I love how secure this app is and it's so easy to pay others as well. Pros I love how easy this is to use. I can send and receive money anywhere and anytime, safely. Cons I can't find any cons with this app. The only way I could imagine a con would be if I were out of cell range. Pros Venmo took what paypal did and made it user friendly and stripped it of all the unnecessary fluff. I like the newsfeed even though it may be a little to public for me. The app works, no hiccups. It's reliable. Cons I don't like how it defaults to emojis for payments. I use it for records sometimes and I dont want rent to be changed to a house emoji, for example. It is an extremely intuitive software--both online and the mobile app. The best part about it, is that it is extremely secure. I have not had any indication that there are security breaches, or have even heard about issues with security breaches. Whatever security features Venmo employs, they work! Cons This is extremely minor, but receiving a full deposit into your bank account can take up to 3 days. If you want to receive an instant deposit, Venmo takes a very small fee. This is to be expected, though, and I have to say that the fee is very minimal and, therefore, is worth it, if you want an instant deposit. I am able to provide my business services without someone needing exact change. Also it saves them from using a credit card. I have to pay fees for each credit card transaction in my other app. This allows a transaction to be completed without fees. Pros I love VENMO. I have no idea how I lived before this app. The other night I came home and went to pay the babysitter. I forgot to grab cash at an ATM. Not a big deal. I sent her the money through Venmo. I also have a new business. This app gives my customers another option to purchase their products. I also love that I can keep my money there or transfer it to the bank. Cons The biggest con is I wish there were more options in the software. I know it is somewhat new but I would love the option to review past transactions with more ease. It can be cumbersome. It is user friendly, has a clean design and is very easy to use. I would recommend this app to send and receive money over any other app. Pros This software is the best and easiest way to send and receive money in this day and age. You can send money to your friends instantly and don't have to worry about being charged for goods and services. Cons Don't get me wrong. This software is AMAZING. The only thing that they could do better is have the money hit your bank account sooner. But that is with every money sending and receiving software. Review Source MW Michael W. President Publishing Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Works well for personal use - so well that we are considering it for business use" April 22, 2021 5.0 I like the immediate nature of sending and receiving funds that Venmo offers, and if more of our vendors were signed up for it, we'd probably make immediate use of it rather than sending money via paypal. The banks have created their own version called Zelle which is a direct copy of Venmo. Given the choice, I'd prefer Venmo over either Paypal or Zelle. It's just super easy to use. Pros I was hesitant to put another cash-transfer app on my phone, but my kids convinced me it was the easiest way for them to pay me for their car insurance and cell phone bills. And easy, it is. We use Paypal frequently at the office, but I can see how Venmo would be just as fast and easy to use as an option to pay and receive money from freelancers and vendors. Cons There's very little to dislike, but I do abhor the public/sharing nature of the app. I don't need an app that tells me my daughter sent $8 to her friend for a cheeseburger. One would assume this awful feature is eliminated in any business use of the Venmo application. Review Source Crystal H. If you are looking for a way to send funds electronically, simply and easily, this is the app for you. Pros What I like most about Venmo is the simplicity. It is intuitive and easy to use. It is one of the best apps ever invented in my opinion. To be able to send money with a few clicks is so convenient. Also, during the pandemic I am joining yoga classes from home with my teacher across the country and I am able to easily compensate her for those classes. I am very grateful for that. I also like the small touch that you can comment back and forth with each other on payments. Cons I honestly have nothing negative to say about Venmo. There isn’t anything I like least about it. I also like that Venmo will issue a debit card that pulls funds out of the account. Cons I don't like the fact that you can't use Venmo outside the U.S. Makes for international travel very difficult. Pros I liked the news feed between you and your friends, I also really like how easy the Venmo App was to use and it's nice that they also have a Venmo Debit Card available and with different color choices. No more waiting for checks, no more invoicing. Keep the money in Venmo or transfer it to your bank. But be sure you turn off notifications unless you want all your friends to see how much money you are making. Pros Venmo is the latest millennial and younger people software. Going to dinner with a friend and need to pay in cash? If you only have your credit card so your friend needs to pay it all? You can send the money instantly to your friend and pay them back. Going shopping and you friend texts you to purchase them something? They can send the money right to your Venmo account, which can be transferred right to your bank account for free. You can even have fun with it and add little messages that will pop up in all your friends notifications. It’s even good in the business world, clients can pay you directly through Venmo and no invoicing and awaiting a check. The money comes through instantaneously. Cons Kids these days!! This is their new favorite software and they live showing off by sending their notifications of who they paid for what to all their friends. Yes you can hide this feature, but they don’t. Pros Venmo makes it very easy to transfer money to friends and work colleagues. I like that every person has a profile with a specific username so that you know you are transferring or requesting money from the right person. Additionally Venmo makes it easy to then transfer the money off the platform to a personal bank account with no fee. Cons It is somewhat annoying that no-fee transfers from Venmo to a personal bank account take several days, while the instant transfers require a fee. Review Source SM Simon M. And sometimes I just leave the funds in Venmo and use the Venmo debit card to pay for different services and earn some money back. Pros I love how easy it is to to get started and use Venmo. Also, I love how instant the transfer of funds is. And, I love how quickly I can connect my bank accounts on Venmo and transfer funds from the back to Venmo and vice versa. The app is easy to download and once you have linked your account to your bank, transferring funds is quite easy. Venmo has allowed me to pay people back at a moment's notice, which is convenient when you forget cash in a group setting. Altogether, having Venmo has helped me keep better track of my financial obligations. Cons Occasionally my Venmo app fails to sync with my bank account, so I cannot immediately transfer funds.
