Easy and secure way to send and receive payment. Pros Quick, easy and secure way to send and receive payment. You can instantly send and receive payment and never have to worry about owing anyone money, or anyone owing you money again Cons The maximum amount of money that can be sent/received is $3,000. Pros Venmo is an extremely easy, efficient, and secure way to send money. You can transfer it to a bank account for free in a few days or instantly for a small fee. It's a quick solution for splitting items among multiple people. Cons I am not a fan of the feed that shows people sending money to each other and their reason for it. I feel like this social aspect is not needed for a payment sharing app like this and hinders privacy. Review Source Stacy R. With Venmo I can pay them quick and have a records of the transaction emailed to me. Pros Venmo is easy to use, there are no fees and I can keep my activity private. I can pay almost anyone who has a mobile number or email and setting up new contacts is quick and easy. Cons Really have not had any issues or complaints with Venmo. Maybe one time a delayed payment, but customer service responded and resolved the issue in a timely manner. There are times when we buy a group present for our supervisor or have after work drinks, and Venmo allows us to transfer money smoothly and securely. Our group page shows how we all interact, and we like writing different messages to each other. Pros Venmo is very easy to use, and that is its best feature. Connecting your bank information to the app is easy, even for people who are not technically inclined. We have a few of those on our team, so Venmo has eliminated this problem for us! Cons Venmo's security issues are their least liked point. We have had people decide they don't want to use it due to the negative publicity it has received. Venmo should pay some money for some good publicity! Otherwise, they don't have any flaws. The app works flawlessly. Review Source SR Shari R. April 1, 2021 5.0 I will never get rid of Venmo which is self-explanatory of my experience with Venmo :) I love Venmo! Pros What I like most about Venmo is the ability to send/receive payments easily to/from anyone, the ability to use it for direct deposit and receive your payments two days in advance, and the feel of the app relating to social media platforms like Twitter where you can include a note with each transaction and make it public (for witnesses that you paid or received a payment) or private (no one’s business). It’s a GREAT finance/banking app and VERY EASY to use! I love it! Cons Honestly, there is nothing I dislike about Venmo! It can do everything you need, even offers cash back for select purchases!!! Pros Venmo is user friendly and virtually free for users. With COVID our church had to adapt and offer a different way for people to contribute and help others. Venmo for business became easy for donors to use and allows the church to receive funds instantly. Cons No issues with Venmo, people preferred suing this over PayPal. I've used other money apps, but none are as intuitive as this one. Pros Venmo makes paying for goods easy and it makes requesting money easy. I use it to pay my hairstylist, landlord, cell bill/student loans - you name it, I can use Venmo to accomplish it. Everything about it is immediate. If I get paid, I can immediately transfer money to my bank. If I need to pay my friend for lunch I can do so with the press of a button. One of my favorite features is the ability to request money. If I need something I can ask for it easily - and the person who owes me will receive reminders. It makes my life so much easier. Cons Probably the charge for transferring to the bank - although I could bypass that if I connected my bank account, it's just a pain to remember to check my account for deposits (which is ultimately how you connect the two). The ability to easily transfer money between two people simply by pressing a few buttons on my phone is incredible. Pros This software is one of the best tools I have on my phone. Without Venmo I honestly don't know what else I would do in trying to gather rent or split fees with my roommates each month. Before Venmo everyone told me I had to get a bank money transfer app, but the problem was I didn't have that bank which made it next to impossible. Venmo allows this process to be easy and without a hassle. Cons I think what I least like about Venmo is the minimum amount that you can transfer. I understand this is put in place for security measures, but it forces me to turn one transaction in to two sometimes. Pros Venmo is super easy to use and the user interface is very friendly. It's very convenient for sending money to friends. It is as simply as searching for the person who you are requesting payment from or sending it to, typing in the amount, and then hitting the send button. It is great to use to make sure you get your money from someone rather than them saying "I owe you." It is also great that some places will now let you pay with Venmo so if you forget your wallet, you will always have access to your bank account. Cons I like everything about this, but the one con would be that it shows the world who you are sending money to or receiving it from and the message you send with it. July 23, 2019 5.0 I use Venmo to pay rent, to split dinner with friends, to pay back friends and to get paid from my freelancing work. Very very good experience overall! Pros This is the easiest way to split bills and send money. It says that it can take a few business days to transfer money to your bank account, but it's usually way faster for me. I like how it's sort of a social media platform as well. Cons It's a simple software that does what it says it does. What's not to love? Easy to use, popular, and does exactly what you need. Pros As with all networks, the more people who sign up, the more useful this is. Venmo is popular enough now where it has become the default mobile payment service for many, which means it's much more likely the person you want to send or receive cash from is on the app. The interface is simple enough and you see a record of all payments to date. Cons It's still not the easiest to find the person you're looking for unless you know their username already. I also think the default setting should be private - the world shouldn't automatically know who you paid and what cheeky comment you wrote to hide it. April 4, 2020 3.0 Venmo has been very useful as a means to send and receive payments from others. I find it easy to remind others using the request feature. I have had to call customer service to aid with an erroneous payment paid to me and it was a quick and pleasant experience. Pros The use of Venom has helped with keeping track of payments to be shared amongst friends and colleagues. It is also a convenient way to have cashless and "touch-less" payment for services , for example at the salon, since money does not need to exchange hands. Cons I would prefer that the default with payments not to make it visible to the public, I feel that it would be better that have the default be private and the can chose to make it visible to friends. This will make it seem less like a social media platform and feel like a payment/money exchange service. There is always a friend that needs paid back or a friend that needs to pay you back and Venmo makes that process a breeze. I personally use it to even pay my monthly rent after I had issues with my own bank's money transfer tool. The app is also very user friendly and so much so, that my parents figured out how to use it! Cons It would nice if there was an easier way to find people you may know. If a profile doesn't have an image, it's hard to ensure that you have the right person unless they send their username and most don't. I like that you can see transaction of those around you and share or hide your own if you want. I also like that it is easy to find your contacts. The request or payment has always been quick and they send you an email for each one. Cons Not a lot I don't like. The only thing I would say is I don't like that I get a monthly summary since I typically don't use it enough to not remember my transactions from that month, but you can unsubscribe from them so it's fine.
