Pros It's great since I can receive money from people even if they have a different bank. Also, I hate carrying around cash so it makes it convenient to receive money straight to the bank. Cons I honestly don't have much that I can say bad, but one thing I noticed is that if you send huge volumes of money it does have some sort of limits you can send per day. Review Source Stacy M. I haven't used the pay in store feature of this yet, but sending and receiving money from others is so smooth. Pros It is SO easy to use and send money. Also, super easy for requesting money from others for bills, shared events, costs, etc. I use it almost daily if not multiple times per day! Pros The best experience I had with the application was when they tried to rob me through a service application and it was Venmo customer service that solved my case even if they had nothing to do with it. Cons That it still cannot be used in countries other than the United States, because if it were to reach Latin American countries it would be a greater success than it already is, because it would allow transfers to be made internationally without so many complications. Its become another banking institution we use almost daily. Pros Venmo makes it easy to send money to friends and family quickly. We use it a lot to split tabs at restaurants and to pay for kids play dates (soccer field rentals). I pay for small items using it. It allows me to track whom has paid for me for the kids sports endeavors. I like to keep money in it so I can pay for things and it doesn't affect our normal checking accounts. Cons It does charge you for an instant transfer. Which is fine seeing how I think its only 1.5% ($1.50 for every $100 instantly transferred to your bank account.) I do wish that I wouldn’t need to put a transaction description next to each request. Sometimes I just want to send the money. Pros \-It's easy to transfer money among friends -It plugs right into iMessage, so no need to change apps, or search for someone's username -Fast money transfers. For me it was usually less than 48 hours to get money into my bank. Cons \-I don't like the social feature, so I don't use it. Maybe you'll like it. -It only works if both users have the software, and doesn't default to an email if you're just looking to transfer money from your Venmo to someone else's bank account or to PayPal! -Usernames are tricky sometimes (lots of people with the same name and a -x number suffix), so I usually get nervous sending money to someone I don't know. Great app for payments " July 25, 2019 5.0 So close I had a hard time receiving payments from people because they would have to sign up for PayPal or something like that but with Venmo it makes it super easy and very fast to receive your payment into your checking account . Pros It’s easy to except payments from clients and even friends. What’s my client is in my contact list all I have to do is turn on Venmo and I could request a payment from them Or buy services or even a concert ticket or something that I bought for a friend. Whether we are splitting up a tab at lunch, or if I receive a service from an individual. Venmo is connected to my bank account and allows me to pay individuals without having to have cash on hand or use a product/service like SQUARE. And it is very inexpensive, there is now monthly subscription fee or even a fee when using a bank linked account to transfer or receive funds. Cons I really don't like that the default feature of this application allows people to see the memos associated with the transactions. Pros It can be connected to both your paypal & your Facebook to make it easier to find your friends, to maybe split a lunch bill, or a room mate to split rent, or to pay for an item you got from Marketplace. Venmo makes it where you can do all of that. Cons If I have one dislike it would be how much it cost to transfer funds over from your main account to Venom. Other than that it's a free service. Cons Once we grow further, it will be hard to use Venmo if I have employees who are not present with me. I like how you can get on your phone and can instantly send money to people. I also like how they now have the option where you could be chosen to have a venmo card which would make spending your money easier. I use this app to pay for bills or pay back my friends for food. Cons I have had Venmo for a long time. I originally really liked it because it did not charge you to use it, but now you are charged a 1% fee if you want an instant transfer. While you do have the option to have your money transferred without the fee, this does take multiple days to receive it. The software does not allow you to send people money from your bank account while you have a Venmo balance which I believe is a simple problem that could be fixed. Review Source GI Grace I. Pros What I like most about Venmo is the easy way one is able to link their bank account to the application with maximum security. I've been using Venmo for years now, and I have not had any security issues with the application. It's an easy way for me to quickly and safely transfer money to my checking or saving account! Cons What I like the least about Venmo is the way it feels like a social media application. Although you are able to make your transfers "private" instead of "public" if you choose to, I don't enjoy seeing everyone else's money transfers to each other. I also do not like that people are able to "like" other people's transactions. It feels like an invasion of privacy to me. I am also able to share my Venmo handle or QR code with others, which has added to the ease of use. Pros The pros of Venmo include the ease of sending and receiving money between users and it is free to use. The recent QR code function also makes it easy to find other users with a quick scan. Venmo has also recently added an additional verification in which users have to input the last 4 digits of the receiver's phone number to send money. Cons Some aspects of this software that could be improved are its privacy function (the default privacy setting publicly shares your payment history - but this can be manually changed) and the user's inability to receive and send money on the website. I love how easy it is for them to find me on Venmo and pay me, as well as how easy it is to transfer the money to my bank account. The instant transfer is truly immediate and completely reasonably priced. It’s my businesses favorite way to take payments! I also appreciate the Venmo debit card which allows me to access my money without transferring it. Cons I have no problems at all with the Venmo software. The social aspect is intriguing, but a little distasteful for me personally. But the ease of use and privacy makes it a winner. Pros Venmo has distilled funds transfers into its most useful basics. That distillation is my favorite thing about Venmo. Pay or Request, pick the recipients, and boom. It also makes it simple to rectify common multiple payer situations like tickets, restaurants, taxis, etc. It's also very easy to set privacy-levels, which I very much appreciate, as in general I don't care for people peering into my financial life. On that note the feed of recent transactions is interesting, and makes for fun scrolling, but... Cons The feed of friends' transactions is bit odd, a bit voyeuristic. Of course, people control the privacy of their transactions, so no one is sharing things they don't want known. From a corporate perspective, one can see the benefits of aggregating transaction info into a real-time feed, and I'm sure it increases app engagement time. But still, it's a little queasy to me, to mix social media and personal finance like this. Cons I think it could do a better job of appealing to older markets. The check-writing generation is hesitant to do anything online but they are a large population.
