February 10, 2026 5.0 My overall experience with Venmo has been extremely positive and I use it quite frequently. I feel Venmo is one of the best financial apps of this kind. Pros Venmo is a very intuitive and easy-to-use product and service. The app is well designed and very user-friendly. I use Venmo at least a few times a week. Cons The only thing I don't like about Venmo is the percentage taken when transferring funds to a bank account for withdrawal. I feel it's a little high compared to similar apps and services. " December 3, 2025 4.0 Overall I think Venmo is a very quick and easy application to use when wanting to send and receive money however I would just be wary when using this to pay for products or goods when you do not have the items in hand. Pros I have used Venmo to aid with money transactions for the past 3-5 years. Venmo is free to use however if you want to transfer your money quickly you have to pay a small fee. I have many small businesses and side hustles and Venmo is very easy to use with minimal to no set up or commitment required. Cons Venmo allows you to complete payments via credit/debit card or straight from your bank account. The main thing that I do not like about Venmo is that there is minimal security to protect you if you do not receive the good that you pay for, so I only use this application if I have the item in hand. I have used Venmo's customer support system 2 times in order to attempt to cancel payments 1 that was accidentally sent to the wrong person and another that I completed a payment and did not receive my product. Both times I reached out to customer support they were quick to respond however not very helpful when attempting to get my money back. For example, if my coworkers and I go out to lunch we always have one person put it on their credit card while the rest then Venmo what they owe. Another example, we have one person do the buying of Christmas gifts for our Director and President’s in the office, then everyone else Venmo’s their contribution towards it. Pros Venmo is my go to platform when needing to transfer or receive money. I like how people are able to add pictures specifying it is them, the additional code option to type in the last 4 digits of their cell phone number before sending to also confirm, as well as seeing other people’s transactions. Having all my coworkers on the platform made it easier to find others and also remind me who I needed to send money to for whatever they may have bought or covered within our business office. Cons The thing I like least about Venmo is having to pay a fee right away to receive your money immediately, or having to wait the 1-3 business days for transfer. I also don’t like when the app circles due to service issues because sometimes I believe it did not go through or doesn’t load immediately, and almost end up sending the payments twice. I've never had a problem sending or receiving money from Venmo. Everyone has it so it's always available. Pros It's generally easy to setup and use to get money or send money between people. I especially like being able to just show my QR code to someone instead of having to spell my Venmo name to them. Cons Transferring money to my bank account takes too long. June 17, 2025 5.0 Love it...it's my favorite and most often used card for non-essential purchases. I have people pay me via Venmo for my side-hustle and like that I can turn around an use those funds for other things without having to run it through my bank checking account. Pros I LOVE how easy it is to make payments to my friends sharing expenses. I also have the debit card and use it to access my "play" money. Makes it easy to keep my accounts separate. Cons I also was issued a Venmo credit card, however there's no tying it to the debit account which I think is a missing. I had an experience where I used my debit card and the tip at a restaurant made me go negative in my account. They shut down my card and even though it was link to my checking account it took over a week to straighten out. It would be nice to link the debit card to the credit card in this circumstance. Many transactions processed, and many transfers of funds from venmo to bank account done without a hitch. Pros Venmo is an incredibly easy to use for both small business and for personal use. The fees for goods and servics is lower than credit card processesing companies, especially if you have a dedicated business account. Excellent value. Cons Venmo's dispute process is often glitchy and hard to find a resolution. In theory you should be able to do this through the app, but the app dispute process rarely works. April 17, 2025 5.0 I've actually had a fantastic overall view with venmo because I've actually had my venmo card a few times and I was actually able to dispute the charges I was very surprised it's convenient it's a lot like cash app but better more protection Pros I definitely like the fact that it has convenience just like PayPal I know their sister companies The only thing about venmo is it's very picky about what card you're able to add to it Cons I can say the only thing that I didn't like about venmo was the fact that certain cards weren't allowed like let's say I have a MasterCard and I want to add money to my venmo well sometimes venmo doesn't take said card so that's when my only difficulties Alternatives considered [PayPal](https://www.capterra.com/p/207944/PayPal/) Reason for choosing Venmo I do still use my PayPal and it's only because I'm a psychic medium and I do need a few payment accounts. I can easily use the app to send payments and receive payments from other. You can use the debit card, just as any other debit card and it does not have any hidden fees or issues using out of state or anything. Pros I like the convince of venmo that it can be used for personal use and business use. I also like that you are not only able to use the app but can also get a venmo debit card that not only can you use but it will also keep track of your spending. Almost everyone