I also love that they've added a feature that allows instant cash out. Cons Their customer service could improve. I've had issues with my account in the past and it took forever to unfreeze my money because they kept escalating my complaint to someone else. Pros Venmo is really great for sharing resources with those in your circles. It functions like more social media networks do, and offers an easy and accessible way of gifting people with a few bucks or sharing bills. Cons As with most social media platforms, there are some concerns regarding privacy. Though it is far more accessible than Zelle, Zelle does offer a bit more privacy. Pros The ability to quickly find a contact, verify that it is truly them and send that person cash instantly is such an improvement on the days before Venmo. Finding ATM's, getting cash and sometimes even needing to break large bills. Cons The app itself has changed over the years and is becoming less user-friendly when searching for people and finding additional options. The way the app is today probably is preventing it from being used to its full potential. Maybe add a feature to find people around you? Reason for choosing Venmo Zelle was horrible at the time and never worked easily. It was hard to set up and continued to be difficult through the entire experience. Review Source SF Samuel F. Pros App is incredibly simple and easy to use. Syncing with contacts and finding other users has become a seamless experience, and one that is safer and safer every day. Cons It would be great to have a setting to automatically transfer all Venmo payments to your bank account rather than have them stay in Venmo and have to manually transfer every so often. December 8, 2019 5.0 Venmo began as a personal platform for mobile payment. It has since grown into business transactions and functions much in the same way. There are percentage transaction fees for businesses (not applicable for personal use), but no subscriptions, so it's worth a try if this seems like it might work for you. This is a simple transaction method with no extra frills. If you need to invoice, you will need to look elsewhere. Pros Easy to use and perfect for quick transactions. Modern version of PayPal, so in many ways it reaches into new and emerging areas in business (you can also send Venmo payments to a PayPal, so it's still integrated). Cons Businesses need to become Venmo partners before beginning to transact through Venmo. Payments may get reversed if this is not done first. Not a huge issue though--every platform has some kind of hoop to jump through. If you're simply splitting checks at lunch among partners (personal transactions), it's not a problem. I have been able to make payments for many things without having to send it through the mail (which I consider unsafe), while being able to track where I’ve sent money. Pros I can request payment as well as make payments with just the click of a button. I can find people easily. The transactions are seamless. Cons It is difficult to find and verify people you are searching for if they have the same name and no picture. Trying to get money back if you sent it to the wrong person can take a while if the person is not cooperative. It is a really easy to use app and it makes exchanging money between friends a colleagues an easy chore. It has replaced carrying cash around completely. Cons I think it would be great to have an international version of Venmo, especially for those of us who are constantly travelling. Pros Great for splitting lunches or paying contracts per diem. We have even used it to pay for basic transaction with contractors and reimbursements. Super simple. I also now have a record of payments made and received in case I need to reference them. Pros I like how seamless and easy it is to make and receive payments. I like that you get notified not only when you get a payment, but also when you make one. This is important in case someone else somehow gets access to your account and made a payment you didn't know about. I also like the extra security step you can set up before confirming payments. Cons Honestly, the only thing I can think of is I wish Venmo had the ability to send/take money directly from your account versus from the "Venmo balance" in your app. I understand this may not be possible, though, for security reasons. Pros It allows a few more of the prepaid cards to be linked to the account where Cashapp won't allow. It's become my bridge between Paypal & Cashapp! Cons I did not enjoy waiting on a wait list for a debit card. It ended up costing more fees not having a card. Reason for choosing Venmo It was the app that a previous customer used, and so far it's been working. Pros What I like most about Venmo is the simplicity. It truly only takes a few taps to decide who you would like to pay, select the amount, and make the payment. It hooks up to any bank account you decide and can even have instant transfers and deposits. They are also always upgrading their product to make it innovative and fresh - looking forward to seeing what new features they come out with. Cons Sometimes the app can be a little slow on selecting which person you'd like to pay or request money from. The switching between people sometimes take a few more seconds than what you may be used to, but overall is not a big deal. It's easy to find people's profiles based on their name. Cons \*"Public" is the default for your transactions. You have to manually change it to "private" if you don't want other people to see who paid you and for what. \*You have to transfer the money manually, unlike Zelle where it goes directly to my bank account. Would be nice to be able to use credit card so that you can acquire credit card reward points. Cons I don't understand why I need to see who my "friends" have sent money to. It is none of my business. I don't like that snyone I am connected with can see my transfers. We should definitely be able to send and receive digitally. Payment processing has come a long way and I don't think Venmo has followed suit. The app seems outdated (even though it just updated) and has glitches constantly. The website never lets me transfer money to my bank account, ever. Never has. Pros Sending money to people CAN be fast and easy. Find the person, click their name and done. Cons The app and website run so bad at times. Sometimes the app does this weird glitch where it just flashes constantly and nothing helps but closing it out completely. The website has other weird errors usually when you're trying to transfer money to your bank. It'll just say that they can't complete it at this time. I used to use PayPal for clients to send travel funds, but that was clunky and confusing for my clients. Venmo’s ease of use is everything! Just wish more people were using it. Pros Venmo makes PayPal feel outdated. Clients send me funds on Venmo to cover travel expenses for lodging and fuel. I can then use my Venmo debit card to pay for those things while traveling for work for my clients. It’s an easy way for me to keep track of business trip related expenses (and Venmo even sends receipts to my email for every transaction). Not only is it easy to use, but it’s fun. It’s designed simply, but also like a social platform (rather than a business one). Five stars for Venmo from me! Cons The only things I really dislike about Venmo is that it’s not available outside of the USA yet. I would love for them to expand their coverage area. I don’t use Venmo to invoice clients for services, but I do for the dollar for dollar travel expenses and that shouldn’t be changed a fee as it’s an expense not a service. I never have to worry about splitting a bill or having a hard time paying a friend. This app is next level awesome. Private mode is also great if you are not interested in the public aspect of it Cons Reall no cons. Only one isssue is no way to take the money back if you pay the wrong person.
