Pros The things I enjoy about Venmo: - ease of use (anyone can use it will little to no instruction, the app just walks you through) - fast and secure money transfer (I can transfer money to others and have money sent to me in seconds) - ease of transferring to bank (just a couple of clicks and the money is in my account) Cons The things I don’t like are: - delay in money getting to my bank (I don’t think any services like this are instant and free so I can’t complain too much. ) - requiring a memo (like having to put the reason for the money. It is an awesome money transferring application and I encourage all who have a reservation about money transferring apps to give Venmo a try! Pros I have used other money transferring applications in the past. Venmo is by far the easiest and most reliable money transferring app. Venmo is user friendly. With ease of requesting and accepting money payment, I am able to get my money from one person to my account within minutes. Cons The area that Venmo falls short, unfortunately, is recieving money that day. Venmo takes a percentage cut from the amount deposited. For instance, if you withdraw (transfer) 300.00 dollars into your checking account, Venmo will charge you 1% of that which is 3.00 dollars. Your transfer will drop to 297.00. Review Source Kara F. Before, I would have to worry about taking out cash to pay someone back, but with Venmo you can instantly send money. Pros I love how easy it is to link your account and add people on Venmo- you can set a profile picture to ensure that it is the correct person and you can do easily send money and receive it. Must have for personal, office, or small business use and integrate for services Pros Absolutely free of charge, no hidden, no nothing. I have been using this platform for quite some time now and I would say that I am satisfied with how things are working with Venmo. It's very easy to use, and it's very secure. Withdrawing out to your bank account is easy and even keeping money in your Venmo account is not a problem at all. Cons If you want your money right away, you will just have to give a small percentage out of it which I think its just fair and not a problem for me. I feel that its utilization has been exceptionally fitting. It gives my customers and me a ton of safety while charging for assistance. Also, the vast majority can deal with it effectively, yet for good measure, the stage has a decent base of data on their use arrangements, which makes us all very mindful of the correct use and treatment of the application. All installments are handled decently fast so that there is no compelling reason to trust that outsider endorsement will deliver the cash and have it reflected in the records. Moreover, it has incredible paces of utilization, and dissimilar to other people, you don't need to be paying commissions and charges for all that is finished with it. Its connection point is exceptional and meets everything required to avoid issues. Cons I experienced difficulty adding some financial institute accounts to the system. This is most likely not their fault as all software needs downtime occasionally. It took 5 mins to set up and I haven't had any trouble. I like how payments are insured for the customer, it gives them an extra feel of security when buying online. I love how it syncs with Paypal! The "customer support" is awful and the fee's are crazy. Needless to say, I dropped them. Pros It's really easy to use, but that's any prepaid card you get. It has made activities with friends simpler when it comes to splitting costs. I no longer have to keep very much cash on me which I feel better about. I would definitely recommend this software, especially to students who are often in situations where such a software comes in handy. Pros What I think is the best thing about venmo is that it allows people to pay each other back in a very simple and from what I've experienced, secure way. In college, there are many occassions where costs are split among many different people and before I began using Venmo, this was a more difficult process which required carrying cash around. It is really nice to not have to worry about forgetting to chip in for something or to pay someone back when this can be done very easily over Venmo. Cons The only thing that I worry about with Venmo is that money could be lost through these online transactions. Fortunately this has never happened to me and I take the precaution of never leaving large quantities of money in my account for this reason. I do think it would be a good idea if Venmo had a second confirmation message that had to be checked off before payments are made. I have heard of people accidently misplacing decimals and paying the wrong amounts in the past and I think the software should have a confirmation to try and decrease the likelyhood of mistakes like that. The ability to quickly send a transaction without too much hassle makes it an easy to use system and my preferred way of money transfer. Cons Venmo's requirement to include a message in the transaction can be annoying at times as well as the fact that other people can see your transactions by default. We've had no major issues with setup, payments or with deposits, and in the past when support issues have arisen, they've been handled with speed and care. Pros Venmo is easy to download and set up an account with. Finding other users to request payment or send money is flawless, as long as you have the correct identifiers. Venmo integrates well with our bank account, especially when depositing funds. When issues have arisen in the past, Venmo support is very helpful! Cons There are some privacy concerns with recent news stories regarding visibility of private payments across the public sphere, so we look forward to hearing how Venmo will be shoring up their data integrity methods now and in the future. If you don't have Venmo - change that now! Pros Ease of use. It's incredibly fast to set up and so easy/fast to use. No fees! Nothing hidden or unknown (that I've seen in my years of usage.) Transferring funds, requesting payments, etc. are all so much easier than alternatives I've used in the past. Cons Finding a specific business that you're trying to pay sometimes doesn't work, even with the handle typed out exactly. Retracting payments if it is sent to the wrong person also doesn't work, understandably, but that causes a headache as well. Everyone I know uses it to swap payments in a post-cash economy. There's no more awkward exchanges after someone picks up the lunch tab. It's just a matter of sending them the money. Super easy and highly recommended. Pros Venmo is one of those great programs that solved a simple problem we've been battling for decades: how do you split a check after lunch? With Venmo, there's no more IOUs or trying to make change. It's a simple press of a button to send someone money and it's done, plus you have a record of it. Cons There isn't much to the app, but what it does, it does wonderfully and I've had a problem with it. I've never found myself wishing it could do more. Pros It's simple to set up and use. People have the ability to react to your payments. Everything is well organized so that you can find things, people in your contacts, and you can send money to someone via phone number or email which is very convenient. Cons The only con is that it mimics a social media platform a little too much. Meaning, other people can see who you paid and vice versa. They don't see the amount of money exchanged, but it was always odd to me that there's basically a page where everyone can see who's doing what. Even if they don't know how much, I'm left asking "why"?
