It may be easily accessible but it's not easy to operate. Pros I like most that venmo is an option to send money to and from and is easily accessible for anyone at any age. Cons It is a bit confusing and something that you will have to get used to before actually sending an receiving money. Never in my life would i recommend Venmo. Sorry guys professionalism is a must. Pros The app is incredibly easy to use. I had absolutely no problems with the user interface. What i had issues with is the customer support team. I couldn't believe how incredibly rude the customer service rep was. I got locked out of my account, due to losing my phone and logging in from a unknown browser, after 6 days of back and forth, I shut down my account and never looked back. Cons The disappointment, Oh the disappointment. Venmo customer service is incredibly unprofessional. Worst experience ever. Review Source MM Madison M. May 6, 2025 4.0 I think Venmo is super helpful and a great application have and use for all purposes. Despite minor cons, it overall has been a great application that I have used for 5 years. Pros I think Venmo is an excellent money transfer application and is super useful for a variety of reasons. Cons There are a few cons with using Venmo. One, I do not like how you can not use the balance in your Venmo account unless what you are sending is less than the current balance. I wish there was a way to subtract Venmo balance, instead of just having to use a different payment method. I also have experiences glitches with the mobile application on various occasions. I use it to receive payments and make payments because I usually buy and sell at events. Pros The way it opens up the ability to make transactions happen in a wide variety of places with an easy to use interface. Cons There isn't anything I least like. July 22, 2025 5.0 I have used Venmo for years to send and receive payments. It is great! Quick transfers. I even signed up to get a Venmo banking card because I love the ease of transferring money and completing transactions. Pros Very easy to use! Transactions are safe. I have had no issues sending or receiving payments through venmo. And they even have a venmo card you can use too! Cons I haven't come across anything I disliked really. I sometimes will forget to set my payments to private so it shows publicly. Not a huge deal but I think private should be the default setting Review Source DR David R. I have a lot of friends who we send each other money. It is super quick, efficient, and easy to send to bank account. Pros It’s super easy to use and makes it super easy to send money to friends or have friends send to me. It’s super helpful! Cons That not everyone has it. Sometimes I ask to send to someone and they don’t have it. But really I don’t know of anything I don’t like other than that, which can’t control. Or can you? Lol I wish there was a way to let people use it if they don’t have it. Like my mom has to drive all the way into town to put money in my account or I have to go all the way to her house, but it would be so much easier to have her send digitally but she doesn’t want to deal with that. Pros Venmo makes it easy to exchange money with people in my personal network. It definitely provides a stable means of transacting such informal money transfer transactions that are ever so common thus incredibly convenient. Cons I have had experiences when a payment turns out to be flagged and the funds are locked. This has been possible despite genuine buying activities amongst individuals I know very well. I have encouraged just about every i know to download the app. It really helped me alot. For example i got a call in the middle of the night to go pick someone up whom had a few to many at dinner and when i was on way back my gas light came on. I had left in such a hurry that i didnt have my wallet so i was able to request some cash from a friend and pay with my wallet. We made it home after a quit stop at gad station thanks to venmo. Pros I love the simplicity of Venmo. Being able to pay someone, anyone from friends to the guy on Craigslist i bought something from after seeing an ad. Its instantly deducted from whatever account you choose thats linked and or your venmo account. I love the options to purchase crypto and check in it whenever also having alerts set up is wonderful. Cons The only real gripe i would have about venmo is you are only allowed to ad a couple of cards in a 6 mo period and i get alot of virtual visas as spiffs from work and would of loved to be able to ad them to venmo to use as a payment method. So my tip to new users would be only ad permanently used bank cards to your venmo account because even after you may have added and used the balance on a gift card and then deleted card knowing its no good anymore you still cannot ad a card until that 6mo time passes. " August 30, 2025 5.0 Overall I’ve had a very positive experience and highly recommend using Venmo. It’s convenient for business and personal use. The 91 year old lady at church even uses Venmo! That’s how easy it is to use! Pros Venmo is super easy to use for quickly sending money between friends and family. I’ve had zero issues with the app, and their customer service has been excellent. I have had the Venmo debit card for about 6 months and love the ease of use. Cons The only downside is that it can sometimes be a little tricky to find the right person if they have a common name, and there are fees for instant transfers. My customer service experience with them was great and they’ve always treated me with respect when I’ve needed help. Pros It’s easy to navigate and figure out how to use and you also have the ability to link your bank accounts or debit cards to it. Pros I like how easy it is to accept and make payments to individuals. The app is easy to use and it’s also easy for people to find out profile. Cons I don’t like the high fees associated with a business account. As a church we use Venmo for donations, so it would be nice if there was an option to create a non-profit account that has less fees associated with it as opposed to our current business account. The consumer trust people have for Venmo is also a huge plus, in comparison to other payment apps or using a card. Pros Venmo is easily the payment of choice for a significant amount of my business's customers when making purchases in an in-person setting. The ease of receiving payments means customers are able to cash out instantly and not have to deal with the hassle of cards or cash. Cons Managing a business account online has limitations compared to what is accessible on the app. I hope down the road Venmo will update this so you can make the same account changes whether on a desktop or mobile device.
