Cons There isn't much I don't like about it, to be honest, maybe the fact that your social network can see transactions made, but there is an option to set that to private so no big deal. " March 30, 2021 5.0 Venmo is the best option for smaller payments, couldn't be without it. Pros Everyone uses this product, which makes it almost essential in everyday life. And I understand why, it's so easy and even though I mostly feel like I'm trading money back and forth forever, I couldn't live without it! Cons I wish there was a scheduling or recurring payment option, that would really make the product stand out and I would no longer rely on any other software / apps. Pros I like how you can choose whether or not you want to link your bank account to it or not. I also like how you can have a Venmo card, to spend the money directly from your Venmo without connecting it to a bank account. Venmo also gives you a card to use when you want to keep money in the Venmo account. Pros I love Venmo, the best thing about this app is it’s ability to pay anyone who has the app instantly. It makes splitting checks at dinner that much easier. Cons There isn’t anything that I don’t like except it does take sometime for the money to be transferred to you unless you pay an additional fee. It is visually pleasing and very easy to use! Pros I love to use Venmo because of how easy it is to find my friends/family to transfer money to. It is also great to use for organization fundraisers because of how widespread the software is...almost everyone has it! Most people I interact with tend to already have it or a willing to install and use it because of name recognition alone. It feels like a safe and dependable way to send or receive money. Pros Huge userbase and extremely fast and easy to use. I really like the QR code scanner for quick in-person transactions. Might be the only QR code feature I use! Cons I wish the instant deposit/transfer (with fee) features were supported by more banks. I was surprised that neither Capital One Bank or SoFi are compatible. Pros Aces Fast, helpful installments Allowed to send cash from a ledger or charge card Low expense for Mastercard installments Can pay for buys at select organizations Offers a charge card and a Mastercard Adds a social component to sending and getting cash Cons Downsides: There's a charge to send cash through Visa. Event Organizer Entertainment Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Team Venmo or Team Paypal" August 7, 2022 5.0 Overall, it is a great alternative to PayPal, it's easy to use and a lot of people have it, so it makes moving funds easy and also holding all the transactions, I do hope overall in the future that do keep the modern feel towards the app. Pros So, it's a pretty simple app as it basically mirrors its big brother PayPal, the functions are easier in a sense, and the layout is more modern compared to its competition. Up to date I never had issues accepting tournament entries and paying out prize support through Venmo as that is all I use it for. Cons At times the app seems clunky with information and most of the problems came from early access and not knowing how to navigate properly the software, but it is definitely easier now but do recommend some type of video to show how it properly works. Pros Venmo is super easy to use and a fast way to pay/ transfer money to friends, family, employees, etc.! I also like the social aspect to see what your friends are doing on the newsfeed. Cons I feel that transferring your balance to your bank account should be a little faster. Although, the 1% fee that is charged for an immediate transfer isn't terrible! Review Source Jessica B. Living in a fast-paced city, being able to be quick and on the go is rather important for many of the families I have worked for. A number of them use Venmo or have at least heard of it, and I am sure to recommend it when asked. Venmo has been reliable in ease of use, never any real big issues I have seen, and is quite capable for someone in my line of work. The only downside is that Venmo has a few competitors, so it has been about half the time I have used Venmo to finalize fund delivery for a service. I continue to be hopeful that it will grow and be among the best. This is why I keep it in my phone as an easy method to use, for those that use it well. Cons Not ENOUGH people use it. Like stated before, the ability to send and receive money with easiness makes this tool valuable for any individual or organization. Pros Venmo allows you to transfer money directly from your account or your personal bank at ease. There is no difficulty in connecting your bank information and sending or receiving money. It has the ability to send money to vendors to and recognize it as a transaction so you can mark as an expense in your balance sheet. Cons If you make a mistake, there is no way to go back. Once a transaction is done, you do not get any second verification before completing it. Sometimes when you make a mistake, you have to go back to the user and request money back or vice versa. I use it often for both personal and business reasons despite it not being a business application - almost everyone uses it. Cons It would be great if they embraced the business use case and allowed some sort of business profile to be created. The fees associated with credit card payments could be lower. As for receiving payments, it has made it much easier and secure for the customers, which is a great asset for any business. Pros Monthly reports are easy to access and are automatically sent via email. You can see all your transactions easily without any hassle. Receiving payments contactless is the best part, especially these days where no one wants contact. Cons So far, I have not had too much to complain about with the system. Pros Easy, and conveinant payment transfer platform that is in some manners socially oriented. Creates opportunity for individuals to send funds to one another, and creates an environment where people cultivate a culture of sending money, while doing so in a more publically available way. Sending large transfers to another can be quick and its closer to something everyone might already have, making it easier to suggest than certain other applications. At the same time, your friends can see your transfers to another friend, but not your amounts- so if you feel like what you do might be trendy or of interest to your friends, they might respect you. Cons Honestly, the notion of certain aspects of transparency make it kind of violating at times if you prefer privacy in regards to who you send money to. Customer's seem to utilize it for transferring funds between each other. So, they already have the app installed and ready to use. Transaction fees are low and setting up the QR codes is simple and easy. The software is great to use and allow users a great way to make payments in a secure way. Cons At this point, I have not found any cons to using Venmo. The software and apps are all easy to use a great way to connect for payments. Pros The thing I like most about Venmo is the ability to pay my friends/family for things while we are out. And I also like the ability to pay my babysitter that way. Keeping everything electronic is much easier for me. Since nobody really carries cash these days, and since even with cash it could be difficult getting paid or splitting a check, Venmo makes it very easy to do that. Pros Venmo is so simple to use and you can trade money without any fees, so long as you're patient. I use it all the time for something as simple as splitting a check at a restaurant or for bigger purchases. It's easy to attach your account to it and that's all you need. Being able to scan someone's profile makes it easy to be sure you're sending money to the right person. Cons The social aspect is a little strange, but I just set my status to private so that people can't see what I'm sending and receiving money for, although I will say that it's entertaining to see what everybody else is doing on there, I just don't like my business being broadcast. It would also be nice if you could attach multiple profiles to a single bank account. It seems like everyone is on it from one of furniture movers to the local Girl Scout troop selling cookies. I don't carry cash often, so it's a great replacement for small payments where cash is appropriate. My biggest hesitation is three years ago someone told me of a problem with data security. They may have just been a rumor or hearsay, but since I will not link my main bank account in fear someone could steal it in a data leak. I have a very small bank account on there, so if I run low from my balance, I have to transfer money to that account to use Venmo. The credit card fee prevents me from using that as my main source for payments. Pros I love how easy it is to pay or request money from people. It's easy to find others, even if you aren't already friends with them Cons I don't trust it enough to link it to my main bank account. They can use this app to make the transaction and you will be notified in a second about the transaction. Since user interfaces are basic and not hard to understand a lot people are trying to use this software. Cons I do not have any negative points about this software. I use this and I am pretty happy about its functionalities.
