It seems safer with my money. Pros I have recently gotten my mother to start using Venmo after I have been using it for freelance payment as well as every day life. This is a quick and easy way to send money to friends, clients, and even to your kids (thanks mom). Cons Venmo definitely gives me the green light to spend more, but is an overall good product. I find it odd that people can see what others pay each other for, but other than that I have no complaints. I do dog walking on the side and often get paid by clients through Venmo. I also run a charity organization and some people pay for things through venmo. It is a quick easy & trustworthy way to request and send $. Pros It is insanely easy to use to transfer money between people - it also has a good name so people are not hesitant to use it and it is seemed trustworthy. My only complaint with the software is that it can be difficult for me to find other users who I am not already friends with. The name search function will result in an onslaught of users and the phone number search doesn't always work. Also, the photos can be hard to see and a lot of older users never got around to putting a photo up. Pros Ease of use, functional, social and clean look Cons Finding other Venmo users who you aren't already friends with is difficult. It limit transactions being complicated. Pros You can easily verify who you are sending/receiving when setting up transactions. Also is great to see a social media wrinkle to the app to make money transactions more entertaining. Cons It does not have a "touch ID" feature. Even though you exit out of the app, the screen can still be easily viewed by someone random. It is not difficult to use, although it has a few smaller flaws in my opinion. The speed of transferring money is by far the best pro. It's also super easy to find other businesses/individuals. I would recommend it! Pros This platform makes it super easy to transfer money. The biggest plus is the speed of how quickly users can transfer the money they receive to their bank account. It allows instant transfer, which makes it easy for businesses/individuals to receive payment or issue payment the same day. Cons Occasionally, if you have two or more bank accounts set up and aren't paying close attention, it may pull from the wrong bank account. Additionally, you have to wonder how safe and secure your bank account information really is, especially when dealing with larger business accounts. Review Source KK Katie K. I use it for receiving payments for online orders and to split bills in the home. It's so much easier than writing checks. Pros I love that you can scan a QR code or easily search accounts on Venmo. It's easy to find people and for people to find you but your profile is still private if you want it to be (you can make all of your transactions viewable to only you). Cons I have had some trouble in the past adding people as friends. I wish you could also remove people from the frequently used list. There is a name on there that I would no longer like to be associated with on the app but since I used the app with them frequently in the past, they're stuck in my list. Also, I wish the standard transfers were a little bit faster. My bank doesn't participate in the instant transfer so I have no choice but to select the standard; it can take several days for the transfer to be complete. Review Source DF Dennis F. In as little as 3 business days the funds will be successfully transferred/ accepted. This app also helps to keep track of expenses with the notes attached to transactions. Cons There is a 3% charge to use linked credit cards as payments. Not a deal breaker, but something to consider. Cons The biggest con with Venmo is that it is not as widely used as competitors such as PayPal. This means that it cannot be integrated with other software as easily and not all people are on the app already. I wish I had found out about how to hide my transactions from the world sooner, but otherwise venmo has made paying people back/requesting money without being too awkward a lot easier. Pros venmo is very intuitive to use. When opening the app for the first time, it was really easy to understand how to use Venmo. It seems like the app could almost be pared down - it feels a bit creepy to be able to see other's purchases and paybacks, especially when I'm not sharing my own updates. the emoji messages are cute, though. Cons Venmo has a lot more potential, which is exciting to see. Watching the venmo system unfurl for the metro in new york city has been especially interesting. I wish there was a way you could 'send' intangibles with your payment to your friend. Pros Very easy to use, no fees when you do1-3 days processing, can have transactions private or public, can send request for money, search people based off phone number vs handle. Cons One con the business app side does not offer small banks. I have mission federal Credit unction and they are not an option for the business app. Bummer, Reason for choosing Venmo Venmo is way easier then PayPal invoicing. Cons My cons were I had funds in my account I was unable to use my debit card anywhere. I contacted customer service they were unable to fix the issue I had to send my balance to a friend to have it re sent through a different platform. It took a week to fix the issue on vemno.
