It is easy to use, find other users, and send and receive payments from individuals. 5/5 Pros Free, fast, and virtual. What every device should have for friends and independent companies. I have personally used this as well as used this for purchasing merchandise on multiple occasions. The software is easy to search for someone and is safe to use. There are very few downsides. Cons Searching feature was in need of improvement long ago, but now that you are able to scan an individual's QR code, there is no mistaking who you are giving money to. It is hard to find an issue with the software. I would say a non-software issue I have is the fee for using a credit card to transfer funds. Review Source KS Kristen S. This is the only app I use to pay people directly and its super easy to use. Pros Easy to use. Simply add the amount, connect with the person you want to pay and click submit. I've never had an issue using the software. Cons It took a little time to set up and connect via my bank but I think that was more of a bank issue than it was the app. Reason for choosing Venmo Other people I know were using it and talked about how easy it was to implement. The amount of different transactions that you can do are endless. And the most i like is that i can get paid early by using venmo on my work. Pros There are a lot of payment apps now but Venmo was one of the first I adopted. It's such an easy way to send and receive money between friends. It makes going out to eat with a group super simple since one person can pay and everyone else can venmo their portion to that person. Venmo is used by so many people that the word "Venmo" has become a verb to mean "send me money". I like that they offer a free venmo debit card too so I can leave money in my venmo account and use it via a card instead of having to transfer it to my bank. Cons You can accidentally send money to the wrong person and if you do it is very hard to get it back. There should be a way to cancel a transaction. It's a great resource and easy money exchange. Cons I do not like sometimes the requesting of money or sometimes the things I read about scammers on Venmo or hackers. That is scary. Pros Venmo is easy to use and processes payments quickly. The new ability to transfer payments to bank immediately is a gamechanger. Cons In one instance I paid the wrong person with a similar username and getting the transaction reversed by customer service took a few business days. I have yet to run into any other issues while using Venmo. I hope venmo remains free and adds cool new features! Pros I love how fast and simple it is to recieve payment from a customer. There are no fees like credit card services charge, the money comes straight from the customers bank account and goes into your venmo account and then you can pay a small fee to get the money instantly into your account or just wait a day and it is free! Super simple, cheap, and convenient. Cons The only problem i have with Venmo is not everyone has it. I really think Venmo needs to advertise more since i only know about it from a friend. Also your "friends" can see all of your transactions, so if you don't want your Facebook community knowing all of your transactions, make sure to register with an email that doesn't have Facebook or your phonebook attached to it! I also love how you can see what your history on sending and receiving funds! Highly recommend! Pros Sending and receiving money is super easy with Venmo, and there are no sending fees when you have your account connected to a checking account or pulling from your Venmo balance. I also love using it, because it is a standard. Most people my age (around 25) have a Venmo account, so splitting the bill or sending quick payments is a breeze. Cons I think that the user interface is more complicated than another software called CashApp. It is not a problem once you figure it out, but for those who have never used it before, it will take a little bit more time (like 2 minutes) to figure it out. May 16, 2019 5.0 I've generally used Venmo when splitting business expenses with others or across teams. It makes sharing joint cost very easy and it's also great for non-direct work related expenses like splitting lunch with coworkers or after work outings. Pros \-You can send money to anyone and they can send money to you at no cost. Unless you fund your account from a credit card, then it's about 1%. -It makes cost sharing a breeze and makes it possible to no longer carry cash. Cons \-I don't always want payments to be public, I'm not in love with the social aspect. -This is really not a great solution if you need to be able to expense something, it doesn't lend itself well to creating invoices in my experience. Cons What I like least is that it will sometimes have glitches that will not allow me to send money from my bank accounts.
