Never have had any issues or problems with using the software. It’s constantly being updated and I just really can’t emphasize enough how much better it is than any other products I’ve looked into. Pros I love using Venmo to get paid and to pay others! It’s so easy and simple to use and the best part about it is that it’s free! Free to sign-up and free to send and receive money. A lot of other softwares make you pay fees to receive money and even send it which is totally annoying. With Venmo, I can get paid and transfer the money to my bank account totally free, and if I need to get the money instantly, then I can pay a small 1% fee to instantly transfer the funds into my account. Look no further, Venmo is a great option for handling funds! Cons The only thing I can say about Venmo as constructive criticism is that it would be so helpful if you could pay yourself! As a small business that accepts payment through Venmo, it’d be so nice to be able to pay myself from my business account to my personal checking. There was no effort given to work together to rectify the situation, so that I would remain a faithful customer. I rarely use Venmo, and only in instances with people I know. I have not used Venmo for any fraudulent activity nor do I use it for the selling of goods/services. I did not use Venmo for any illicit purposes. I am an "average Joe" who only occasionally used Venmo as needed for payments to friends and never used suspect language in my payment descriptions. Here's what they promised: "If a dispute arises between you and PayPal regarding the Venmo services or otherwise, our goal is to learn about and address your concerns. If we are unable to do so to your satisfaction, we aim to provide you with a neutral and cost effective means of resolving the dispute quickly." Here's what they delivered: They refused to learn more about my concerns and did not provide me with any means of resolving the dispute. Instead, they just dismissed me without specifying cause. Venmo, you've lost this customer and my respect. You are a disgrace to business. Pros Normally very easy and straightforward to use as an app. Cons Terminated my account, i.e. froze my account permanently, due to a violation of the User Agreement, and did not specify cause. February 22, 2021 5.0 Overall, this is a great app. I have used it very often and will continue to. Really no large issues. Pros I LOVE venmo! It is SUCH an easy way to exchange money, especially today when people barely use cash or have it on them. I use it often when out with friends and we get the bill. Rather than having to split everything and get separate checks, venmo makes that tedious process so much easier for everyone. Recently I paid a friend through venmo to buy another friend overseas a birthday gift. This made for a much easier gift giving process than having to deal with international shipping. Cons I guess the one thing I don't really like about venmo is the option of seeing people's public expenses. I know you can change to private, however I don't even understand why the public option exists. No one really needs to see what their peers are spending money on. Also- you can only use your venmo balance if you pay someone that exact amount. It would be nice to choose to deduct your venmo balance from an amount that surpasses your venmo balance, and then only have to pay the difference. Review Source Wesley V. Then being able to securely transfer these to my linked accounts in a secure and quick manner is critical to my my finances. The added crypto currency is a wonderful feature. Funny story, but I used their feature to send an email to my entire address book, and little did I know but there was a bug and it kept sending the email over and over again and my friends were like "ok, we got it, please stop!" Whether that was good marketing or an unfortunate situation they certainly didn't forget what Venmo was. Ever since then I've used it on a regular basis and think they've done a great job. Pros What I love(d) most about Venmo is the pure simplicity of sending money. I also like that you can make your transactions private if you don't want others to see it, but you can also have fun with your message and emojies. It has also allowed traditionally cash only transactions to be completed digitally. This app has reduced the need for me to carry cash. Pros Convenience is the best thing about venmo, almost all of my friends have the app and it makes sending money quick and easy. You can quickly transfer your venmo balance into your bank account which enables me to split bills with friends when doing a group activity or are out to dinner. Cons The worst part about venmo is that once a payment has been sent, the payment is final. Venmo has built in some features to prevent users from paying the wrong person, but it still leaves this payment system open to fraud. Someone can promise to do something for a venmo payment and not provide the goods/services, but still keep the payment as venmo will not help the sender recover the funds. It's extremely easy to use and it's super convenient during a night out with friends. Pros There are many positives about using Venmo. First of all, the app is free. It's extremely easy and convenient to make payments or request payments from others. It also has been a lifesaver for me on numerous occasions when I've forgotten my wallet. Also, since downloading Venmo, dinner with friends is much more seamless. Instead of requesting that the server split the bill 3+ ways, my friends and I can instantaneously transfer money to each other without being a burden to the restaurant. I also love that they offer their own debit card. As a