July 17, 2019 5.0 I love having the ability to use Venmo, this service is incredible and much needed for day to day life. Pros Pay your coworkers, friends, roommates, anyone! With the ease of this app you can send whoever you need to money without the need to deal with paper(cash, checks) this allows people to be paid for services rendered immediately. You can even make your payment to someone else anonymous or add emojis to make it more fun!Contacting customer service was also easy breezy as well, he helped me right away with a few emails. We love it! Pros I love that there are so many people who use Venmo and enables me to make payments for any type of transactions. I have paid all kinds of individuals and vendors because of this app software. Transferring funds is also simple. Cons I do think that there could be more bank options. I entered in my credit union and it didn't have that name as an option so it stored it as a big box bank. A little strange. Hope I don't face any problems that I have heard about. Pros Ease of use: it is very easy to sign up and get started. Secure: you can confirm your friends and then proceed with the payments They also have a growing user base, so makes it easy to find friends or partners Cons There is nothing that I have faced personally but I have heard from a few friends that money was lost between transfers and resolving it with customer care folks was a frustrating experience. There are times that my team members need money for expenses and Venmo is always our solution. For the most part it's free, unless you need immediate access to your money, which then there is a small fee. Plus, I've found some people actually prefer to use PayPal, or in this case Venmo, as they feel they get buyer protection. Overall, this is a service we always have on reserve just in case! Pros Free! That's right, it's free. You can't argue with free. While there are other ways to move money between people, I find this to be the easiest. Plus, is mobile, so you can take it with on your smartphone! Cons It does work off of the Paypal system, and while it, works for some people, it won't for others. I wouldn't recommend this a a payment gateway for most businesses, but it does work well in a crunch. Venmo doesn't allow on the spot card processing, while Square does. Venmo works great for prepayment and transferring of funds. Switched from [Square Payments](https://www.capterra.com/p/170278/Square-Payments-Processing/) Honestly we didn't switch, but instead use both together. Square is best to allow us to accept credit cards on the spot, while Venmo allows prepayment and an easy way to transfer funds. Review Source KH Karissa H. I have never been disappointed. I normally opt to get my money in a few days without venmo taking the small fee. But it normally arrives next day. Pros I personally love using Venmo for transactions over most other apps - like cash app and so forth. I love it because I can get money payments for my products and I don’t incur a processing fee. Cons The only con is that if you need the money right away, you pay a small fee to Venmo. But if you are willing to wait a day or two it will be in your bank account without losing a penny. Another huge plus is that nearly everyone has it, so it makes paying and receiving money as easy as can be! I have some private students who still prefer to pay other ways, but Venmo is my ideal. Pros I use Venmo to process payments through my teaching business. It’s perfect for both small and larger transactions. It also keeps record for you. Cons I don’t like that it charges you for instant transfers. Pros It makes splitting a bill or paying someone what you owe super easy and simple. I love the fact there is a bar code when you need to pay someone for the first time. Cons I wish there was a way to export a file so you can see your transactions. I personally do not use this for business but I know others who do and I know that would help them during tax season. I also do not like how you can not hold money in venmo without venmo will start taking interest out. Pros It's very easy to use- you can request payments from others that owe you money, or send quick easy payments to friends / families. Can be used personally and professionally, depending on your job! Quick, easy payouts to your bank. You can choose to get instant bank transfers for a small fee, or free transfers if you wait a day or two. Easy to invite friends / family to join. Cons Once you send a payment to someone, it's sent- which sucks if you accidentally sent it to the wrong person. Other than that, there's not much I dislike about Venmo. Picking up lunch for a coworker? Venmo. Selling a random piece of furniture on facebook marketplace? Venmo. Donating to a friend or colleague's charity fund? Venmo. It is so easy and user friendly! There are no fees to use it either! Cons At one point I was using venmo for my portion of rent and it identified the transaction as a potential scam. I had to stick to using venmo for smaller purchases and get checks for the large amounts of money.
