Cons It is important to manage your privacy settings properly or the whole world will see your transactions. You also want to make sure that folks don't make inappropriate comments for transactions as that will be public and may not be humorous to your boss. It's extremely convenient. Pros This product is very easy to use. It's quick to set up. Within minutes, you can be sending and receiving payments. It's flexible enough to use for transfer of funds from one person to another or to use as a platform for a larger event like a fundraiser. Cons I don't like how others can see who I paid and I can see who others paid. I don't mind other people seeing that I am using Venmo to make payments. I just don't appreciate the amount of detail that is shared about the payments. It is one of my favorite online payment processing companies. Pros I like that it is easy, free, and that many people use it. I also like that I can have multiple bank accounts attached to it so I can accept payments for work and for personal. Cons If you make a payment to the wrong person they give it back once but after that you are not going to get the money back. The adoption rate is high with customers and is a very low friction alternative to cash. Pros It is very easy to use and transactionally people get how to use it quickly. It is more secure than cash and I don’t need to worry about carrying change when I do small transactions Cons I don’t love that people can see all of the transactions of anyone that uses the app. I understand it is a social event and things like that, but perhaps keeping it to just friends is better? I also think having a trusted vendor option where if you have done so many successful transactions, you can get the funds transferred automatically would be much better for my small business cash flow. I still use it, but only if the person I am paying does not have another platform. Pros The best part about this platform is that you can pay your friends and family easily if they forget their wallet. Cons After their recent updates, it makes the platform more laggy and not user friendly. My friends and I agree that it is a hassle to use Venmo now and we prefer using Zelle if possible. It is fast, reliable, and secure. I would definitely recommend this application to everyone, especially students. Pros 1\. You can link your multiple bank accounts in Venmo 2. The way to transfer money to and fro bank accounts is so convenient. 3. No extra costs for transfer Cons 1\. Venmo charges money for immediate transfer to the bank. 2. Apps like Zelle are more reliable when it comes to instant cash transfers. 3. Venmo has a daily transfer limit which is less than $1000 4. It was painful to sacrifice 3% of a sale when I accepted a credit/debit payment. Venmo has made accepting card payments much more cost effective. Pros I love that my business can accept credit/ debit card payments without having to sacrifice income for convenience. Cons Venmo is still fairly new and businesses do not realize that they can pay for services with Venmo so I often have to explain it to them. It is not as intuitive as a regular payment processor. There are good promotions with cashback and custom emojis are a nice way to show what you are paying for. You can use a debit card provided by them. Cons Nowadays other money apps such as cashapp are engaging more on social media with young people offering better promotions, even free money. Venmo should try to do the same. The app interface is a little bit boring, it could use a revamp. It is especially helpful when it comes to personal use for paying/splitting bills with roommates. Instead of messing with checks every time you want to split something or pay someone back, you can simply send it over Venmo and it makes the process faster, easier, and simpler than it has been in the past. Cons The only negative thing I have to say is that I dislike that you can see what other people in your phone contacts have sent and received from others. No $ amount is shown, but I still think that is a little bit too much privacy lost. Therefore, if you're worried about privacy of a transaction, this would not be the way to go. Pros This is a software back by PayPal so it is very secure. The software is very easy to use you just have to create account and then you can transfer money between other users. You can search other users by username or phone number and if you have to search someone by username you have to confirm your payment by entering the last four of their phone number. Software Developer Computer Software Used the software for: 2+ years ### "A good personal way to send money" May 18, 2020 4.0 While I do think that Venmo features some fluff that it shouldn't the app is very well made, and it's easy to do what one wants to do with, which is go in and either pay of a request or make one of your own. The ability of also not having to be tied down to a specific number of cards or bank is also a good a big plus. Currently usage has been personal, and I don't see it changing for the time being Pros Venmo is a quite easy to use payment app when wanting to send money to a someone. It is easy to add a card and select which one to use in payment. Sending money and charging someone are also easy to do, with simply being able to select the amount and the money quickly arrives to the other party. The interface is nice too look at and navigate and the timeline of others activity is a little fun, while also giving users the ability to make private interactions if they do not want to deal with all that. Venmo is usually my go to for paying back my friends and splitting costs. Sharing the app is also a nice because the fact that it's not too complicated allows for others to quickly learn how to use the app. Cons There's not a lot of negatives to add but I would enjoy the option to minimize the timeline, while its fun it's not really something I look at a lot and definitely not the main subject of the app even though it’s your home page when you open the app. I also do wish there were a way to manage your friends and look through those you have added in a more organized matter than just a simple list. Cons The thing I like least is I wish it was more unique in the payment ecosystem out there. I wish it were integrated into e-commerce platforms verse its PayPal parent company. Pros It is my preferred method of sending/receiving money to friends. I mostly use it for this. If you are a business and looking to see if you want to use it, I suggest it. They only take 1.9 % and $.10 of your business for some protection, which is fair. Cons You must see in your area which app is used more, Cash App or whatever the other ones are. Venmo seems to be the go-to app in upper areas and Cash App for poorer areas. I really have enjoyed using Venmo. No complaints other than not everybody uses it and that they are always trying to get me to apply for their credit card. I don't want it!
