Pros I appreciate how readily available the QR code is from the app, as well as the fact that one can print it out and it can be scanned by a customer without interaction. Cons The software over the last year has been slower when used on a mobile phone. It opens very slowly and typically will force quit before I am able to request/make payment. Pros I've used Venmo for a long time and always enjoyed the ease of using it with family and friends. When we have gatherings and someone picks up all the food, it's easy to just Venmo them for my part. However, lately we have been using Venmo to do business with small businesses! Contactless pickup has allowed me to venmo people for products. I love that most everyone has this app and it's easy to make payments to them. I recommend downloading this app if you want what majority of people use, at least in my state. Cons There really isn't anything that I don't like about this app. As mentioned in the pros section it's easy to use and all the money transfers right to my bank! I'll sometimes just keep my payments in my Venmo app and use what has been sent to me to make payments to other people! It's wonderful. Like I said, I wouldn't trust it with larger transactions (over $100) Pros The reason we still use this service is because it is very well known and people seem to be okay sending small amounts through the service. There is also no service fees, which is nice. Cons I would not use this platform/software if you are wanting to transfer large amounts of money. We only use it for smaller transactions. I have honestly had several cases where we had to dispute some of the charges, and if that is the case, we would rather them be smaller amounts of money that won't hurt our bank if we don't have. I would not trust this service with larger than $100 transactions. Pros It has never been easier to transfer money. I no longer even own a checkbook or carry cash. I can instantly transfer money to friends for any reason - going out to eat, planning vacations, etc. I've even used it to pay the architect who is doing renovations on our house. Overall, it's very compatible and most people have it which makes it even easier to use. Pros I love being able to have money at my fingertips; almost as though I have actual bills in my hand. This works great around the office with my team as well as with my clients. Cons The fee! I know it's not that huge of a deal, but I don't like having to give up a percentage to get my money faster. I prefer faster just to make sure that everything goes through correctly, but I really hate the fee that comes with it. It’s easy to navigate. I would just say set your transactions to private if you don’t want everyone to know- How much you’re paying and to who and for what? Pros I like the fact that you can send and receive money instantly. And I like thefees are low per transaction. Cons I don’t like how public the information is to everyone. And if you don’t see a little button to click to make the transaction private everyone is in your business. " December 1, 2020 5.0 It's one of those apps where you wonder why it took so long for someone to invent. It is so easy to use. You can't go wrong with Venmo. Pros Sending money has never been easier. There are so many instances where I use Venmo both personally or professionally. I use it to send money to friends when we are ordering food, or if my coworkers and I are all pitching in on a gift for someone at work. It takes seconds to send money. They provide statements for you as well. You can also keep money in your account to pay for things if that's something you'd like to do, or you can connect it directly to your bank account. Cons You have to add something to the comment section in order to send money. I am not exactly sure why. I've always found it easy to use and a much more convenient option than cash or checks. Pros Venmo is extremely convenient. I love that you can both request money from and pay other people, and tag payments with info. It's more convenient in a lot of ways than paying with cash, which is what I did when I used to split rent with roommates. Cons I have to go in and check how much is in my Venmo balance, rather than having it go straight to my bank account. Sometimes transactions add up and I might have a couple hundred dollars sitting in Venmo that I didn't know I had access to. It's a simple thing to send money from the Venmo balance to the bank account, but I wish it did all that automatically instead of manually. Review Source TN Timothy N. Pros My favorite thing about Venmo is the ease of use and transfer options. I can transfer money to my bank instantly for a small fee. Cons While this software is great, I'm frequently upset with the amount of glitches I find in the app. This has waned over the past year, for it was so glitchy in 2020 I would sometimes have to sit on the screen after paying to let it load for up to 5 minutes. Pros No fees for payments. That means it is cheaper being paid there than for example on paypal, square or many other competitors. Cons It is very vocal and public about the payments you do or receive. For many causes it is a good thing. Like collection for candidates or public stuff like that. November 6, 2020 5.0 The benefits of having Venmo for a business is that you can add a certain amount of funds to the card for employees to use. Pros Venmo is such a great app to be able to pay people and to receive money. The best part of this app is that you can get a debit card to use anywhere to make purchases, and it comes fast in the mail once you order it. Transferring money from Venmo to your bank is fast and easy and the surcharge isn't much at all so that helps! Cons The only con to Venmo is that you are unable to add your own funds to your Venmo account. It's not one of those apps that just came out and you need to ask people to download it and use it. A lot of my colleagues already use it and are familiar with it. It's free to use and it connects to any bank account of your choice. You can send or receive money from anyone. It's probably one of the easiest apps to use when dealing with money transfers. When transferring money you can make it public or private depending on the situation. You and the other party are the only people that can see the amount in the transaction. Cons If you want to send money instantly you have pay a small fee, other than that you have to wait one to three business days. Some may find the format confusing at first. The overall simplicity makes sending payment a breeze. Pros I used this to pay service providers for various services offered and work completed for our company. It was very easy to use. An invoice is received and a payment is completed. Cons In terms of sending payment and that side of the service venmo provides, we have no real issues. The simplicity, the solid records, and overall process seems to work on the payer side.
