It's fast and secure - two of the most important things with digital transactions. Pros 3 years ago if you would have asked about digital payments, 9/10 people would have said PayPal. That is completely different today. Venmo is widely recognized as the best alternative to PayPal, and for good reason. It is safe, secure, fast, and widely accepted. You can send payments quickly to users or accept payments as a business. There is no reason to use anything else except for Venmo. Cons While using support is likely not going to be needed very often, when you do need to reach out to support, it can take some time before your issue is resolved. It's easy, quick and almost everyone I know is on it so sending or receiving payments from friends and family is a breeze. Pros It's the easiest way to split grocery bills, restaurant bills, events with friends, paying for workout classes, and more. Also it's free to have your Venmo balance deposited into your bank account within 1-3 business days, and in my experience I almost always have the money within 1 business day. Pros I like most that it's so easy for my boss to pay me through this and then transfer it to my bank. I not only use it for work but I use it for personal daily tasks as well because of how user-friendly and quick it is! Cons I like least that you can see whos paying who. It's safe, if paying from a checking, it's FREE. If you do want to make a payment to a friend/family from a CC, there is a small fee. I usually get my money within 1-2 days max. Pros Venmo is super easy to use. It can't get any easier to receive and send money to your friends and family. Cons N/A. This is a great APP. Use it for personal use only, I haven't had experience with using this for business payments. It is great to use in the workplace whenever you need to pay someone or request money from them. It also has a fun news feed so you can see what your friends are doing. It seems very secure. Pros Venmo is a very easy app that you can use to transfer money to and from other people. It is secure and easy to learn how to use. I can receive money and pay my friends back easily. Pros It is truly amazing that there is something like Venmo when it comes to getting paid easily. I use Venmo constantly with my roommate. I can pay him back if he buys something for me when I forget my wallet, or I can send my portion of the utilities straight to his account. Another reason I love it is because if I am going out to lunch and my coworkers want me to pick something up for them, all they have to do is "Venmo" me the money. Cons The downside is that there is a limit to how much you may be able to send each month. I use it all the time, mostly to send money back-and-forth between friends, or split costs. It’s so convenient, it’s hard not to love. Pros Venmo makes it incredibly easy to send and receive money. It’s easy to set up, easy to offer an extra payment method, which keeps increasing in popularity, and buyers don’t need to have cash or cards with them, only their phone. Businesses will definitely get a few additional sales on the convenience factor alone. Cons Fees are the cost of convenience these days, and vendors pretty much have to play by the rules set by the payment processing company. It’s still worth having a couple digital/touchless forms of payment that you accept in today’s world. But do your research first: does most of your audience prefer Venmo or Cashapp or Apple Pay, for example? Review Source Brionne G. I pay a few people the same amount every month and it would be so nice to be able to automate that and not have to set a calendar reminder each month to make the payments. I've never had any issues and will continue using Venmo as long as my friends, family and clients are as well! Pros I love that I can send money to friends, family, clients and colleagues so fast and easily. Venmo has also added some extra security to make sure you're sending the right person money which, while adding an extra step, is still incredibly beneficial. I also like that you can limit who sees your payment, public, friends, or private. Some things are fun to share, others are better kept private, so this makes it very versatile. Cons There have been a few scams in the news lately, so that's obviously not ideal. However, completely expected with such a widely used monetary app. I also wish you could associate more than one bank account and/or payment method to once account (maybe similar to paypal). I have business bank accounts and transactions that I would love to do out of only one Venmo account but since only one bank account can be synced I've had to create two Venmo accounts, one for personal and one for work (I had to use two separate phone numbers for this as well). Anyone can do it! Pros This product is so easy to use! We are able to accept payments and pay bills + invoices directly through this app. Its very easy to track transactions and the transfer of funds is so seamless. Cons The only thing that is sometimes distracting is seeing other people's transactions. I wish there was a feature to turn that off. It is easy to sign up with and they now offer you a Venmo card at sign up that you can use when you are out and about. Pros I like how easy it is to pay for items as well as send money to others. I also like that you can now get your own Venmo card Cons There’s nothing that I dislike about Venmo. Pros I initially started using this as a backup to CashUp, now this is my go-to. I love the pay with Venmo feature with certain online stores it makes shopping online easier. I also have the debit card they offer which has been useful. Cons It takes forever to get things resolved. I wish there was a chat option for contacting customer service. February 12, 2021 4.0 Pros Venmo is a very user firendly app that allows users to send and request money. It is also a type of social media where you can make your transactions public and add friends. When you choose to make your transaction public, Venmo will never show money amounts, it will just update your friends about who you have sent money to and they can see the message. There is an option to keep these transactions private as well and the features are easily accessible. Cons One thing that led me to stop using Venmo for a while was that there was some sort of security scandal and money balances were being compromised. I quickly transferred all of my money to my bank account and unlinked it. After a few months, the bugs and issues were resolved. For this reason, it is my goto for peer to peer payments Pros I love this app. I use it to safely conduct financial transactions with people that I buy and sell things from on the internet. I love how easy it is to use, very clean interface etc... It does not try to be many things, it just does what it sets out to do (payment platform) and does it very well. The fees are also much lower than paypal, so that is another great reason to use it Cons My only gripe with it, (and this may be due to my age) is the social media aspect of it. I am not sure why you need to tell your friends or the world who and what you are sending money to. During that time, I received money from several agencies and sent money to a few vendors. I was able to track the amount of money I received for the year when tax time came so that made it easy to add up all of my income to send to my accountant. Pros I enjoy using Venmo for personal and professional use when appropriate. Venmo is great for getting money to employees, exchanging between colleagues and getting reimbursement. I like that the payments can be sent anonymously. The money deposits quickly into your account- usually 24-48 hours and there is a feature to pay more to have it deposited sooner. Cons There's a social media aspect of the program where the standard privacy setting allows everyone in your contact book on your phone to see your posts. You can simply change that privacy setting.
