Pros This software is very easy to use. Just download the app, sign up for an account, and you can begin transferring funds to others for free! Cons If the receiver doesn't have a picture, there is no way to be 100% certain you are sending funds to the correct person. June 30, 2020 5.0 Its made it easy for clients to send us their payments and we have also used it to pay for items online that offer Venmo as a payment option. Pros Venmo is easy to set up and free, no monthly service fee attached. Money is available right away and can be transferred into you bank account immediately. Cons One of the down sides to Venmo is that has a cap of $3000 per transaction. This really hasn't proven to be much of an issue since most clients pay for their flowers is payments. However when a bride wants to pay all at once we have to ask them to write us a check. Also there's no way to remove the 3% fee on credit cards. Reason for choosing Venmo It was listed as the most recommended app for receiving payments. It's very easy to find users and send money or request money. There is also a QR code feature for specific Venmo profiles to make finding users easier. It’s so fast and easy and since they’ve recently made it easy to transfer between accounts I can switch back and forth between personal and business accounts. Pros This is such a fast and easy way to transfer money. No fees if you link a debit card or bank account, you can easily switch between accounts, and it takes two seconds on your phone. Cons It takes a few days for funds to hit your account, and they don’t transfer automatically, you have to tell Venmo to initiate your transfer. It also has helped me easily pay my husband for bill on a number of occasions. I do not use Venmo for business, but if I ever did, it would be a great platform to receive payments from clients. I might explore that! Pros The fact that you can easily send and/or request money to friends. I no longer feel guilty "owing" someone for something. I can easily just venmo them and take care of it. It easily eliminated the need for having cash on you. Cons I have a credit union for a bank and I will say it was very confusing and nerve-racking to set up. Venmo is super easy and makes it really entertaining to exchange money with friends. Pros How fun it is to interact with friends on the software. Exchange money and use emojis? That’s so much fun haha especially when people use random emojis hahaha Cons The instant transaction fee. If the search for companies and individuals was easier and there was no need for a username the product would be five stars. Pros I appreciate the fact that companies can use their company cards to send payment. Cons Integration into our payment system was simple. I would like for the product to be easier for us to send invoices to companies and individuals. For example, it is difficult to send an invoice and have the other company find our venmo name without having our exact venmo username. This should be an easy fix for venmo and would make it my primary source for payment transactions. Reason for choosing Venmo Venmo allows companies and individuals to use credit cards which is very helpful so that transactions can be in the expense reports and disputed if necessary. August 21, 2019 4.0 Pros When Venmo initially came out it was very easy to use via mobile and even from a desktop. Fast, secure, simple. Cons The inability to use Venmo via app or desktop is a pain and has kept me from making transactions of late. Also, having to report what the money is for is an unneccessary steep. As is having to hide transactions as opposed to having the default be to keep them private. Pros It has no monthly costs. Bank transfers are free as well and if it needs to be the next day a 0.25 transaction is minimal. " February 20, 2019 5.0 Overall venmo is fast and easy. I will continue to use it regularly. Pros Venmo is great. Ever go out to dinner and forget to ask to split the check? Ever forget your wallet and have a buddy spot you a coffee? Venmo makes it so you can pay them back RIGHT AWAY. All you have to do is take out your phone, bring up the app, send the money and BOOM they have it right away. I can't tell you how many times I've used venmo. I actually receive monthly payments on a loan a gave out through venmo. There are no fees associated with it which is the best part! I really enjoy the convenience with venmo. You can also see what your friends are up to in the app. Sometimes I forget birthdays then I see a friend sent some money with a "happy birthday" tag... That reminds me to do the same! lol Cons The only thing that actually does kind of bug me is that you can see what transfers people are doing. Not so much the dollar amount but if a friend charges someone or if someone sends someone money, you can see it. I am kind of a private person so this is not my favorite feature. Having the ability to scroll through a log of time stamped transactions with comments as to why they are there makes book keeping much easier. Pros I like that I can see my clients comments with the transactions in one easy hub. The access to payment type and reason for payment makes my book keeping much easier on the back end. Cons I don't really have any cons necessarily. I know when I first used this product for personal use I did not like that my friends could see my transactions, but now as a business user this is one of my favorite features as mentioned above. The customer service chat is helpful and easier to use than attempting to navigate an automated telephone system. Pros Venmo is very easy to use. It is generally reliable. It is unfortunate that Venmo does not support all banks for transfers. I do like the debit card option however. Cons In almost two years of using Venmo, I have only had one instance of dissatisfaction. I was able to get the issue resolved within a couple of days, but it was frustrating nonetheless. I do make sure to be careful of how much money I keep on my account at any given time, just in case of worst case scenario if someone were to try to access my account through my phone. The app is easy to figure out and enjoyable to use. Cons I don’t understand the social media aspect of the application. Money and how it is spent shouldn’t be kept public like that... It's the future of money transfers. Pros Venmo's smooth UI and striking ease of use makes it the unquestionable leader in the small transactions arena. You won't find better bang for your buck without compromising speed, security, or ease of use. Cons Hard not to pine for the days when transactions were instant (or near instant) but did not incur a fee. Unfortunately, venmo is a business and the fees are now a necessary evil. Still the best in its class.
