It adds convenience to pay others or request payment. Scan a QR Code or send via a user ID. It also helps with school reimbursements. Cons Nothing to dislike. Venmo is easy, user-friendly, safe, private, and offers some fun emojis to add to your comments about payments. Pros It a great money transaction application, It makes life so much easier now. I can now send or receive money without any hassle. The application have very little to no transaction fees which makes it better than many other similar category applications. Every little transactions can be made now, before splitting up money at restaurant or sending some one quick money for their service was not an easy task but now with Venmo it became easy. Cons Need little more privacy when it comes to showing the transaction status to others. Need more features such as showing monthly transaction history. Pros I began using venmo when I started offering services remotely during the pandemic. Venmo helped me accept payments virtually on a trusted platform that my clients were already familiar with. Cons I really dislike the social media aspects of this app. It is incredibly distracting and appears unprofessional to me. It's so easy to pay people and get paid by people. Not difficult at all. Pros What a convenience! It's SO EASY to split checks, pay vendors, charge people, etc. And it keeps track! Love Venmo- has made money transactions soooo much better. Cons Nothing! I get why they charge a small fee for quick turnarounds. Get on board already! Pros The absolute BEST part of the software is that it's completely free. For how convenient it is, and how many people are on board, they could charge folks for it! Cons I'm going to have to really dig for something that I don't like about Venmo... but sometimes it can be annoying to find people and send them money if they're not already connected to me? We will continue to offer and suggest Venmo as an alternative payment option for our services. Pros Venmo is a super easy and simple way for clients to pay for their services. Most consumers do not carry cash and the younger generation is very used to paying for everything electronically so Venmo is a great addition to our payment options. Cons When first opening the business option for Venmo, it was free, just as is the personal account. Then after a few months of using it, they added a convenience charge for business transactions. I would recommend this app to anyone, particularly since it's so common! You can also make your transfers between friends private. Pros I love that most of my friends have the app and its easy and convenient to split things! For example, if we all pitch in on a purchase, it's easy to send money to one another! It also can conveniently connect to your bank if needed. Cons Every once in a great while, someone doesn't have the app. I find this to be rare! The instant transfer fees can be frustrating. Pros Venmo is one of the greatest inventions of my generation. It allows you to easily send and accept money from any other person who also has venmo. It makes lunch with coworkers so much easier. Cons The only negative thing I can think of is sometimes when I try to pay someone, their user name doesnt come up right away. It takes a few seconds for the app to populate the name. I've been testing the waters with Venmo for business, but clients aren't quite used to the idea yet. Pros Everyone has Venmo, and in social settings it's much more popular than PayPal or Square for person-to-person transfers. I love that I no longer have to worry about carrying cash to split bills! I think Venmo's popularity has the potential to make it a great payment option for my business, once user opinions begin to see that as more acceptable. Cons Venmo definitely has the perception of being for social transactions among friends, rather than for business purposes. I find that clients don't trust it like they do PayPal yet, but I think that will come in time! It's also very easy to find older transactions without going through a lot of extra screens or reports. I like that you can use it for shopping at different retailers as well. Pros I like how easy the software is to set up. Connecting to my bank account, finding people who are using it, transferring money back and forth all works very smoothly and is easy for just about anyone to understand. Not only for me, but for friends and clients who are less "tech savvy". Cons The lack of security is kind of concerning. While it is easy to find people, if you accidentally send money to the wrong person, there is very little that can be done. If there are issues with a payment claim (for instance, paying for something but later a dispute arises for any reason) unless both parties agree to a refund, someone can be holding the money and Venmo will not credit or reverse payments. Granted, this is typically for use between individuals, but stuff happens, and unfortunately there are no safeguards in place for this. Review Source Monika C. Pros I have been using Venmo for the past six years and never once have I though about switching to another app that can transfer money. Venmo is easy to use, customizable, and very reliable. Another amazing thing about Venmo is the amount of people that use the app. There are so many people that use the app so you'll have the opportunity use this app with almost anyone one of your friends, family, or co-workers. I have use Venmo to splitting dinner bills and paying rent to paying for groceries. Cons I have been using Venmo for the past six years and don't really have any bad things to say. It's easy to create a free account and then send money from your bank account at no cost. Transactions are reasonably quick (1-2 business days), and the platform makes it fun to share and see friends' transactions as well, including emoticons to describe the purposes of any particular transaction. Cons It's mildly frustrating that you can't send money from the website—you have to login to the app to do it (but you can move your received funds to your bank on the website). Programs like Venmo have helped in this area. Pros It’s free! Provide your phone number, QR code or username to customers. There are additional security measures if you need them. Cons Being hit with a fee for credit payments isn't great, but it is about consistent with most stores. It would be nice if the the fee would be wave if you spent over a certain amount. You can pay anyone registered to the platform from anywhere. Pros Venmo makes it easy to send to and receive money from family, friends, and even contractors who you hire to do work around your home. The way it works is similar to PayPal except you use usernames instead of emails and fees are much lower. Also it the look and feel of the software is more like social media than just simply an online payment system. Cons There isn't really much not to like about it except when you use your credit card you will incur fees unlike if you use a routing number and bank account. Also, you must be able to download the app on your phone. Otherwise, you will not be able to use this software. Venmo payment functions only works in the app. Review Source Erin A. March 31, 2021 3.0 Pros The best parts of the software are that it is the easiest to use out there. Requesting money or paying someone can be done within 5 minutes. Linking bank accounts is also simple and only needs to be done one time. Additionally, it is really well known so most people that you need to pay do have it. Cons It takes awhile to load the app itself. Sometimes there is a lag between opening the app and actually being able to use it.
