Principal Architect - Technology Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Fast and easy to use money transfer platform" December 16, 2021 5.0 I have been using Venmo for more than a year now and I must admit that I have no complain at all about this lovely app. The event which made me fall in love with this was when I transferred money to a wrong account and then I had to call up their customer service. I had a very nice experience speaking with the customer service and was happy to receive my money back after a few days. Couple of areas that can make this app super user-friendly is to consider the UI design for larger screened hand-held devices being operated using a single hand and be able to search and identify the right user a little more efficiently. Overall, I love the app and will be happy to recommend anyone looking for a payment platform for transactions of any amount. Pros Performance, ease of use, putting a memo while transferring money to individuals, monthly statements. Cons Searching for users using their ID is not as user-friendly as I would expect. It's a great, straightforward product that has vastly simplified an otherwise fairly irritating task. Pros I use this in both a personal and business capacity. It's super easy to use and it makes paying back friends, etc. a breeze. As a mobile-based platform, and with an easy-to-use app, I can quickly and efficiently take care of those little expenses throughout the day. Cons The initial setup of your bank account can be a little problematic. I had some difficulty logging in initially, but got it sorted out quickly with the help of customer service. Makes ordering for a group very easy and hassle-free. Pros This app makes transferring money very fast and easy. It was easy to set up, and it's easy to send/receive money. Transferring the money into your account is incredibly quick and easy as well. Cons I don't like that there is a fee for expedited money transfers even tho the basic transfer is just as quick. Prefer payment in terms of Venmo over cash or CC, since it gets deposited straight into my bank. Pros You can pay pretty much anyone; I've seen Venmo used for fundraising, for rent, and payments for work, but also for 1-1 friend payments and normal, everyday financial interactions. It's broad usage -and the security tied with it all - makes it one of the most useful apps I have. Cons I just don't like that it freezes every time I open it on my phone; it's like a 25 second freeze, every time. App is very user friendly, and easy to get accustomed to. Cons When you initially download the app, setting up your account takes a little while. Personally, I have used and trusted venmo to pay rent and when on cross country vacations! Pros It seems like there is are new payment and money transferring applications coming out every week, however I will never stray from using venmo. It is incredibly easy to deploy and use. Not only when you have an already established account, but also when creating a new account. I know multiple people who have had fears of creating and setting up new accounts involving their finances, however venmo has always proved to be worth it. Cons The lead favorable feature is the inability to have a resolution when money is sent to the wrong person. I wish the payment remained in a sort of "pending" state for atleast a few minutes in the case that the wrong user is selected to pay. The fees are comparable to other payment platforms for business, and the platform is also easy to use personally. Pros This payment app is the one that is most widely used by consumers, which makes it easy to have widespread adoption. Cons Some of the features in the app are not as intuitive as the parent company, PayPal. There is a slight learning curve and potentially some security risks, as the default payment transmission type will have the "description" of the transaction publicly available. Now has support for joint checking accounts, so you and your partner can have separate Venmo accounts even if you share money. It has offers and cash rewards often. It makes mobile transactions easy and safe. I will continue to use this software for business and personal! Pros User-friendly! Venmo is my favorite software to make a mobile payment. Each month, I am sent a monthly report that outlines my Venmo transactions. I can easily keep track of my transactions based on the monthly reports. I also can make a transaction private, public, or between friends, which gives me the flexibility to make all of my transactions private. Venmo also includes a description box, so that, I can include a brief description about the transaction. Cons There is nothing that I dislike about the software. Pros I primarily use Venmo to request and pay friends and family for things like eating out or activities and for selling on online marketplaces. I like how quickly I can make a transfer to a friend or even to someone I do not know and the Venmo will make sure I am paying the right person. Cons When participating in a transaction with someone that is not a friend or that I have not interacted with yet, Venmo sometimes asks for the last 4 digits of the phone number of the person I am paying. It has simplified paying in large groups and removes some of the stress that comes with owing someone money. Pros Venmo is extremely easy to use and comes in handy very often. I always feel secure when using Venmo, and the transfers always happen quickly and smoothly. I also like that you can both pay and request money from someone. It’s easy to quickly pay someone back or have them pay you so that you don’t have to keep track of who owes who. It’s also helpful that you can review your payment history with different users in case you forget who you paid and how much. Cons In some ways, Venmo seems as if it’s attempting to be a social network. When you log in to the app, the first thing you see are the different purchases your friends (or people you are connected to) have made. I could do without this feature. Just a couple days wait to send myself any money. Always quick and easy to input a few dollars and send to my friends. Will always use as its simple quick and fun. Pros Super easy to add a contact and send that person money with just a few clicks. Its so easy to use and quick and simple to setup. Sign in. Import contacts. Input the dollar amount you want to send or request and send. You can link a bank or debit card and pre-load funds if you wish. Cons Not a ton of features and it always requires a note. Sending instant transfers are little more expensive than other apps back to your bank account but if you can wait 3 business days there is no fee. If someone pays you you also have to pay from your account. you cant use any exisiting money someone just sent you. It makes having an outing with friends easy without having to have cash or exact change. Makes transactions between couples who don’t have joint bank accounts easy. I even use it at the farmers market! Pros It is so very quick and easy to use on the go. You don’t have to carry cash. It’s quick to transfer money too. Cons I don’t really know if there’s much that I’d personally change. Maybe have all transactions hidden automatically and public if allowed. I can't see doing without it and am grateful for the service and ease of use. Cons I wish everyone used Venmo but there still are some that don't and that it was even more widespread than it is currently.
