More payment apps should be linked to Paypal. This is a great benefit! Pros I like the ease of use. The ability to use venmo thru Paypal. It is very convenient and easy to use. It has helped a lot when collecting payment or sending payment for business transactions. There are no fees involved, I Love this part. Cons There is not much to not like about venmo. However, I didn't like the non existent cancel or return payment feature. There are so many transactions that could be sent to the incorrect person, there should be a way yo cancel or return. Pros Venmo is easy to access and use. I like that it's free and that you can easily add friends using the QR code. I love the ease of exchanging funds with this app. Pros Venmo is extremely easy to use and vastly more convenient than exchanging cash. The biggest advantage to using this app is its popularity: since virtually everyone has it now, it’s almost always an option for exchanging funds. Cons Prior to using Venmo, I used Google Wallet. Google Wallet did not grow in popularity enough to have the convenience of Venmo, but it was great because I already had a Gmail account with which Wallet integrates nicely. You forgot your wallet, apple pay does not have the card you needed and there is no atm around. Well Venmo is the easiest thing in the world. It made payments so much easier. If you want to divide the bill simply send your part and that's it. money arrives instantly. It also shows you all your transactions. I believe companies that use venmo open up to more clients. I like that there are no fees involved Pros Venmo is great to have if you want a quick way to send or receive money. It is free and they don't charge for this. They also offer a debit card or cc. I love how it will split a bill amongst several people. It has a on screen calculator which is nice as well Cons I don't like that everyone can see your activity. Although you can set your settings to make you information private. But this is a big way for scammers to get a hold of your info if you don't make it private. Pros I use Venmo to quickly pay back coworkers when splitting a large lunch bill or reimbursing them for coffee. Cons I don’t love the timeline showing what other people have paid others. It’s kinda of weird when it is acquaintances to see how they spend their money. February 11, 2020 4.0 It's a great, easy app and I highly recommend it to all who are looking for a way to pay back friends quickly! Pros I really like how easy Venmo is to use. I am able to quickly pay my friends cash and not have worry about my money being transferred securely (Venmo takes care of that). I like that I only had to connect my bank account to the app one time and now I can easily pay and receive money and transfer it to and from my bank account quickly. Cons I don't like that Venmo has recently discontinued some of their services online. You have to use the app to pay people now & can no longer use your desktop. Just makes sure you type in the correct username, cause I've heard of horror stories of people doing that and having difficulty getting their money back. Pros Venmo is awesome in it's simplicity to send money to friends and others at the tap of a button. Splitting a check, paying someone back, or paying dues for a fantasy football league (yup, I did that) is super easy once you find the person's Venmo account. You just type in their Venmo username, enter the amount, and press send. Cons The worst thing about Venmo is that if you want to send your money for free it will take a couple of days to do so. Doing one thing and one thing well is where Venmo excels. Pros It is simple and easy to use. Whether connecting by email or by scanning a QR code, I don't believe making and receiving payments in the digital age could be easier. Cons The whole social aspect, where payments made are shared in real time, is a turn off. Pros Because we have to bill for services and cannot just collect payments through Venmo I would recommend using this software for personal use only and not for business payments. Cons Venmo is easy to use but does require those you are paying/requesting payment to download which can sometimes put people at unease if they aren’t familiar with the app. I do not like the “social media” aspect of it and having other see my payments. Great and secure app! I love it! Pros Venmo is the easiest way to pay people instantly! You connect with friends and family and pay each other with no issues at all. You add a message when you pay each other adding a social aspect to the app because others get to see the message on why you are paying each other. Make the messages as funny as you want and never have to worry about paying friends and family by cash anymore. Cons Sometimes there are glitches with adding your bank account or debit card, which can be a time consuming issue when you are in a rush to pay someone, but this can usually easily be fixed. I have rarely used Venmo since encountering access issues, and now use another widely accepted payment tool. Pros Venmo is widely accepted and almost everyone has it. Easy to use for daily transactions (meals with friends) and even business payments. Cons If you every change your phone number, it's a real pain to get your account updated. I've known several users (myself included) who went through this hassle. I know security is foremost because it's a payment software, but the process should be a bit more streamlined and automated. Pros I can transfer money with ease, funds are available instantly if you use their card, bank transfers are quicker than direct deposits, ease of use for organization within the app. Cons Then need to add more features and use larger lettering to draw in bigger audiences. The app is hardly ever glitched but needs to have an update. Venmo seems to be popular enough that its fairly commonly used by my friend groups which makes it very convenient. I enjoy that there are no fees and that transactions are quick. However I have always had concerns about privacy. Pros There is a lot of convenience that comes from no fees for moving funds back and forth between friends. It allows for splitting checks and billing for (and documentation of) shared expenses. Cons There are a lot of concerns about the privacy of the users, as I know many of my friends didn't realize they had their transaction info set to public. I've helped them understand why this is a concern, but I don't think users are properly educated on this. Cons There is nothing about Venmo that I dislike. It's easy to find people to get or ask for the money, and it's free if you use a bank account.
