I have used it to accept payment for items I sold and take payment from friends that I loaned money too. Pros I like that Venmo allows me to get paid for items I sell. I can also have friends and family easily pay me back if I cover the cost of something for them. One great thing Venmo allows is to send money without having to pay a fee. Cons Crypto is the biggest con for Venmo. Once you sell anything, it takes 4 to 5 days to verify your transaction. I would not recommend using the crypto feature of Venmo. Review Source Annetta L. Pros Not using it because it's not a secure platform. Cons It's not secure and customer service doesn't help when fraudulent activity happens to a user's account. They also prevent you from deleting your own account and refuse to answer attempts at contact or to obtain further information regarding disputes. I called customer service and spent 1/2 hour on the phone with them adding a debit card and the payments were still declined. Customer service indicated my bank account information and debit card information was just fine and that there were some "security issues" which they couldn't explain and after all of that could only indicate my option was to keep trying. When faced with issues, customer service is kind, but you have to be patient. The tickets go into a queue and you have to wait patiently for an email answer, which can go to your junk mail. Pros Venmo is fast and easy to set up. Within a few minutes you can start taking payment for services and products sold. You can get paid in several different ways and even if the person doesn't have their card available. Cons If you close down an account and open a new one, it is difficult to link accounts and get the debit card to work. You cannot have multiple business accounts attached to your personal account. If you change the name of the business it can be difficult to change over.
