Pros Venmo has made personal money transaction a breeze. It is also much easier to buy and pay for things locally in offerup or marketplace. Best of all, it makes contactless transactions very easy. Cons App like these probably make it easier for scammers to scam people. Hopefully, Venmo takes this issue seriously and have enough verification steps in place to avoid such scams. Pros It is a very convenient way for some of my customers to pay their invoice and it helps to alleviate the credit/debit card surcharge that I normally charge if using my payments processor. Cons The only really available option to add your own funds to your Venmo card is to transfer money from an external account at another bank which takes Two days to receive and process. Easy to pay or request money take away that headache of having to take out cash. Pros Venmo is the only app I use to send money to friends or colleagues. I found it to be a secure solution and easy to connect to your bank. Cons The app experience has been great no real complaints. Maybe just one but not much of a complaint perhaps something to improve on which is deducting from your bank quicker than having to wait several days to see it on your bank statement. Reason for choosing Venmo We chose Venmo as an add-on to our current Merchant Service provider. Many clients have Venmo and find it easier to use than their credit card and prefer to pay with it. Overall, it is also easy for the business side of things, but I wish there were detailed reporting and tracking options. I never carry cash, so as a means of transaction Venmo is very important as a substitute. It is super helpful that it can link to my bank account without transaction fees. They can either spend them immediately with their Venmo debit card or send them to their bank. It shows a convenient transaction history the allows you to easily locate and verify specific transactions between friends or anyone who has your Venmo ID. Cons It has slow withdrawal times (unless you're willing to pay a fee to withdraw it quicker), which promotes users to spend their funds in-account, either sending it back to other users or via a debit card linked to your account, which they will mail you if requested. Otherwise, you either have to wait a couple days, or give them 1% of your money in order to have access to it. Review Source MC Marina C. Cons There is a small charge when you transfer your venmo money back to your bank, but it is so small that it doesn't really matter. I like that you can request money from others that owe you and remind them. It makes splitting costs easy. Cons Sometimes I worry about the security of my information, but I have yet to have issues. I don't like that there is a "news feed" type feature where you can see friends' activity. Cons There is really nothing that I can think of that I would change about this software. However, I have been unable to unlink it from facebook. It can be a drawback when in a hurry. I have found for my needs though Venmo is fine to use and I have been happy with the app. Pros I do find the application easy to use and move money as needed. The ability to scan a persons QR code is great so you don't always need a user name to type in. Never had a problem adding or using the funds when loaded. Cons What I do not like is some of the added fees and have found when purchasing gas there can be an issue with the vendor. It is very helpful to transfer funds within minutes in any business/ transaction. Pros In this fast banking age, sending money through bank to anyone who doesn't have the same bank account is difficult. It might take days. But Venmo made it super easy and crazy fast. Highly user-friendly interface and community like the app to see your friends is really great. Cons Sometimes the social community section of the app looks very confusing. I find it eliminates the need to carry cash, as it is an easier way to split payments with friends or family. Venmo allows me to quickly and efficiently send and receive money. Pros Venmo is the best payment service software around. Venmo makes it super simple to send and receive money with friends and family. Rather than trying to divvy up payments on a purchase amongst several people. Venmo makes it more efficient to have someone pay and then others send them money via Venmo, rather than trying to repay with cash. I highly recommend using Venmo. It has made money exchanges more efficient and less time consuming. Cons There are no real cons I have run into yet using Venmo other than the only stipulation is that the receiver must also be on Venmo. I like having it available. Cons Venmo is not my preferred option for electronic payments. The setup is a bit of a hassle and so is the time it takes for direct to bank payments.
