Venmo's appearance is really good and makes me feel good being there. There are so many options that l used myself to make it more flexible for my business to send out and receive money. There are problems with scammers and detecting them. In the end its a good website. Pros Quick, convenient payments which makes it amazing in the times l really need to send out money under pressure. Free to send money from a bank account or debit card which is amazing because in my country we cant send money internationally so using venmo to make my payments international has made my experiences much more flexible. Low fee for credit card payments which is rare to find because everyone wants a commision and it is really good that you also have compassion for your customers. The website can pay for purchases at select businesses that l choose without me going there physically. Offers a debit card and a credit card that is international which makes it easier for me to make payments with websites that dont offer e-wallets. Adds a social element to sending and receiving money making it more user freindly and more appealing view. Cons Payments are public by default and this makes me feel a little uncomfortable knowing people know about financial part of my business. This will probably make it easy for internet crimes to happen. Can't cancel payments which is fastrating because i do make mistakes when l am entering infomationa and l look aheadcand l cant go back. This is making me give out unnecssary payments not meant for those people. Popular with scammers and this is making it harder to detect who is real to work with and whos not. I love seeing what each person labels their transactions as well as being able to label my own to make them as clear and concise or even as entertaining as I’d like. Venmo also makes transferring money to and from the mobile app a breeze. Cons My only piece of feedback for Venmo is to add more options for customization. It would great to have some options for ui other than a light mode such as dark mode or selectable color ways. Pros QR code for scanning made it much easier for funds to be transferred specially when you’re at a busy pop-up. November 21, 2021 1.0 This was the most embarrassing, cornering and defacing I have ever gone through. I only had one transaction which was a friend paying me back money he owed me for several months. The transaction was normal and pretty quick too. However, the next month I wanted to setup my Venmo account to accept payments for IT and fixing computers for people in my community. I was faced with my account saying it has been locked and blocked. I have never felt so confused. I never received an email regarding any apparent issue. When I did contact customer support they took over a week to respond to my 3 emails I sent them. Finally when they did all they told me that my account violated there service agreement. And that I should use some other company and not attempt to ask for another account. At this point I felt so lost and quite frankly depressed. They would NOT give me any reason as to why they were treating me like a lowlife. Even when I asked them how and where can I get some information as to what the "problem" was and how WE can fix it they just didn't respond again. My experience was very terrible and hurtful. I hope they read this. I think personally that there was a software issue that caused my problem. That's why I did this Review. Thank you for letting me open up and and let you know what my experience was. I really needed this let me do this. Pros I can Honestly say that the friend to friend pay or request feature was extremely fast and sufficient. Also the app was not buggy at all what so ever. And I also appreciated the simplicity and clarity of the app layout. Cons I would have to mention that their staff to customer support and or communication is absolutely terrible. Not once did they send me an email asking me to contact them about some "problem" with my account. October 27, 2021 5.0 Venmo is the original P-2-P system that I started using and it's continuously evolving to stay relevant, usable, and convenient for people to use! I have never had any issues with it and their social media team is great with outreach and connecting with users! Their referral program is also a bonus and very easy to use! Pros I enjoy the ease in which I can make monetary transactions among friends, family, and colleagues at school! If there is a fundraiser at school, it is much easier to Venmo our secretary than it is to go to the bank, get out cash at an actual ATM, and then take it to school. I also appreciate that the Venmo team is always on Twitter and other social media platforms! Cons They recently fixed it but I did feel uneasy about how easy it was for people to see my connections and payments, etc. through the app. I do appreciate the spirit behind the structuring of such a system but there's always privacy and security to consider so I'm glad they made just enough changes to offer more security and privacy. The number of people who signed up for Venmo also helps - most younger folks are on it. Cons The social aspect of the software is a bit odd in that I'm not in the least bit interested in what my friends are paying one another for. When people get funny, I suppose it could be entertaining but too much of the feed is people paying each other for rent, groceries and other mundane stuff. Pros It feels like you're sending a few bucks to a friend for their hard work on some project, EVEN when you're actually standing in a business' office. That relatable, personalized touch is extremely hard to manufacture. The system itself is great, I've never had any problems requiring customer service, you just want to keep an eye on customers to ensure they're actually clicking "submit" on payments once they show you that they're at your profile/product page. Cons Reporting/analytics is a little underdeveloped, but Venmo shouldn't be used for the big purchases that require exact analytics anyway. Pros I like how easy it is and it is also really convenient because a lot of people dont have cash and almost everyone i know has venmo so that is how we pay each other back when we happen to be out or splitting gifts, rent etc. Cons my one complaint would be the security. i personally have no had any issues security wise but i do know a couple friends who have been hacked. venmo is super responsive and fast so these issues were resolved but with anything to do with you bank info being hacked it can be a hassle. Having a way to transfer money from my debit card with an app is extremely convenient. Not only that but having a Venmo Card that doesn't even need me to transfer money to the