Easy to use and hassle free (did I say no fees?) Pros I like that there are no fees associated with using Venmo as opposed to other options that are out there. Cons Nothing. It's pretty easy and straightforward. It would be nice to be able to categorize past purchases, but I'm not complaining. Pros What i like most about Venmo is the ability to quickly, and securely, send money to anyone on the platform. Cons What i like lease is how hard it is to reverse sending money to the wrong person. Sometimes people have very similar tags, and it is very hard to reverse that. Especially love the feature of scanning someone's profile to find them, as searching usernames can be tricky. I've never had the experience of accidentally sending money to the wrong person, but I see how it can happen pretty easily. Pros Super easy to set up and use. Trustworthy, with almost instant turnaround time when transferring money to friends, and very reasonably quick turnaround time to move money to your bank account. And the best part is - no fees!! Cons Personally I'm not a huge fan of making it into a new social media kind of app. I really don't need to share my transactions like a fb wall, and I definitely don't care about trying to figure out who paid who for an emoji sandwich Review Source Kevin D. It's super easy to exchange money, which makes splitting the bill much less of a hassle. Pros This software makes it extremely easy and efficient to send and request money from others. You can usually find people without needing their specific username, but it helps to have it anyway. Transfers happen almost instantly, and withdrawing happens usually within 48 hours as well. Cons The only con to this software is that you can see the activity of all of your other contacts. Usually the dollar amount is hidden, but I honestly don't care to know that someone I went to high school with just paid a friend for \*beer emoji\* and \*taco emoji.\* Maybe that's a personal preference, though. Cons Trying to find another user can be frustrating at times. The name needs to spelled exactly as the other user has programmed it and it is not always their correct name. I'm not a fan of seeing who or what others have paid to others. I have set my account as private. I also like the feature to transfer back to your bank. It is very nice to be able to use your linked bank account or enter a credit card. Cons I do not dislike much but I wish you could send money without having to put a description of what it is for. Sometimes when I am trying to do it fast I hate having to fill in this section. Pros It is so easy to send, receive and request money from friends and coworkers. I actually use this most often at work, to buy tickets for fundraisers and make donations to non-profits. I also love how easy it is to split the cost of meals, drinks, etc, without needing to carry around cash, write checks, or inevitably forget to pay someone back. Cons I'm not in love with the public feed. Not everything needs to be social! A lot of people are using it, so it's easy to send a request and get paid Cons It's not really set up for professional invoices Reason for choosing Venmo It seems many more people are using this over PayPal, so I use it alongside PayPal and stripe. You can set up multiple bank accounts within one profile and choose which bank account to transfer your money to each time. Cons It takes up to 3 business days to receive the money in your bank account, but this is standard for the industry. Of course, you can have the money transferred more quickly for a fee. Pros I love Venmo because it is very convenient to have your clients send you money right away. Most people feel comfortable making a transaction with Venmo, and that also helps small businesses. Some people don't feel comfortable paying with their credit card, and that is where Venmo saves the day. Cons There are no cons with Venmo! Maybe the only con is I wish more people would use it! Now that it's owned by PayPal, it is more trusted. Pros This product makes it extremely easy to transfer money to friends. It's free, easy to set up, and has not had a security issue ever. It allows you to leave a cute gif or picture with the money and also a note so you have a record of what you sent. It also allows you to request money if someone owes you money which is so convenient . Venmo also asks for end of phone number if you have never exchanged money to eliminate mistakes Cons I sometimes find it hard to find people and sometimes people have the same name which makes it tricky. Field Director Non-Profit Organization Management Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Convenient, Secure Platform for Everyday Transactions" May 29, 2020 4.0 Venmo makes it so easy to make transactions between friends and acquaintances and it is also a secure way to transfer money for purchases or other needs to people you may not know. I have used Venmo to transfer money to co-workers for a baby shower, to receive money from a friend for groceries I picked up for her, from family for a meal we shared, and to pay and receive money for items purchased and sold on Facebook Marketplace. Venmo has made these transactions both convenient and secure. Pros The best feature of Venmo is the ability to verify whom you are paying. I have used Venmo to make purchases over Facebook Marketplace and have been able to easily confirm that my payment was going to the right person. Cons There was one time when I had difficulty using the app. I'm not sure what went wrong. I got a message saying that it wouldn't connect to my bank. I wasn't sure if I should contact the bank or Venmo. There was no information about whom to contact or how, just that the transaction would not process. I was able to arrange to pay the individual with cash, but it did put me in a pinch in the moment. Clearer instructions on how to resolve the issue would have been helpful.
