### "Venmo and COVID-19: Convenience Turned Crucial "

August 14, 2020

5.0

I began using Venmo in 2017 and it has been invaluable. I was able to easily link both my credit card and my checking account, providing flexible options for payment. The most important aspect of Venmo has always been the convenience. No more scrambling for dollar bills, splitting checks at restaurants, or worrying about when/how you are going to pay someone back. Over the past few months, however, Venmo has shifted from a convenience to a crucial method to exchange money. Contactless payment is more important than ever before in a socially distanced world. Not just among friends and colleague, but within other professional and business relationships as well.

Pros

Venmo is intuitive and easy to use. The layout is clean and learning curve virtually nonexistent. It’s not only easy to pay or request payment, but privacy settings are easily toggled as well. I have had multiple issues with Zelle, but never one with Venmo.

Cons

I don’t like how you can’t leave the “what’s it for” option blank. Also, I believe Venmo would benefit from a “test run” payment feature to ensure you are paying the correct person. They do give a warning message if you’re about to pay someone for the first time, but I believe having a test feature as well would add a layer of comfort.

### "The best option for paying and receiving funds in the digital age"

April 12, 2021

4.0

When these apps first started popping up, it was quite sketchy. Many of us thought "why would I willingly plug my bank account information into some random app?" And I couldn't be more glad to have been wrong. It makes paying my siblings or friends back so simple. If someone forgets? You can just send a request reminder that comes off gentle and polite. To top it all off, it's free! But it it needs to stop being treated like a social media app, because it isn't.

Pros

The simplicity. Open the app, select that you want to pay or request, type in the person's name (which always baffles me when I haven't even friended them most of the time, in how quickly they come up) select the amount, then hit pay or request. Want the money you receive to go to your bank account? Easy to set up. Want it instantly? Just pay a small fee, and I mean tiny, or wait a few days at no cost. It's also fun to add emojis or messages to what you pay someone for.

Cons

I find the profiles and public interactions to be annoying and an invasion of privacy. Some people should be more careful about how they spend their money publicly. Luckily, there is a private option where you don't have to have this available to everyone.

### "Best App Ever"

May 6, 2021

5.0

Overall I absolutely love Venmo and will continue to use this for personal use. It’s the most convenient app and I’d highly recommend to everyone.

Pros

I use this app for personal use, not business but I absolutely love it. My boyfriend and I are always using this app to pay each other for rent, bills, groceries, etc. It’s so much easier than using cash. We can avoid going to the bank to deposit money and can do everything we need to through this app. It’s the most convenient thing! And I absolutely love that you can “instantly transfer.”

Cons

There isn’t much I don’t like about Venmo but I do wish the business account didn’t take a bigger percentage than using the personal one. I don’t use Venmo for business but I probably would start is the percentage they took wasn’t as much as it is now

### "venmo app."

December 21, 2021

5.0

Super loving it! The transfer or payment is so easy and practical.

Pros

I have the ability to send and receive money with no transfer fees. It is like a bank where you can save money and what I love about is, you can do contactless payments. All you have to do is show the QR code and they will scan it. Then after every transaction you do especially in paying, they always update you via email so you know how much have you spend and have left. It is easy to send and receive money through venmo , you just have to know your email address and phone number.

Cons

So far I have not seen any negative things about it so I cannot say I have something I do not like about venmo.

### "Quick and easy way to send payments "

July 10, 2019

4.0

Overall, I have had a good experience with Venmo. They often send me user feedback surveys which I really appreciate. I definitely feel like they care about improving their products and I would love to see the aforementioned features added.

Pros

Venmo has a very clean UI and is extremely easy to use. This app makes sending payments fun because you can customize your payment with emojis and amusing messages that can be sent privately. Additionally, being able to save certain people in your favorites makes completing familiar transactions must faster. Relative to other similar apps, Venmo has a very affordable instant transaction fee as well.

Cons

In terms of features I would like to see in the future, I hope that Venmo will allow you to set reoccurring payments automatically, and let you pay with a credit card without incurring extra fees. I also think it would be nice if we could automatically set all payments to private.