money-saving hack, I'll transfer a certain amount after every paycheck so I can keep track of my spending for the month. Cons While I love Venmo, I also use Square Cash because of its "no-frills" aspect. While Venmo does allow you to make payments privately, I find the whole social aspect of it a bit invasive. I'm honestly shocked that people often refer to Venmo as a social media platform. Review Source James B. Functionally, the service and app operate well as long as everything is pretty routine. If you have a problem or are experiencing anything out of the ordinary, good luck in getting a timely resolution to your issue. Pros Venmo is pretty easy to use and straightforward. Once your Venmo account is linked to your bank account, transferring money between parties goes very smoothly, in my experience. Cons Customer Service is very poor. There is no option to use an online chat with a customer service person nor is there a telephone number to call. You are required to fill out an online form or mail them a letter. They have software that analyzes your question by looking at keywords and then directs you to one of their FAQs. If your question has any degree of complexity, good luck. Their response is very slow (if they respond at all). On a recent issue that I was trying to resolve with them, it took multiple follow-up emails from me before I could get them to respond. Out of frustration, I mailed them a letter. It took 7 weeks to solve that issue. I wasted a lot of unnecessary energy and time. Reason for choosing Venmo It seems that Venmo is more universally accepted (or better known), allowing the product to be used over a wide range of my contacts. It's a quick way to send and receive money. It's very reliable, hardly ever crashes and has a very limited amount of updates which to me signals stability. Pros The fact that this product is on my phone and anyone with the app can send me cash on it at anytime is wonderful. Most dont carry physical cards anymore. So having something that can still allow people to pay straight from their accounts is great. Cons I don't think it really sets itself apart from the other pay software on the market. I think too if they can add the ability to accept cryptocurrency as a form of payment would be great. Other than these small things, there isn't much that I can say that is bad. Pros One thing I would say that using venmo made my life way easier. Whenever I hang out with my friends and family, I don't feel like I have to bring cash with me. Having venmo insures the safe payments and convenience. You wouldn't believe how easy it is to use. Once you try, you'lll know. Cons Sometimes it suddenly stops working. I have to close the app and reopen it again to solve this problem. Not sure if it is only me. It is definitely worth using, especially considering how ubiquitous it is becoming as the go-to payment app. Pros The best thing about Venmo is its ease of getting started. We have recommended the app to several people who were able to set it up on the spot and process payments with us. It is quick and fairly simple to use, with a very low learning curve. Cons The only thing that is sometimes problematic is the search ability to find other users. We have had situations where we are looking to pay others but could not find their name/profile with the first or second search, and it takes sometimes three or more times to late the correct profile. I was hesitant at first just because I hate putting all my banking information on my phone in case it gets stolen or lost but the software allows you to put a passcode on the app so that you won't be able to access it until you type the passcode. It makes me feel more secure and safe. Pros I LOVE that Venmo is free and super easy to download and set up. As a college student, it's made such a difference when it comes to paying back friends for dinner and other activities. I also like the request feature which allows you to request money from a certain user that way if they can't pay it at that point in time they'll have a reminder until they do. You're also able to withdraw the money either by check or direct deposit, although there is a fee for the check, a direct deposit doesn't have one. Cons When you request money from a user they are able to reject the request. I've never had any issues with someone rejecting my request, but my friends have. But ultimately comes down to people just not wanting to pay up! Honestly this software is perfect as is. It is so easy to pay others, there are no fees, and the transfer of money is instantaneous. Plus, the software sends texts when someone requests money from you or sends money to you. The app will also connect directly to your bank account for easy transfer of money between your personal bank account and your Venmo account. Cons There are basically no cons, I think this software is the perfect way to send money to and from friends. No complaints. I have used things like CashApp and a couple of other clones in the space, but I think Venmo offers something unique and is ubiquitous in the space. If you need to quickly and easily transfer money, check out Venmo. Pros Venmo has proved time and time again that it's very easy to transfer money between people. Over the years they have added a number of impressive tools and utilities to their roster such as their own Debit Card, now their own Credit Card, and in the wake of the acquisition by PayPal, they have partnered up with CVS to offer a payment option directly through the app. Cons I can't think of too many cons necessarily. I think the UI and UX are superb, making it extremely easy to set up and begin using for all of your money transfer needs.