bank is amazing. Most of the people I know with a smartphone also already own Venmo so after a meal or going to the movies, transferring money using Venmo is as simple as texting your friend's money. Pros Venmo has helped me in a countless amount of situations when dealing with money transactions. Its simplicity and ease of use allow for people who aren't as tech-savvy to transfer money without having to take a trip to the bank to go through a complicated process of transaction that could result in scams. I also think that the feature of people seeing your Venmo transactions is a cute addition to the app and adds a bit of humor along with the app instead of it looking like any ol' boring transaction app. Of course, not everyone wants their transactions seen by their peers so there is the option to turn it off. When opening the app, it requires a Face ID which adds a touch of security so anyone using your phone can't abuse the app. Adding people to your friend's list is also incredibly simple since your contacts can be added with the touch of a button and adding others requires entering a username. If you have money left in your Venmo, you can use a Venmo Card which is a debit card that directly takes money out of your Venmo account rather than your bank when purchasing anything. However, if you do not own a Venmo Card then you directly deposit your money to your bank account whenever necessary. Venmo has so many amazing features that make it a great app to use whenever you need to. Although Venmo may have not been the first money transaction application, it certainly is one of the easiest and most popular which allows for anyone to transfer money to each other. Cons Venmo has many great features and not much to improve upon. One thing to note, however, is that when transferring money from your Venmo account to your bank account, a 1% fee will be deducted when transferring INSTANTLY. But honestly, this feature does not bother me at all plus there is the option to transfer it to your bank in a couple of days with 0 fees. Although not necessary I do think they could add a faster way to transfer money. My idea was that you could use voice control such as Siri, Alexa, or Google Home and tell them to transfer money to any one of your Venmo friends. I feel like Venmo has a lot of potential for new features but I don't feel like it doesn't need to be implemented as transferring money is already easy enough. Adding a dark mode or being able to change your color scheme may also be a neat feature. Users can control the privacy settings, but it's defaulted to be public and I dont see the point other than encouraging a standard of too much personal transparency in this digital age. I also found it frustrating that Venmo could not issue me a statement on their letterhead of transactions between me and a particular person. I needed a certified document for court proceedings, and all I could get was my monthly statements which had too much irrelevant and personal information that I didn't want or need to share, or a CSV that was not admissible in court. It's easy to find your contacts, fun to send little messages and emojis about why you're paying them, and there is an incredibly fast delivery when it comes to retrieval of funds. It has made paying back friends incredibly easy. Cons There is a huge security issue with Venmo. Since the app is able to send money so quickly, if it is sent to the wrong person, customer service will not do anything to get the money back. There is also nothing preventing a kid or a stranger from accessing the app. There needs to be some sort of passcode that needs to be typed before every payment to help ensure the wrong people don't have access to all your funds. I hope more features are coming in the future, but for now it's a good tool to start using. Pros What I like is the simplicity and ease of use of Venmo. It's really easy to send money to your friends with a few taps, which is why I decided to try this. I'm using my mobile a lot and I now have a new tool that makes it a breeze to send money. Venmo does a good job here. The interface is modern, just the way I like it. I've noticed the app has been getting a lot of improvements over the past 6 months. PayPal owns it, so I actually expect a lot of Venmo in the future. Venmo is something I see myself use more frequently when the user base expands more internationally and more features are rolled out. Cons What I didn't like is that some things are shared with your contacts unless you update the default privacy settings. I feel privacy should come first, and social second, not the other way around. That being said, you can make changes in your settings, but many users won't do that or aren't aware of that. I also would like to see more cryptocurrencies included in Venmo except just a couple of the big ones. Maybe that comes in the future? It offers a safe and secure connection between my clients and me for quick and easy payment processing. It has been invaluable as a remote worker who prefers electronic payment transactions and I would highly recommend it. Pros I like that Venmo gives me a convenient, secure and trusted method to receive payments from clients. On their end, if they are already set up on Venmo, they are able to send me payment hassle-free and without worry. If they are not and would like to pay through Venmo, I can pretty easily help them get set up. On my end, I don’t have to worry about any payment or security issues. I can just request the dollar amount for my fee and quickly receive the money. Cons This is a relatively minor issue, but I’ve had occasionally complaint from clients that they have had issues searching for and finding my Venmo account and making sure that they are sending to the correct account. Cons I guess the feature that I least liked is that they use Ingo for their check cashing services and I have had issues as well as other people that I know with Ingo because they will shut you out of their system and not really give you a reason and getting through to customer service and getting it sorted is almost impossible and very time-consuming and in my field that's something I do not have time for is to sit down and talk for hours and try and figure out something that I have no idea was a problem and it usually turns out that it's a technical error or it's a glitch or it takes a long time to fix and by the time they do that you found an alternative to doing what you needed to do anyway so that's my only con with venmo is that they use that one check cashing service so if you want to cash a check and you can't use Ingo then you can't use that feature of venmo and that's that's a downplay Review Source Similar Products Featured
