The thing is to transfer money to different bank account is not easy and using Venmo helps simplify the process. Pros I like how convenient it is to connect to my bank account and transfer money to any account without a fee. The transfer is real-time and transfers to a bank account with 0 fees within 2 days are great. The UI is easy to use especially with the recent update. Cons I am not sure how secure is my data on the app. Hopefully, they put more promotions and features to help make sure our data is private and is not shared with any company without our consent. In addition to all that it is all round safe and air tight which is what you want when dealing with direct connecting to something that retains connections to your Money Pros This software has made sending money to somebody simple and gratifying when it use to be a dreadful drawn out process. I'm sure some people remmember having to go deal with the dreadful experience if going to some busy department store and stand in long lines to fill out obscene amounts of paperwork just to pay an astronomical fee to send money and pray that there would be no problems. This software is straightforward cut and dry and effective and recieve a thumbs up from this guy and with my background of an ex pc repair business I feel I qualified to ssupport and reccomend this as a safe program to send your hard earned money Cons The only thing I would change and it's not a con really it's a wish and that is they would provide you an account and routing number so you could connect the card to other entities. It's an amazing app and has solved a huge problem in my life. Pros Venmo has completely gotten rid of the language of "can you spot me?" The idea of borrowing money from a friend because you forgot your wallet or were short on cash has completely been removed. Now I am able easily pay friends when checks have been split or there is a cost that I would like to contribute to. Also as a freelance photographer this makes payments from clients so much easier. Receiving large payments and paying large payments have become so easy. Cons There are only a few cons. Whenever logging into the application it is incredibly slow. A lot of the times I have to wait to load friends name when requesting or paying money. At times it would shut down the app because it's frozen. Also, there is a cap on how much money you're able to send per week. Although this isn't much of a problem on a daily basis when making large purchases or having large events it's a bit of a hassle having to wait an entire week in order to complete my payments. It is simplistic and easy to use. I use this software weekly with my coworkers, and it makes paying them back for my lunch so much easier. I don't have the hassle of going to a bank to withdraw cash to pay them back. Most all my associates and friends outside of work use this app. Great job! Cons One complaint that I have with Venmo is that all transactions are stored in your Venmo account. That means all earnings and cash sent and received are from your Venmo account (except if you're sending from your bank account). With that said, you're not able to withdrawal your balance right away and receive it. It takes a processing time of 3-5 business days for you to be able to see the withdrawal from Venmo hit your bank account. You can use it with your Amazon account or to make purchases at old navy or any other store. You are. It is nice if you live far from family to be able to transfer money to them immediately and to let them know why you are paying them. Cons Sometimes when I go on to the mobile site although I have used my card my balance will not reflect that until I turn my phone off and then turn it back on turn it back on. This has definitely saved me many hours of sending emails and waiting in my office. Pros As a professor, I manage various student organizations and honor societies. For years, I was frustrated every time I would have to collect money from students for various membership dues, materials, etc. However, with the pandemic, I began to accept money using Venmo and this fast-tracked being paid by the students. What once took weeks of endless emails and sitting in my office waiting for students to pass by was replaced by quick payments mostly within a day or two. So, I highly recommend this service! Cons While there are many pros to this service, I don't necessarily like the difference I find when using Venmo on the phone versus the computer. Sometimes, it seems like the app contains reduced functions and does not show some of the settings as easily as the desktop versions. Additionally, there have been a couple of times when I wanted to pay with Venmo, but instead, Venmo took the money out of my linked bank account. Perhaps, I missed a setting or something. It's very easy to use, especially when compared to other platforms I've tried (such as Zelle). I like the QR code option as well as the option to search by phone number or name. I can get my payments done quickly and easily and then move on with my day. Pros Very easy and intuitive to use. You can do everything you need to, in terms of electronic payments, but you aren't overwhelmed by features. It doesn't glitch and it gets the job done. Cons Sometimes it's hard to find a person or confirm that you're Venmo'ing the right person. I suspect that is a security feature selected by the user, though, so not necessarily Venmo's fault. Everything is tracked on one place. Who gave me money, who I paid. Cons They need to not show all the people who are in my contacts list and who bought what. I don't see the need for this feature. June 9, 2020 5.0 Venmo has been a great tool for us, allowing us to easily and quickly accept payment for services from clients who do not want to pay using cash or check. We have not had to order or purchase any hardware to be able to accept payments, and we have found that most of our customers wishing to pay online via credit card already have and are familiar with the Venmo app, which is an added bonus. Pros It was extremely easy to set up a Venmo account using our business name, which was important to us so that it would have a professional appearance. It has been very easy for us to accept and transfer money for payment for services we provide to our customers. We nor our customers have encountered any issues using Venmo as a payment mechanism for our business. Cons In an ideal world, Venmo would be fee-free, but that is simply unrealistic and there are no alternative options that provide this service at no cost. Otherwise, we have no complaints, nor have we experienced any difficulties or glitches in using Venmo. Reason for choosing Venmo We considered products that required hardware that allows you to physically "swipe" customers' cards, but we didn't want to deal with the hassle of another "thing" to keep up with or that would potentially malfunction. We also preferred the option for customers to not have to be physically present and/or hand us their card to accept payment via debit or credit card. For services rendered when customers were not present, this was much more efficient than trying to coordinate our schedules with theirs and/or go to difficult lengths to get paid for our work. Pros I love how low the fees are for using Venmo to send and receive money. Its very easy for customers who are already signed up through Venmo and the money cannot be disputed once sent. Cons The only downside is that it takes a little time to sign up a customer if they don't already have a Venmo account. Used incredibly often because it is so practical and easy to use. Would recommend for anyone! Pros I use this app daily for so many different reasons. It makes it so easy to pay back friends, split bills, and keep track of a group's payments. In this day and age many people do not carry cash with them, and this app makes it easy to pay back a friend if they are covering a bill for you, or pay someone without needing your cash or card on you! We use it for clubs I'm involved in to collect money for merchandise, I use it with my roommates to split bill payments, and I use it daily with friends to cover food or Uber rides that were paid for by others. Beyond easy to use, and also easy to transfer the money to your bank account! Cons I would like a feature to request the same amount of money from multiple people all at once- if I am splitting a bill, I'd like to be able to send it to the same group of roommates that I do every month, and request the same amount from each of them instead of completing multiple requests! Most of my clients and friends have Venmo making it fast and easy to pay and get paid Cons If the person I want to Venmo doesn't have the app, it's difficult to deploy. Also it takes a few days to set up because they make 2 small deposits to your bank to confirm it's yours. It's nice that it's an app that you can use so everything can be done quickly. Also, I used this to pay my customers and it's very quick and efficient. Cons I dislike the new addition to venmo that takes in a fee. My family keep getting into that accident all the time where I get fee from their money. I also like not having to carry cash because if I were to misplace my debit card or credit cards I can lock them through my mobile apps and not have to worry about anyone stealing any of my hard-earned money. Pros We live in a fast-paced, always on the go world. And in that world, it is so very rare that any of us carry cash anymore. So what do you do when you are out to dinner with friends or at the movies and one of them has cash but the rest of you don't? They offer to pick up the bill and you all pull out your phones and Venmo him the portion of the bill that you owe. Isn't technology wonderful? You can also Venmo your roomie your half of this month's rent, send your sister some money on her birthday...the list goes on and on. Cons You get charged a nominal fee if you want your funds to be transferred instantaneously. If you want them to be transferred for free you may have to wait 1 - 3 business days through your banking account.