in my personal life that I deal with has a Venmo account, which makes sending and receiving payments a breeze. Pros What I like about Venmo is that it is free to use and is getting more and more widely accepted as a form of payment in both private and public transactions. Cons I don't use the feature, but the instant transfer of funds to your linked account costs money. To me, the standard transfer is just fine and costs me nothing, so that is what I always use to transfer funds from my Venmo account back to my linked bank account. Review Source HT Hailie T. Pros Venmo allows you to easily transfer money to someone. Payment is sent immediately to that person via debit or credit card of your choice. The software is free of charge to use which is great value. Good for transactions between friends, Facebook marketplace or a payment option for small businesses. Minimal issues with use. Cons Sometimes the app lags causing the payment to not send but typically it resolves within minutes. It serves the purpose well for people who want to send me or my business money immediately without me emailing them an invoice and it's incredibly easy to then transfer those sales to my bank account. Pros I love the fact that I can have both a personal and business account on Venmo. I also like that my personal account is free of charge while the fees are quite low for the convenience of using it for business as well. Pros It is easy to send and receive money. It is easy to track incoming, outgoing and spending. It's perfect for running a small business and requesting payments. It is a platform that is easy to use, convenient, and safe. Pros The best thing about Venmo is that you can pay anybody almost instantly, without any worry about the security of the transaction. Cons The only thing I don't like about Venmo is that the payments are not instant (unless you pay extra), but honestly it doesn't really bother me and I still use it often. I think it's just another company out here scamming people to make money. Pros Ease of use. Quick transfer and tap to pay. Designing your own card. Cons I received a text regarding fraud alert. I replied fraud. They still let 3 charges go through. I called right away. The guy says that I will have to wait until the charges are processed and not in the pending state. It will be 3 days before I receive an email on their decision. 3 days come around I call back the lady says that there is nothing regarding me calling 3 days ago. The first guy never even made a claim. So she makes the claim. Again tells me I will receive an email. At 4:00 am. I received an email stating that my claim was denied and that they can not prove it was fraudulent charges. Needless to say it totaled out to be $1200. The charges were from a hardware store in Paris. I live in Mississippi. Figure that one out. However it has some drawbacks including security risks, potential privacy issues and fee structures. Pros It is known for its user friendly interface and making it easy to navigate for its use and sending money and receiving money is typically fast and efficient . Cons It lacks feature for formal business transactions and it also has limited fraud protection that has big concerns and it is also not available outside of the united states that is a big down side for people in other Countries. February 5, 2025 5.0 I recommend Venmo to all of my friends and family. In fact, many of them have downloaded the Venmo app specifically because I asked them to in order to exchange money between us. I couldn't be more happy with Venmo and the fact that it does not charge as long as you're using your debit card or you have the money in your Venmo account. You can pay with Venmo anywhere that takes Visa which is very convenient. Plus, my favorite thing… I got to choose the color of my card which of course I chose pink and I love it!! Pros Venmo is my go to app to send or receive money for literally anything! I can send money to my kids or receive money for local sales from Facebook marketplace. When I'm splitting the tab with a friend.. it's simple & convenient. I love the fact the Venmo is literally INSTANT. There no wait time for the transfer so there's no waiting around for the money to hit your bank. Venmo doesn't charge anything for transferring between accounts which is awesome. And my Venmo debit card works anywhere that takes visa which is also convenient. Also you can send a penny & all the way up to thousands of dollars in one transaction at no charge. Zm Cons You are limited to the number of cards you can add to your Venmo account during a 6 month period which for me was sort of inconvenient because I receive gift cards through my work for incentives & awards. However I can just add these to my Apple Pay & use them that way or virtually so it's truly not that big of a deal. I had absolutely no problems with the user interface. What i had issues with is the customer support team. I couldn't believe how incredibly rude the customer service rep was. I got locked out of my account, due to losing my phone and logging in from a unknown browser, after 6 days of back and forth, I shut down my account and never looked back. Cons The disappointment, Oh the disappointment. Venmo customer service is incredibly unprofessional. Worst experience ever. Quick transfers. I even signed up to get a Venmo banking card because I love the ease of transferring money and completing transactions. Pros Very easy to use! Transactions are safe. I have had no issues sending or receiving payments through venmo. And they even have a venmo card you can use too! Cons I haven't come across anything I disliked really. I sometimes will forget to set my payments to private so it shows publicly. September 14, 2025 5.0 Overall i love venmo its great. Easy to use. I get payments quick and easy and i even have their credit card which gives 3% cash back! Pros I love how easy it to take and receive payments. The platform is trusted by alot of customers and i usually receive payments the next day.
