I enjoy the interface and have never had any problems with the app crashing. It seamlessly integrates with your financial institution of choice. Cons Limited only by the amount of people who know the software; find it difficult to explain to elderly family members. I also think that the security features could be upgraded, although their Customer Service team is fantastic for reporting fraud. Review Source Kate B. I highly recommend as a way to send and receive payments, and I enjoy using the app. I also like getting a text when I receive money so I know instantly. Pros I love Venmo because it makes it so easy to send money to friends, make purchases during a pandemic, etc. It’s free, easy to use, and fun. Cons Because it’s a more social payment platform, you have to put a description in and I get tired of having to find an image to put with it or something cute to say about it. I can send over an invoice with the Venmo option and I can receive payments for me and my team in minutes. The number one positive feature is how fast it is to use! Pros Venmo is easy to navigate and has simplified sending money to team members and receiving money from clients with just a few taps. Cons There was nothing that I disliked about Venmo. The social media element is odd and unnecessary. If you’re a very small business with minimal bookkeeping and data needs, Venmo works perfectly well and is often very convenient for customers. Pros Venmo allows me to receive payments from customer quickly and conveniently. Venmo offers buyer and merchant protection for a relatively small fee. Descriptions can be entered as well to remind you what it was for. Additionally, you can maintain a list for your frequent payees. The security aspect of this application is extremely strong. Locking your screen will prompt for a PIN input or Biometric entry. Cons The Goods Purchasing feature is not clearly explained in the UI. Often times I've had people issuing payments for personal transactions, and they select that option. That charges the seller a small "insurance" fee incase the goods that were received are not what was described. Good for actual purchases, but for bill splitting it can be a head ache. December 13, 2019 5.0 Venmo is a quick and convenient way to transfer money between friends to split checks or each pay for their share of a group activity. When one person is arranging a field trip for a group of students for example, each participant can send their share of the money. Pros Venmo is great for quick and informal transfers of money. It also has a nice way to communicate with friends about money transfers. Cons It doesn't have any dispute resolution system. Once you have transferred the money, you are done. Pros The most important part of using this company is the trust factor. Can you trust this company with your money? Yes! I have never had a problem with my money, and transactions usually only take 1 to 2 business days. Cons I was a little frustrated that there is no way to take back money you send accidentally. If you accidentally pay the wrong person, that person has to send it back, that is the only way to get it back. That can get tricky. Venmo is a trusted and secure payment provider with one of the lowest fees or no fees. Pros This is the #1 payment tool I use to pay not only friends, but businesses, farmer's market, and other small businesses. It connects directly with my bank and I am able to security send payment to anyone. Pros Incredibly intuitive to use. Money is transferred to the venmo balance instantly, and making payments is so easy because of the unqiue username and QR code. Cons I think the UI could use some improvement. There are several windows you need to go through before making a payment. And too much confirmation. Also, I think that the choosing layout of the payment method is unintuitive. I use it most with my friends when we have a bar tab that we need to split up, so that we can put it on one card and then pay our exact share without having to deal with cash. Pros I love how easy and intuitive Venmo is. It makes it very easy to transfer money between people, which is useful in both my personal life and with business expenses -- you can split bills evenly and exactly without any difficulty. The social media aspect is also fun when you're using it personally, as you can see your friends' transactions. It's also backed up by a trusted payment network, so I have full faith in my security. Cons There is a 2-3 day processing delay when depositing Venmo funds into your checking account. You can pay a nominal fee to expedite this and have the funds available instantly, however I don't like to have to pay to access my money. I am able to easily receive and send money without worry or hassle. Pros Venmo makes it very easy to transfer money to others. Where we used to have to go through our bank and know people's account number, routing number, etc., venmo allows us to skip all of that process! With venmo, we are able to transfer money literally in seconds to anyone anywhere. All you need is a username! Cons I don't particularly like that Venmo publicizes my transactions. I know that I can choose to make things private, but since it is not an automatic feature, sometimes I forget to toggle the transaction to private. The Venmo card was very easy to get and to use and the QR code scanner saved lots of time to send invoices and payments to clients and others. Pros I loved how easy it was to send a receive payments of clients, friends and family. I also love how accessible it is. Cons I was not too big a fan of the social media side of the app and always felt I needed to double check and make sure payments were private so that it was not shared through social media. Most people use it which is nice but I am currently looking for better options to send and receive money. Pros I like that it is easy to send money from person to person. I like that there are security measures to make sure you are sending money to the right person. Also their debt card program is great so you don't have to lose money transferring it to your account. Cons The fees are a little high. I also don't like that there always seams to be issues when adding cards. I’ve only ran into one problem in over 2 years - triple charge but support handled and within 7-10 days my money was returned. Pros What I like most about Venmo is the quickness and effectiveness of the app. I also really like that they came out with their own VEnmo bank card for your transactions Cons It is hard to say there is anything I don’t like about the app; if I had to say there was room for Improvement it would be the search capabilities- it shows a ton of potential people when you type in a persons first and last name.
