I had to switch to PayPal every now and then, and it made the process very frustrating. Pros It's convenient to transfer money. You can get the money immediately. If you need to cash out, all you need to do is pay a reasonable fee and deposit the money into your checking account. Cons I was locked out of my account 3 times. One of my checking account was unable to use. It keeps showing that my account has error. I tried to contact the customer service, but no one answered me. It makes office life a lot easier. Pros The ease of use is readily apparent. It takes almost no time to set an account up and just seconds to start paying people. Cons There is a default where your payments are public. The amount cannot be seen but the title of the payment can be. Its unnessecary. It is very convenient to use and has multiple safeguards in place to make sure the user is sending money to the correct person and also to protect a buyer when purchasing from a store. Cons It can be very difficult to navigate the app. Finding the location of certain features such as finding where to go to see the money people have requested from you and finding where your requests are is difficult. It seems like Venmo is trying to focus on it being more of a social media platform than it should be. This has become the standard for transferring money and I recommend it to anyone that will listen! Pros I use Venmo on a daily basis, and the ease at which I can transfer money within my company has made my life so much easier. Cons I have yet to experience any real issues with Venmo. I decided to try out Venmo and it has been a lifesaver. Customers send me their venmo handle when they place an order and I send them a payment request once I complete their order. I can confirm receipt of the payment instantly and do not have to worry about calling customers one by one to take down their credit card information. Best of all...no fees! And I use this for much more than I thought I would! Pros Venmo is one of the easiest things that has made such a difference in life! Even just going to get lunch with friends, Venmo is SO easy. I buy the lunch, and my friends pay me instantly. Transfering money to my mom for bills - easy. When one of my friends told me I should get it, she said "Venmo saves friendships", and she was right. I recommend this to EVERYONE who does not have it. If you don't have Venmo, you are missing out on making your life easier. Time is money people - so get this app and make your life easier! It's even easy to sign up!! Cons I actually don't like the "feed" they have. This isn't even a real "complaint", it's more of a personal thing. I just think it's odd that there is a public feed of who is paying who, and for what. Luckily, (great option), I can shut this off! I also don't think it's necessary for me to have to give a reason why I am paying someone! I think it should be optional! But both not complaints here, just more preference! Pros Great and easy to use. It's very easy to invoice or pay people back for things, which is fantastic. This makes splitting bills at restaurants, etc. so much easier. Cons I haven't experienced this myself, but I've heard horror stories of strangers transferring money out of their direct deposit/bank account and it being very difficult to get back. I also like that I have a Venmo debit card so it makes it even easier to access my funds rather than having to transfer it all to the bank. Cons I'm not sure I dislike this feature, but it doesn't do a whole lot for me at this time...being able to see (or make public to your friends or the public) transactions doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but I understand the sort of social aspect to it. May 12, 2020 4.0 I really enjoy it! Ive used it to pay friends, to get my botox, and I have had and employer pay me with it for a contracting job I did outside of work. Pros One of the best feature is that once you download it, your friend's who already have it willl automatically populate for you. You can have the funds automatically be sent and deposited to your account for a very small fee. There isn't a need for a paper trail, it is all saved on your phone! If you forgot how much you paid someone all you have to is look back on your phone and it is right at your fingertips. Cons I don't like the feature that shows you random people from around the world with the details of what they used the app for. Never having to wonder if the other person is going to pay, but rather see it done in the blink brings back security. The split payment feature is awesome too when trying to pay a tab. Cons The ability to see what everyone else is sending feels like watching someones bank account and is a little too personal.