### "Great for Social "

May 29, 2019

5.0

Pros

This is the easiest way to transfer money in a causal setting. It is instant and both parties get notified if the transaction occurred. The UX is clean and fun to use with the option for emojis and ability to split payments among a group. I have never had an issue with Venmo in terms of transferring my Venmo balance back in to my bank account. The QR code is definitely helpful in making sure you are paying the right person and having a user picture available further helps money get to the right person.

Cons

The scariest thing is if you accidentally venmo the wrong person. There is no UNDO button so you will just have to rely on the kindness of the wrong recipient to send you the money back. Please make an UNDO button.

### "LOVE Venmo!"

May 15, 2023

5.0

Venmo is a great safe and secure platform to use if you are wanting to make easy transactions between friends and family!

Pros

I love how easy it is to use! Easy to find people you know from contacts to be able to transfer money more easily. It feels safe and secure to use when sending/receiving payments!

Cons

I will say maybe the fee they charge you if you want it right away could be a hassle for some, but I usually wait the 1-3 days to receiver the money and usually it gets sent the day day.

### "Excellent app for moving money as an individual"

October 5, 2021

5.0

generally a great app for moving personal money between friends or basic contractors, etc (i use it to pay rent for example).

Pros

Easy to send money to friends or contractors when needed. Also easy to export money to your bank accounts. Generally speaking it's a very "up-to-date" personal payment software among the best options for consumers IMO.

Cons

The social feed is odd and off putting in my opinion. They allow you to set your transactions to default to private but the fact that i needed to do that myself is odd - no i do not want to announce to the world every time i pay someone something...

### "No Cash, No Problem"

December 6, 2019

5.0

No more having to go to the bank to pull out cash to pay someone back or dealing with the never-ending "You got me this, so I'll get you that" phenomenon that is always the bane of friendships. With Venmo, you can quickly and easily send funds to your friends, coworkers, and/or family in seconds

Pros

The best benefit about Venmo is that it makes going out with friends, splitting a meal, or dealing with owed money incredibly easy. It's also awesome that for a small fee you can immediately transfer your balance to your bank account in seconds. It's also fun to see what your contacts are sending money for.

Cons

The only issue I've ever dealt with Venmo is that occasionally it glitches out and doesn't allow me to send or request funds when completing a transaction. Usually, a quick reboot resolves the issue so it's not a big deal.

### "Transfer funds, split checks, or send a gift with ease!"

March 7, 2019

5.0

My experience has been positive so far! My graduating college class purchased a gift for a former teacher who suffered a loss and transferring money through Venmo was incredibly easy!

Pros

Honestly, transferring money to someone couldn't get much simpler (except for cash). When dining out with friends, you can simplify everything by having 1 check come out and then do the math after you have left the table. If owe someone money or split the cost of some purchase, again, you can do that with ease. The transfer is instant unlike certain bank transfers and you'll find that you and those who owe you money are less likely to forget.

Cons

As with any instant transfer services, you can often lose track of how much you are transferring since you are lacking the tactile sensation of handing someone cash. It is often easy to forget how much money you have in your Venmo account and it may sit there for a while until you check it again. That isn't much of a huge issue with smaller amounts but transferring that money to an account with interest accrual (no matter how little) is better than that money doing nothing!

### "Easiest Mobile Payment Solution"

June 14, 2020

4.0

There are many options for mobile payment these days, whether separate apps, or tied directly into your bank's online services. Venmo continues to be the easiest to use that I have seen. I use it for both personal and business use, as it is reliable and secure, and being able to split costs or send money at a moment's notice is incredibly handy for personal or even quick work purchases.

Pros

Extremely easy to setup and use. You can now link joint accounts, which is great for couples. Interface is simple and intuitive and leaves out confusing jargon or tech speak.

Cons

All users set up a specific Venmo username, so it can take a little work to find someone, even if you have their other contact information. The social sharing aspect is unnecessary, and some may find it invasive, but it can be easily turned off.

