It makes splitting receipts with friends much simpler as well as quick payment for services. It also feels very safe and secure. So many people have Venmo and this makes it great to quickly pay or get paid for doing a task. The interface is awesome as well to keep track of how much money is in your Venmo account along with a review of your transaction history. Pros Venmo is an amazing money transfer app this is widely used and probably the most popular. They have an easy to use and clean mobile interface. It is very quick to transfer over funds and redeeming funds. Cons Nothing major- the only thing is that transferring funds is not instant. It typically takes 48 hours. I think venmo does exactly that. I receive payment immediately and its reputable. Theres also no fees so its great to convince others to use Pros I like how easy it is to transfer money from one person to the other. You can hook up your checking account for free and there is no charge for transfers. Cons If I dont want to link my checking account, it charged me a certain percentage fee to send money through a credit card. This often deters people who dont want to link their checking account to a site that they are new to. Please do not waste your time or your money Pros They make it seem as if it will be a good app. It is all lies! Most transfers are not instant. The standard are not either Cons Downloaded venmo to use for payment from my customers. First transaction of 500 went well. Instantly transferred. Then had a transaction of $4,000. They denied the instant. Then it took 10 days to get my money in my account. Then I accepted another payment of $1,100. Took 7 days to get it. Finally received a Venmo card to use. Same day I received it it was hacked and some of my money was stolen. They cancelled the card. Now I have yo wait 10plys days or get another one. Meantime I have $800 I can’t access unless I wanna transfer standard and play a guessing game as to when it will be available Bottom line, please do not become a victim of this company. For most of us, that was PayPal. I would be online shopping or see fundraisers I wanted to participate in that stated using Venmo. Knowing nothing about it, for the past couple of years I just moved on and went with something else and made my donations in other ways directly to the organizations or events. Recently, a friend of mine had been selected to participate in a volunteer trip to Mexico where he was going to be installing wood stoves into the households of an undeveloped community - this would be lifechanging for them as they could now warm their homes, cook inside, have sterile water, and so much more. He was so excited to go and I wanted to help fund his trip. He told me to Venmo my donation. Ugh... here we are again. Venmo that I know nothing about. But since this was someone I know I decided to go ahead and take the leap and check it out. What was I so worried about?? Who knows. But my fears were alleviated when it took me no more than 10 minutes to download, set up and send my donation. I reviewed the policies and protections and felt secure in moving forward. I've used it a few times since and I've never had any concerns at all. So, in my opinion, it's the new PayPal. No one asks you to PayPal them anymore. :-) Pros Went straight to the app store and downloaded the product to my phone with ease. Set up my account in no time and sent payment off in less than 10 minutes from start of download to setting up and sending. Cons Nothing wrong with the software, it was more my being used to the old days of PayPal and trusting a new payment platform. Everyone is afraid of scams and fraud these days, so making the leap to try something new can be a little scary. I use it all the time, as it makes it easy to send and receive money without having to write a check, make change in the case of cash, etc. Pros Easiest way to send money to friends, family, etc. What's great about Venmo is that it doesn't try to do 100 things, it's just a very intuitive money sending app. There is a social aspect, but it's all within your control as to what transactions are public to other app users, or private between you and the sender/recipient. Cons It would be nice if you could choose to send funds from a bank account in your profile, even when you have a balance in your Venmo account. Review Source JJ Julie J. Not have I been scammed I would highly recommend it Pros Super easy to send money to someone. You don’t have to add money to your Venmo account to send money which I love. You can use your debit card or credit card to send money. You can send money by email address or phone number. Best part is that you can cancel the payment if the person does not want to accept the payment. I love it for work when someone is out grabbing lunch I can just send them money to pick me up something without having to run to atm. Also you can transfer up 5k a week Cons I don’t like the fact they charge you 3% on credits cArds on top of whatever you send. Forgetting my wallet is not the end of the world anymore and transferring money from my Venmo account to my bank is easy and free. In addition, Venmo has improved group planning events as it is easy to collect money from friends through the application. Pros What I like the most about this software is the easiness of use and convenience it provides. Whenever I am out with my coworkers or friends and forget my wallet, I can easily sign in to my Venmo account and pay them without having any extra fees for making payments. I also really like the fact that I can transfer my Venmo balance to my bank account within 3-5 days without any extra charge. Cons I really do not have any cons about this software. I now use some other money transferring apps, but would always use venmo as my first choice. I only have other apps because some of the people I interact with does not have venmo themselves. Pros Venmo is extremely easy to use to transfer money. It is extremely popular, so it is rare that I have to ask the other individual to have to download the application before we can begin the transfer. But if they must, I have found that the process of attaching their bank information or credit card information is extremely easy. I can also transfer the money people pay me at anytime, and often times the money is only delayed by only a day (though some holidays I find that it interferes with the short transfer times).
