment business. It is easier to use than our home grown software for the end user for sure. Cons We need separate accounts for US and Canadian payments. This means that we have to log in and out depending on the ship destination. It's also not the most user friendly on the back end. Review Source DS David S. I have not "upgraded" to the new user interface and don't plan to if I don't have to. Pros I use the services provided by authorize.net every single day. The service allows me to securely accept credit cards through my online store. I feel the security is top notch and the fees are very resonable and a good value for the money. Customer service is quick and knowledgeable. Cons Although I use authorize.net every day, I am not happy witht eh new user interface. What was possible in one screen is now spread out into mutliple screens. It is pretty but the old User interface was much more useful. " December 5, 2025 5.0 We enjoyed using them - always great customer service and issues resolved - money was always transferred to the bank account and account managing and log in were easy to use! Pros We were able to intergrade with our software at a cheaper rate. Easy log in and easy to run reports for members and sales. Cons We were unable to charge 3% to the customer for online transactions. January 15, 2026 5.0 This is a nightmare industry to get a chargeback on a coast-to-coast transport job. I rely on this gateway since it is solid secure. It can cope with our day-to-day traffic without stuttering despite the arrangement having a retro feel to the early internet days compared to today’s contenders. Pros The fraud detecting package makes me feel comfortable when handling large credit card payments done by new shippers I have never done business with before. Cons The user interface is so outdated, and it is impossible to navigate through the backend settings with the required number of clicks. With the good rates, and integration by SkyVerge for WooCommerce I can definitely recommend authorize.net Pros API access is great and there are paid plugins that make integrating with WooCommerce very easy. The also have low fees Cons Their merchant UI is very outdated. It’s hard to find things and it’s small and hard to read sometimes. Looks like it was built in the 90s and never updated. We have utilized the mobile application for 1 off transactions and have been pleased with how it works. It is not made to be your whole inventory tracker in the least bit, but it does its job for the occasional transaction. We have been using the gateway on our sites for years. We have used Magento, and WooCommerce and now Shopify for our site. We did have some issues with WooCommerce and finding plugins for the payment gateway that worked for all we needed it to. That being said, for the majority of the time it has worked. Thank you Pros It really has never failed us when utilizing the application to run transactions on the go. It has worked for us for years. Cons Integrations with WooCommerce has proven difficult at times. We have utilized the official plugin for some time, but that has recently started to have problems for us. December 15, 2019 5.0 When working with Shopify and other e-commerce solutions, I've had to get a processing gateway up and running for several clients. On occasion I've worked with businesses considered "high risk", so many processors wouldn't touch them. Authorize.Net not only enabled these risk companies to build an online presence, but the customer support team have gone above and beyond on several occasions to ensure all of my clients needs have been met. Pros Generally setup is straight forward and uneventful for e-commerce situations, fees are within average ranges. Best pro is their flexibility in working with businesses that other payment processors won't touch. Near one-click integration with some platforms. Very few issues over the years, clients have been very content and never have had issues getting in touch with their reps. Cons Setup and dashboard can be situationally daunting, but once you get up and running it's generally smooth sailing. Tools/reports interface could be cleaner and better organized. It works well and is fairly intuitive. Pros I've used Authorize.net as a payment gateway at multiple organizations. It is fairly easy to use and intuitive when it comes to basic functions like payment processing, refunds, looking up transactions. They have a live chat customer support feature which is really handy. Cons The security features can be very confusing and the resources they have for explaining them are adequate but could be a little more clear. Sometimes the instructions on their FAQs dont seem to match what I actually see on my screen, so I've had to reach out to customer support for pretty basic stuff. Luckily their customer service is pretty good.
