September 4, 2019 5.0 Venmo is a great product and has solved lots of logistical issues dealing with collecting money for baby showers and gifts etc. It allows everyone involved to pay what they can without having to make change or going to the ATM just to get cash. Pros I like the convenience of not having to always carry cash to pay friends and having it be digital allows me to keep track of my spending when I pay friends. No more lost payments or trying to remember if I paid someone, it's all there in the app. I also appreciate how it can be installed on many different devices and Venmo is able to connect to your bank account for seamless transactions. Cons I tried to help my mom get set up with Venmo but her phone (Galaxy Avant- an older phone, I know) said that the Google Play Store doesn't support Venmo on this device. I can easily make payments between friends not to mention more and more businesses are adopting accepting Venmo payments as well. Cons The mobile app is fairly easy to use but the previous version was way better than the current one. They switched up the interface and now it seems a lot more glitchy. Some merchants allows to pay for online transactions, sometime it shows under paypal -> Pay with venmo. We can see the friends and their activity. We can use the Venmo card wisely and we can track the purchases Pros It is a Very user friendly app. it allows to imports contacts from social media or phone directly. This will help us a lot since we want to pay to only known people and this will save time and security. Apart from using it for sending money or receiving money, we ahve privacy settings as public or private. Public we can share our views and it is will be visible over internet. Private is only between those two people who involved in the transaction. The Menu option are simple and stright forward. The best part is the code that is associated with user that identifies each individual. I use this option and I ask them to send their code. Cons It only offers only allows Mastercard but not VISA. It is not widely accepted in by majority merchants online so we can't use it for online shopping. I've paid local businesses with Venmo instead of using cash. It was pretty quick and easy and free. I'm sure I'll keep using Venmo in the future. Pros It's free to use, no fees unless I want my money faster. Transfers are done quickly. I like that I can make my transactions private. I'm not in it so that anybody in my phonebook can see who I'm paying or getting paid by. Cons That I can't use my balance plus a transfer amount to pay someone. I have to do it in two separate transfers instead of a single one. I don't use the friends activity at all. Our team routinely uses the platform to transfer money for lunches, fundraisers, and other routine purchases amongst each other. This platform has nearly eliminated the routine exchange of cash within our work environment, which is essential during the current Pandemic. Cons The waiting period for money transfers can vary. Most often, the money will be in your bank account the next day, but I have experienced longer wait periods, up to 72 hours. Pros I love venmo. It makes it easy to split bills, charge for services, pay for goods, and anything else you can think of. It's become ubiquitous, and for good reason. You can easily find friends, charge/pay them, and also keep a running balance in your "account". You can easily transfer funds to your linked bank account (and they make it easy to link your account with login info - no need to dig up your dusty checkbook), or keep them in your "wallet" so you can then pay others from that balance. It makes it so easy to get paid and request from friends (splitting a bill? no problem!) and you can easily send reminders to those who may have forgotten to complete requests.
