Ill never have to grab money from the atm or write a check again. :) Pros This app is a game changer when it comes to paying your friends, employees, contractors, babysitters, etc. So nice to be able to just transfer money directly to someone without having to write a check or use a card reader. Perfect for splitting the price of dinner with friends, paying a contractor for some work. Cons Sometimes the app freezes on me and says not responding, doesn't happen very often but enough to mention it. Pros I like how it is easy to find people especially when they are your Facebook friends. The QR code scanner also makes it easy to find the correct person. The emojis and stickers are also really cute Cons Having to enter the last 3 digits of the person's phone number is a little too much but I like the option of being able to skip that step. I was a little doubtful of this at first, but it has honestly made my life so much easier. Pros The best thing about Venmo is simply it's ease of use. I downloaded the app on my phone and made an account after getting tired of constantly exchanging cash, which can get complicated and confusing. The app is easy to use and I can make a payment or charge someone in a few seconds. I also like that I have the ability to like/comment on transactions so others will know I have received, and acknowledge their payment. Cons I have heard some complaints about customer service/support however I have never personally had any issues with the service. My only issue is that the app occasionally freezes up on my phone and I have to force quit. Review Source javari H. Would never use again Pros I like how you can send money to people even if it's not available right away in your account. Cons I hate how they hold your money. They will flag purchases and can not give you an explanation as to why they are being flagged. April 6, 2021 5.0 Easy to use, low instant-deposit cost and super commonly used by people. Wish the desktop experience was better, but the mobile app is just fine. Pros It's so easy to set up and get using and the other HUGE benefit is that EVERYONE has it. That makes it easy to adopt as a payment app. Cons They have some funny daily spend limits that made it hard to pay rent via Venmo once but I just split it into two payments and was able to make it work just fine. Pros That gives smaller civic groups and or organizations accept credit cards without having to have a square account. Cons I'm not familiar if there is an organization option, as right now many times a board member or treasurer is accepting Venmo payments on behalf of a group. I can send my clients my email to receive payment for my services. My money is deposited into my Venmo account immediately when received. I also have the option to keep the funds in my Venmo account or send it to my bank account. This feature has saved me from overdraft fees on my personal account. Pros I have accepted Venmo as a payment option for my clients for over two years. I simply send my Venmo email to my clients to receive payment. I have always received my payments immediately thru the app. I can transfer my payment to my bank account very easily. This app has been very helpful in making my business a success. Cons There is nothing I don’t like about Venmo. The app has been very reliable and has great features that I enjoy using. Who doesn’t like receiving money? Pros The app that everyone seem to have and uses, so paying a friend is not a problem anymore. There are other competing softwares as well, but they are not as unanimous as Venmo. It offers a safe way to pay during Covid specically, and it works well. You can see a feed of your friends if you are interested too. Cons Feed of friends is at best creepy, think about it 'why should I be interested in learning that my roomate payed someone on craiglist ?' Clearly they are just cramming features, and making a useful app harder to use. For instance finding someone is kind of hidden while the feed is telling me that my acquitances are paying for food, that sounds crazy to me. Review Source WM Wes M. It's quick, at my fingertips, and day to day living just a little simpler so I can focus on other aspects of saving and spending money. Pros I love how easy it makes social engagements when we don't need to worry about splitting the bill perfectly, and not having to deal with cash has made living life that much simpler. When I connect with friends, it's easy to figure out payment and just deal with it there rather than remembering who owes who what. Any tool that makes money management easy is a good one in my eyes, but Venmo ALSO has the benefit of some social engagement in that you can also use it like social media to see who is doing what and how we're using money together (and it's reminded me of a few birthdays!) Cons The rising cost of getting your money is of course not my favorite, or waiting a few days to get it out of the app. That said, that has nothing to do with the actual software and more the company, and I understand the need to inflate to meet use. May 15, 2019 5.0 I use Venmo almost every single time I hang out with my friends. It makes splitting bills extremely easy, and I have no problems with it being linked to my checking account. Pros 1\. No fees for sending money or withdrawing money if you link to your bank. 2. Money gets transferred to my bank account SO FAST. 3. Emojis in the messages. Cons No cons, except that I'm waiting for the day when PayPal makes a change for the worse. Pros Besides being able to incorporate my Bitmojis into my transactions, I like how you can easily transfer or request funds from people. Cons I hate when you send someone money and if it’s accidentally the wrong person you can’t request it back. Usually you can verify the person before you send but sometimes it’s a mistake. Pros Obviously its free till you receive monies then there is small fee. But its easy to set up and connect with bank, super easy to send or request money as well....Simple is Good! Cons After changing banks I needed to connect another bank and disconnect the other. It took multple calls and 2 emails to resolve the issue. Which was odd, since its a PP product and I've never had the same issues with PP. I always use it between my friends, and recommend to those who doesn't use it. Pros I have been using venmo for 3 years and still using because of how easy it is to use and transfer money to my friends. For a good period of time, I used venmo to pay for my rent! it made things easier as I didn't need to go to bank and cash out, but instead just transfer it to my landlord. Venmo is also super fast when transferring! they offer same day transfer for only 1% fee, which is amazing! I love venmo! Cons The least thing I like about venmo is the fact that they have a limit amout of transferring money. Which is around 2k dollars per week and sometimes I need to transfer more than that and I can't because the app does not allow me.
