I use it to send and receive payments to friends and family. It's really just so easy and I couldn't imagine not having it. Cons The social aspect to the payments is kinda odd. It's weird to have everybody see your transactions. I know that you can turn them to private but sometimes you might forget to make them private and it's just kind of weird. Also, even if I make my sent transactions private, people can still see who is sending me money. It's just kind of weird. I can scroll and see the transactions of people who are still in my contacts list even though I haven't spoken to them in 7 years. It's just kinda odd. But, oh well. Easy for all ages and doesn't cost money if you use a debit card. Cons I can't really think of anything that I don't like about it. Pros Everyone has Venmo that we do work for in utah. It seriously makes things so easy when they forget their cc but have their phone on them. In my experience everyone has Venmo but not everyone is setup with Apple Pay, zelle, PayPal, etc. Cons I wish there was a tip option that prompted customers to leave a tip for my employees. One less thing for coach to do. Pros I really like using Venmo as a parent coordinator for my son's soccer team. There are times when we need to collect money for gifts for coaches or snacks for the kids. This system allows us to pay one person cashless with a record of the transaction. Parents are more willing to pay if they don't have to do it right on the field. This software also lets you do things privately or public. Their platform on a normal cell phone is easy to read and helps me to keep me organized. Cons I recommend that users set their platform to private. I wish it could just be that way for everyone. Pros I love the easy and convenience of sending money to someone/// whether its family or friends, making a purchase offline from someone, they have the security check to makes sure its who you want it to be. Cons It needs more perks.. .cash app has rewards you can earn, you are able to get paychecks on it. Unless i don't use it enough to know they have these kinds of rewards, maybe they should advertise more things. Also there's no way to cancel a transaction, or like reject the money.. say you bought someone lunch and they sent 10 and you were like don't worry about it. There's no way for you to reject the money, instead you have to deposit an then send it back . there should be like a decline button. One can scan the code or enter the user name to make the transaction. Transfer the money to and from my bank account is literally free as long as I do not need it to be done instantly. Cons I was confused in the beginning how to make a transaction. It was not clear what information was needed: the user name, display name or email address. Another issue is Venmo scam online but this is not the fault of Venmo. I didn't fall into the trap and I am not sure how Venmo deals with this kind of issue. Review Source Natasha F. It is fun and easy to use and almost everyone I know has the app. Pros I hate carrying cash and I think the majority of younger people agree with me that Venmo is a must-have application on phones. Venmo requests are a great way to get your money back for paying for something without having to text or call your friend. I love how I can deposit the money straight back into my bank account with no fee. Cons I didn't realize until a few months into using the app that they charged a fee for transferring the money to my credit card. Pros You can send money to anyone from a bank account or a card and they can then add it to any bank account or debit card. You can also get a debit card that draws from your Venmo balance until it runs out, and then charges whatever you set as a backup. You can also use that card to withdraw cash for free from a ton of ATM's at different banks all over the country. Cons You have to pay a fee to send money immediately from Venmo to your checking account, but it is free if you are willing to wait 1 to 3 business days and my transfers usually go through overnight. Switched from [PayPal](https://www.capterra.com/p/207944/PayPal/) None of my friends use PayPal, so I made the switch to Venmo for splitting things with them and sending money back and forth. You send money to a friend by entering their username, and they get the cash instantly. They can choose to send the money to any bank of their choosing for very little to no fees and it is very secure. It beats PayPal as there are no service fees with friends/family transaction. Pros Venmo is a very simple app that allows users to exchange, split, share, send, or receive payments easily without hassle. There are no fees to send and receive money from others and everything is fast and secure. Cons There's not much to say in terms of the cons as the software itself does what it needs to do, however I would expect a little bit more polish in terms of the application and website as it does seem a little old-fashioned.
