October 7, 2021 5.0 Great payment processor to get payments from friends and family that is easy and quick and can be used on the go. Pros It's very quick and easy to make payments to people you know. Just get their username and you can quickly send someone money. It is now pretty well known so many people have it and will take it. Cons It's more of a no frills quick payment system so if you want a business processor I probably wouldn't use it for that. I enjoy the services and features it has to offer and has given me the ability to process transactions and send money for events when cash is not readily available. Pros I like how easy it is to use. I also enjoy the convenience in having the ability to pay and request funds from anyone anywhere. " November 4, 2021 5.0 I have realized that with Venmo I am able to track what I spent my money on. Banks cannot tell you a person you paid your payment to, so it really helps and provides a reminder when I am able to see that the $10 Venmo payment was to Sue for Lunch or whatever it may be. Pros I do not bank in my home town, I bank with Navy Federal Credit Union and when needing cash it's very inconvenient to go to an atm and be charged a fee. I love being able to send money to anyone using Venmo instantly and I do not have to worry about the $10 I owe to so an so for lunch. I also can automatically pay for things at fairs without having to remember to bring cash. Vendors are happy because they are able to make more sales when they tell everyone they accept Venmo. Cons I believe that Venmo and other cash apps should some way try to eliminate the fee for paying with a credit card. I'm not sure if this is because they are being charged on their end but it doesn't make that much sense. They FAILED to work as advertised. Completely Outrageous! Pros I thought I could use Venmo to pay a tree trimming company with my credit card linked to it. The tree trimming company would not take my card but would take Venmo. It seemed like the best option at the time. I did not want to pay out-of-pocket. Cons The app declined to pay the tree trimmer. My credit card was fine; it was the app itself. Their customer service rep said they couldn't do anything about it because it was an internal "security flag" and I had to wait 24 hours to try again. I had to pay the tree trimmer out-of-pocket because he wasn't going to wait 24 hours. Ridiculously worthless app. Completely useless customer service also. I wouldn't recommend it to Anyone. It is one of my favorite technologies! Everyone I know uses it, even my mom. It is very simple and I use it every day to send or receive money. It is crazy to think about how we used cash or sent a check in the mail before this. Pros I LOVE VENMO. I use it every single day! I use it to send gifts to individuals, split up dinners, send my rent money to my landlord, etc. It is a great way to send an receive money very quickly. I also like that it is its own social media platform and way to connect/send messages to others. Cons The only con I would say is that it does take a couple of days for money to transfer into the account, but Venmo has options that you can pay extra to get your money faster. " November 19, 2020 5.0 An application I use weekly, to pay my bills, coordinate event costs, group activities, etc. It has made my life way easier since I never have cash on hand. Pros A great way to transfer money between friends and family. When Venmo first came out - we used to have to throw down multiple cards at meals, write checks, have cash on hand, etc. It has been able to eliminate all pain points when it comes to group activities. I also love the option to send my friends a "small gift" from afar after moving across the company, such as "get yourself a coffee today - on me". Cons A lot of the older generation doesn't accept this form of payment/application. For example, my parents don't trust it, so there's a barrier to who I can connect on it. As far as other features, it does what I need it to overall but unsure if there's anything else that would make it better since it's been the same for the last few years? Review Source EW Elena W. Honestly, I don't know how I ever lived without Venmo. Pros I use Venmo daily. It makes it so convenient to send money to people, and I no longer have to carry around cash. It's very simple to send a payment to someone, and I really like the "Remind" feature; it helps me give out friendly reminders when someone owes me some money. Our friend group uses it regularly when we go out to eat. It's easier to have one person pay and then reimburse them via Venmo than it is to have a waiter try to split a bill between 8 people. Overall, I love it! Cons I really REALLY want to see Venmo create a recurring payments feature. There are some payments (e.g. internet, cell phone bills, etc.) that I pay to people every month on the same day. It would be a big time-saver if Venmo created a feature that allowed users to set up recurring payments to the same person. Review Source EF Erik F. I have used it many times - from social interactions where I wanted to send a friend money, to sales of product, to person to person sales on platforms such as Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, and other platforms. Venmo has been reliable, easy to use, and a stress-reliever. I have recommended it to many friends and will continue to do so. Pros Venmo is SO simple to use. I use other payment processing platforms, but I find Venmo to be the simplest. It is especially easy to transfer money from one person to another for any reason. Reimbursing a friend who paid for something, receiving money from a customer who bought something from you on Facebook marketplace - anything. I love Venmo Cons I'm a critical thinker - and I can think of nothing I dislike about Venmo. It's simple, reliable, and I have never had a problem using it. Pros Venmo is somewhat of the industry standard for customers to use to pay, so there is only a small learning curve associated when needing to educate our customers on how to use the platform. That is a big help to our organization. Cons Venmo's notifications can be really cumbersome and there is not a way to opt out of the notifications or change your preferences. October 4, 2019 5.0 I have been able to use Venmo both for personal use and my small business use with ease. I can both send and receive money without being charged for each transaction, as I did with Square. The only time I have to pay to use Venmo, is if I want money instantly transferred into my bank account. Pros This software is very user friendly. It is easy to search, and find people to send money to or from. I like that you are able to leave notes with the payment, or payment request. I also like the speed that this app operates. You can request money be transferred to you bank, either for free (1-3 business days), or instantly (for a 1% charge). It's easy to switch between your saved payment methods. The customer service is great. I sent money to an old account, that was not accessible, and customer support helped me get the money sent delivered to the correct account. Cons The only downfall to this app is their customer service. When I needed to change the account I sent money to by mistake, it took them about a week to get the money delivered to the correct account, with myself and the recipient both reaching out. Pros The best part is the seamless way of making digital payments to people who hold a different bank account when compared to mine(if it's my same bank account, I could send/receive payments through my bank account easily). I could also store some of the amounts in my Venmo account and this could be helpful in times where I don't sufficient amount in my own bank account but I have to send someone urgently and during times when I need money I can cash out the money in my Venmo account to my personal bank account. Cons The least I like about this software is the fact that it would take approximately 2-3 working days for the money transfer process to get completed from the time of initiation and I wish this money transfer time would be quicker and be reduced to probably 1-2 days. Cons To transfer a balance to your bank account it either costs a percentage from you to have it deposited immediately or you have to wait 3 business days. Don't even try to transfer on the weekend. Pros I pretty much enjoy using this software to transfer money or pay other people, especially when I don't have any cash in hand. For example, sometimes when I have dinner in the restaurants with my friends and the bill can't be split paid by credit card, I always use Venmo to transfer money to my friends or receive money from them. Basically, the software is also very easy to use and very straightforward. And it is quite safe. I thus highly recommend other people to use this software. Cons Sometimes when my friends don't have this software, of course, I cannot pay them by Venmo. About half of my friends have the Venmo account. This is the limitation for using this software. So if more people can use it, it will, of course, make our lives easier.