### "Venmo Review"

February 9, 2021

Good experience using Venmo, bad experience while dealing with customer support

Pros

This is great for students and everyone worldwide to send money to other people at the ease of a button by requesting people for payment

Cons

The customer support was not the greatest for this product and it took nearly 9 months for me to receive a Venmo card and I had to deactivate and make a new account to do so.

### "Bringing My Workplace Into the 21st Century!"

November 22, 2021

5.0

I have used other similar money services, but Venmo has become my go-to. I personally think it's easier to navigate than things like PayPal or CashApp. I've trusted Venmo with a lot of big ticket money transfers and have never been let down.

Pros

My position at work sometimes requires payments to be made directly to us as contractors. For years, the only ways we could accept payment was cash and check - two things that are not as easily available today as they were 20 years ago! I brought up Venmo in a team meeting as a way to receive payment, and it has made life tremendously easier for everyone... not to mention our clients are very happy as we do not release work without a down payment, and snail mail takes longer and longer these days. In addition to work, it's made my personal life easier as well. My sister has always been the queen of gift-giving. Now I get to send her money on Venmo and let her do her thing! I also used Venmo to pay a majority of the deposits on my wedding last month.

Cons

I have had my app crash a few times while trying to use it, which caused some stress with wedding deadlines.

Switched from

I preferred Venmo's layout and navigation.

### "Efficient and popular Money-sending app"

August 3, 2019

4.0

I like it overall. Most of my business team has it, and my co-renter in my office has it, so sharing business costs is super easy between us and our teams.

Pros

I like that it's not too difficult to use. Once you understand how it works it's easy to navigate. It's not hard to set up an account. It's also been around for a while and is very popular, so many people have the app, making it a convenient option when you need to send someone money but don't have cash (as many of us don't carry much of anymore).

Cons

I find the social part of it, where you/it posts about your transaction completely pointless. Why does everyone need to see what people were sending money for? It is easy to make every transaction private, but the entire idea of it seems pointless to me, but that's probably just one person's opinion. The only other thing I feel could be improved is the layout and cosmetic look and feel of it. It feels a bit dated compared to some other popular money sending apps

Reason for choosing Venmo

I did and I didn't choose it OVER another app. I use Venmo more, but I also keep the CashApp handy in case someone else has that and does not use Venmo. Venmo just happens to be what is used by the people I send money to on a more regular basis.

### "Venmo app review "

December 17, 2021

5.0

Pros

Venmo is the installment application of decision for sending cash to loved ones. It's generally utilized, you can send cash by whichever installment strategy you need, and beneficiaries get reserves in a flash

Cons

Venmo charges an expense for moment cash-out moves to your financial balance. There's a 1% charge — with at least a quarter and a limit of $10 — to move your Venmo reserves immediately to your ledger. If not you'll need to stand by one to three work days to accept your assets free of charge.

### "The Easiest Way to Spend and Recieve $!"

January 13, 2022

5.0

Pros

Venmo is extremely useful and user-friendly. It's the easiest way to split bills with friends, colleagues, and family (since hardly anyone carries cash these days), and you can even use it on a broader scale for business transactions. I would highly recommend downloading the Venmo app!

Cons

The only con I can think of is that there is a small fee of 3% if you want to instantly transfer money from your Venmo to your bank account. Otherwise, it takes 3-4 days for the transfer to process.

### "Second best app to send and receive money from anyone"

November 26, 2020

5.0

I say this is the second best app because I'm still waiting for the best one. However, this app is easy to use and works instantly. The account setup takes no time and you can link multiple banks accounts to it. You have the ability to order a Venmo debit card.

Pros

You can send and receive cash almost instantly without any effort. The mobile app lets you scan your friends Venmo QR code to add them as a friend and send money. You can request payment too. You also have the ability to use it on some websites that accept PayPal. You can also add comments or memos when you are making or requesting payments, this lets you keep track of all your expenses.

Cons

It takes two or three business days to transfer your Venmo balance to your bank account. If you want to do it instantly you get charged a fee which I don't like. Can't they just make it instant for every transfer. You also can't make international payments. Venmo doesn't offer any payment protection either, which means if they go bankrupt your money is not insured and you lose all of it. The default privacy setting shares all the payments you make with the entire world and not a lot of people know that.
