It is becoming very popular, so most people are able to pay or be paid through Venmo. Pros Venmo is excellent! It is such an easy tool to use to quickly and convenient pay or be paid for product. Their app is incredibly user friendly. Cons There was not much I didn't like about Venmo. It is a little strange to find people you know on there if their profile is public. I have clients all across the county so Venmo is a great tool for me to collect payment when I ship things out. Cons Venmo does take out a small percentage of the total. A majority of my friends/family use Venmo. Cons My bank is not listed as one to select from. Their competition is too political for my liking. Pros It was fast and easy to set up my accounts. All I had to do was enter my bank account number and my routing number and I was ready to go. Cons The only negative that I can think of is that not every retailer takes Venmo. Maybe because they are not large enough yet. I see that changing though. It’s quick and makes life so much more easy. It’s also very safe to use when linking your bank account. It’s also awesome that you can get a debit card which is linked to your venmo Cons I would say the fact that it can take a day or two to send money from your venmo to your bank account otherwise it cost a percentage to fast track it. If you are willing to wait a day, then it is free to transfer your balance to your bank. The "news feed" is pretty fun too. Cons When adding a new person, if you don't use the scanning workflow, it can be cumbersome to ensure you are choosing the right person, especially if they have a common name. The customer service is amazing, quick, and the platform is the easiest to use in my opinion Cons It does require an account to even initiate a sending or request of money. I like that with PayPal you can initial a sending even if the other party does not have an account. However this is an added security for the sender. The search function isn't great. It doesn't find the people I'm looking for when searching for people already on my friends list. Copying the personal QR Code and pasting it to an SMS or FB Messenger links to a general sign up page instead. You have to be specific about sending through the preset links. Not really intuitive because I often want to send it with a message, not just send the link. Pros Venmo easy to set up and use. No transaction Fees are very helpful. Fast transactions between users. Cons It's too easy to send money by accident. Somehow the buttons for paying and requesting money are set up so that i've mistakenly sent money to people I was planning to request money from. Transaction reports used to be a pain to generate and download. They have gotten better. Pros I truly love Venmo! I feel is the most simple, accessible way to send money or receive money in the market. It takes me literally seconds to utilize it, seconds to send money or receive, seconds to set it up and seconds to transfer the money to my bank. Cons I have not had a single bad experience while utilizing Venmo. It is a simple system that does the job I need. Reason for choosing Venmo Zelle is not the most friendly and doesn't work with all bank accounts. Cons It is a disappointment that as a non profit we still have transaction fees. It also is inconvenient that we need to attach an account to a phone number. We do not have a business line, so it makes it a little tricky. I also appreciate that most of my clients and vendors are also on Venmo so it is easy to use when I need it. Pros The UI is straight forward. I've used it countless times for personal purchases as well as business related items. Although there is a small % fee associated, I am grateful for the opportunity to request an on-the-spot funds transfer to my bank account. Cons While I understand the need for security, I find it interesting that Venmo requires bank account login verification to complete a 1-3 business day (and therefore, zero fee) funds transfer, but does not require such authentication for instant transfer to my bank card on file. Overall, I have only had a positive experience with Venmo and will continue to use it on a weekly basis. Pros Venmo is amazing. I've used Venmo to receive money from friends/family as well as to receive payments as an independent contractor. I have also used Venmo to send money and to pay rent. The software is extremely easy to use and transactions are always completed quickly and efficiently. Unless I transfer my Venmo balance over the weekend, I can expect my money to be deposited into my bank within 24 hours. This is extremely useful and has helped me out in many different situations. I use it weekly, and often even daily! Pros I use Venmo on a regular basis. My boyfriend and I transfer money to each other on a weekly basis, we pay our land lord for rent and utilities, when we go out with friends, instead of spending time splitting the tab, we venmo each other. Once upon a time, we may have had to remember to bring a cash or check to pay someone back, but now we can just venmo them right away, and it never gets put off or forgotten about! We also have used venmo when selling or buying stuff on craigslist or other online market places. It is so convenient! Cons If you don't opt in to the service you have to pay for, it takes 24 hours to deposit money into the bank. But for the convenience, that's ok. It's useful since my team is spread across multiple locations. Pros I like that I can use Venmo to send money to colleagues and friends. It only takes a couple of clicks to send the money, so it's very convenient. Cons I don't like the fee that is charged. It seems a little high to me. Maybe it shouldn't be a percentage above a certain amount. Maybe it should be a flat fee since the transaction costs are likely the same whether it's a $5 or a $500 transfer of funds.
