I almost Pros It enabled me to receive money from someone who was willing to give it to me. Cons The fact that there's the newsfeed of people paying each other annoys me on a deeply personal level. I can opt of that but the simple fact that I have to push an extra button to avoid it is both stupid and annoying. There is absolutely no situation in which I would ever want that in any kind of a newsfeed. Why should I have to take the extra step to not do it? If I ever want to let the entire world know that a certain transaction happened, I'll just screenshot it and post it to Twitter. Venmo allows you to quickly and nearly instantly pay and receive money. It sounds simple, but the application is something I use often. Paying and receiving money through Venmo is a flexible option for payment and can be used for any size purchase. I personally use it for anything from paying back a coworker for coffee to paying my roommate for my half of the rent. The user interface is very intuitive and you can link your profile to other social accounts to make it easy for your friends/debtors to find you. I also like that you can see who has paid who in the home page and that is easy to view the history of your transactions. September 27, 2020 5.0 Venmo is a must-have app to facilitate money transfers, and I can't imagine what would replace it. Pros Venmo is one of those things you would never have said you needed, but now that you have it -- how did you ever live without it? Hands down the easiest way to transfer money casually between friends and avoid giving the poor server 15 credit cards to run when only one check comes. Being able to request money is also a less awkward way to remind someone when they've forgotten to pay you. Cons I don't know why every transaction has to have a description with it, but it is what it is. It's not a big deal at all. I initially had some trouble setting up my account with the wireless carrier I was on, but their customer support team was awesome. The only thing that is weird sometimes is you can accidentally send money to the wrong person without being able to retract it, and sometimes you can even send money to an account that doesn't exist. Cons The biggest limitation is that this is designed for individuals only, and not companies/corporations. It would be great to easily transfer money to pay bills or to purchase items. However, the solution technically does not support that, even for nonprofit businesses. It amps up this stodgy industry by adding social elements. However I use it because most people are on it and it works well. Setup is quick, just link a bank account and you are ready to pay for that hot yoga class. Cons Needs to expand to other markets. No online payment, no in-store payments. In today's day in age, I don't carry cash on me so whether I need to pay a friend for a bill or if I need to send a friend money for the lunch that we paid on one card, Vemno makes it so easy to settle up payments. Cons I find that it can be hard to prove to others that the software is safe to use. Many people do not want an app to have a direct link to their bank account for fear that someone could get into the app and send money anywhere.
