Pros Venmo is a great application for quick and convenient payments. It's been widely used by individuals and shops etc. It is a free tool for sending money from banks. It has a low fee for credit card payments. Cons It doesn't support international transactions and there is no option to cancel payments. The payments are public. June 30, 2020 5.0 Pros I currently run an online Boutique and we use Venmo for payments. It is easy to use for any user from the age of 16-100! Anyone can figure it out because it is so user friendly! Cons Nothing!! It is by far the easiest software to use to request and send payments to one another. It is way easier to collect money that is owed or pay people. Much safer than carrying cash around. Pros I was stuck in Cuba unable to pull cash out of the bank. We met a couple from Canada that also used venmo and we were able to Venmo them for Cuban Currency. THANK YOU VENMO! I have also used this through my whole life to pay bills. I dont need cash anymore! Cons The new update made it harder to find where my overall account balance was. I am getting used to it. I think I liked the old dashboard better but I am getting used to it. Pros It's extremely easy to find people, transfer money and request money. The app allows linking to a bank account, which is free, or the use of a credit card, which incurs a small fee. Cons It's difficult to understand all of the restrictions and rules for using Venmo as a business. Not only that, you need a unique phone number for a Venmo account, and not all small business owners have a business phone. Haven’t had to contact their support team, yet, which is also a good thing. Pros The ease of use is out of this world. Venmo takes some cues from social media to assign a handle to users so transferring money between people is easy — no need for exchanging email addresses or other account informtion. The Venmo apps makes managing the funds received and sent simple. Cons Honestly, it’s all good. If anything, it would be cool to see bitcoin investing integration built in sometime in the future. The ability to also monitor the money you sent or received is perfect for confirming that money has been sent or received. Cons I don't like the fact that if you need to transfer the money to your bank account right away it can actually cost you a little to have it happen right away instead of waiting a few business days for it to transfer over. Venmo has come in handy many times for my small business and I really enjoy using it. Pros Venmo is a game changer in sending and receiving money. I have used this app for a very long time and I can't tell you how many times it has come in handy. the UI is so seamless and easy to navigate! Cons I don't love how long it takes to receive money sometimes, usually it is pretty quick but i have had funds be delayed 5+ days. I wish you didn't have to pay to get the money instantly transferred to your account. Pros I like how simple it is to send and request money through Venmo. Cons I don't like how hard it is to verify you're sending money to the right person. Normally a transaction that might take days or weeks for a check to come in the mail can happen within seconds. Cons I know that this app is susceptible to hacking. I want to make sure that any app linked to my debit and credit cards is extremely safe, so increased security would be my biggest improvement to this software. September 12, 2019 5.0 Overall, Venmo is a must have app if you are going to dinner, sharing hotel rooms, basically doing anything that would involve splitting the cost of something. Pros I love venmo, it makes transferring money so easy! It's hard to think of a time before venmo because no one carries cash anymore. It takes about 4 clicks to give someone money and only takes a few days to receive the money and works with almost all banks. Plus it's free! I figured how to use it easily and I believe everyone can find it easy to use. Pros I started using it recently on my phone. It is well managed and has many functions and it can be trusted since it comes under Paypal. Cons It is not so simple has Paypal but it is easy to figure out since it is similiar to Paypal.One of the main thing I hate is that in Venmo we can't pick our spending limit. It makes it simple to do transactions on. Cons Recently they rolled out an identity confirmation feature that only allows you to use your venmo balance to pay transactions if you input very personal information. I didn't feel confident sharing my information so I just "cash out" instead of having a running balance. Review Source Sharon C. Its a nice way to keep a paper trial of conversations and payments. It has a lower transfer fee than paypal. Highly recommend it. Pros Its universal, you can send money to anyone and the costs are low. Some users actually have a scan code so you can scan and pay via the app. I love my pink debt card with the chip; very secure. You can manage transefers and transactions easily. Venmo lets you connect to businesses and develop a relationship sending payments back and forth. Since the app and card is very social media savy, you can adjust the privacy toggles so only those you know can see you. You can also block users and stay safe. You can add your bank, favorite debit and credit cards as favorite payment methods. Cons While customer service is helpful and friendly, they could be a tad faster when answering questions. Cons I've heard other users experiences with fraud disputes and other similar incidents and they've said that it's a difficult process that doesn't usually result in getting the money back. The functionality and security makes it simple for even less technically inclined individuals. I also like how it can keep your money in the Venmo "bank" so you can send it to others instead of tapping into your linked account. Also the option to deposit the money is good, being able to choose the free option of direct to your bank account (takes 2 days or so) or pay a fee to have it immediately deposited to your debit card. Cons Sometimes it's hard to determine if the person you're sending to is correct, if they don't have a good profile set up. It can make you nervous when sending larger amounts of money since you have to type in their username and even the smallest mistake will send it off to someone wrong. As far as I know if you do that, the money will be gone and you can't retrieve it back but I haven't tried that yet. Review Source LK Lena K. Some people prefer other apps such as CashApp. But I still think Venmo is the best way to transfer money. It can also sync with your contacts/social media accounts so it's super easy to find someone to transfer money to without having to scan their code or find out their username. Pros I honestly can't remember what we used to do before Venmo. It is the easiest, most efficient money transfer app available. Anyone can use it, all you have to do is link your banking info to the account and you can send money to someone (even if they use a different bank than you). I have never heard of anyone being scammed on this app, it is extremely secure and I use it often. Cons The instant transaction fee can be a little expensive depending on how much money you are transferring. But I hardly need an instant transfer and understand that Venmo needs to make a profit too! It is nice to have that feature available though in urgent times. It’s very easy and has become the norm for most people where I’m from. It is great for gig economy although if I we’re doing more transactions. Love that they added the ability purchase crypto with funds in your account Cons If I were doing more transactions I wouldn’t use venmo. But they did start to roll out a business feature. It seems to only be useful from a business perspective if you have a ecommerce website and want to offer something besides PayPal (Venmo and PayPal are included in the same virtual transaction subscription) Pros The app makes it really easy to send money to friends/family without having to worry about checks or bank transfers. Its pretty simple and easy to find users so you can download the app, connect it with your payment info, and send someone your share of a restaurant bill before you even leave the table. You can also sign up for a free debit card that links to your Venmo account which is super convenient for situations where you can't send someone money virtually. Cons The social aspect of the app seems pretty pointless. Even though you can opt out of it, I don't understand why they even bothered designing a "news feed" showing your friends transactions.
