Having the ability to scroll through a log of time stamped transactions with comments as to why they are there makes book keeping much easier. Pros I like that I can see my clients comments with the transactions in one easy hub. The access to payment type and reason for payment makes my book keeping much easier on the back end. Cons I don't really have any cons necessarily. I know when I first used this product for personal use I did not like that my friends could see my transactions, but now as a business user this is one of my favorite features as mentioned above. Reason for choosing Venmo I found the overall access and ease of use with Venmo to be better than PayPal. Review Source Stephanie S. The customer service chat is helpful and easier to use than attempting to navigate an automated telephone system. Pros Venmo is very easy to use. It is generally reliable. It is unfortunate that Venmo does not support all banks for transfers. I do like the debit card option however. Cons In almost two years of using Venmo, I have only had one instance of dissatisfaction. I was able to get the issue resolved within a couple of days, but it was frustrating nonetheless. It doesn't get much easier than Venmo. Pros I use Venmo when bartending, with my hair dresser, for the babysitter, with friends, church tithing, for bills... you name it, Venmo can help! Cons I have never had any issues with Venmo. I do make sure to be careful of how much money I keep on my account at any given time, just in case of worst case scenario if someone were to try to access my account through my phone. I use Venmo to pay part of my rent. It’s easy to use and I don’t hate it. Pros I like the ease of use and the color scheme chosen by the developers. The app is easy to figure out and enjoyable to use. Cons I don’t understand the social media aspect of the application. Money and how it is spent shouldn’t be kept public like that... I think it’s strange. It's the future of money transfers. Pros Venmo's smooth UI and striking ease of use makes it the unquestionable leader in the small transactions arena. You won't find better bang for your buck without compromising speed, security, or ease of use. Cons Hard not to pine for the days when transactions were instant (or near instant) but did not incur a fee. Unfortunately, venmo is a business and the fees are now a necessary evil. I love that it doesn't cost us anything, and the money is transferred in a few days. Cons Every now and then I'll find a bug and have to quit the app, but this is a very simple solution. It's my favorite money app. I recommend it to everyone. Pros I like that I can buy a meal for my coworkers or they can buy it for me, and there is no counting change. For me, I never have the right amount of cash to give someone. I would have to go get cash and break the bill to pay someone back. This takes more time from my day that could be better spent. With Venmo, I can pay or receive it as it happens so I won't have to remember who owes what. It's easy to transfer the money to your bank account, but I typically like to leave it in Venmo so I can use it to pay someone else back. It's nice when I open Venmo and see money on the app I forgot that I had! There's no reason to charge my card. Cons Sometimes I have difficulty adding a new contact to my Venmo. It was great for processing customer payments and tips between the waitresses as well for tracking daily payouts. I'd recommend to small and medium sized businesses for sure! Cons I don't have a lot of complaints. I don't understand the sharing of payment info that much like facebook and wanting people to know about payments. But I do like that I can make payments private as well. I use it to reimburse colleagues, friends, family, etc. It's incredibly easy to use and seems to be the standard now. Also appreciate that I can look people up by their phone numbers. It's also pretty trust worthy & secure which is nice when you're talking about $$. I hate owing people money, so Venmo allows me to square up with them immediately. At this point, I get frustrated when people don't have the app. Everyone with a smartphone should have it by now. Pros Venmo is a secure way to easily exchange money between friends, family, coworkers, etc. I've never had any security issues with it. Making payments is fast and simple. My favorite feature is the ability to request money from someone. It's a friendly way to say "Pay me now!" Cons I think the user interface could use some improvement. It would be nice if I could just scroll through a list of friends as opposed to having to search for them. Maybe I'm just missing something. Seems like a pretty basic feature to not have. Cons I need to install native Venmo app on my phone now instead of on the web. Also it is required to upload my ID to be able to use the platform due to regulations I guess. Pros This platform is extremely easy to use and charges no fees for transactions. In the service industry asking people to tip staff with VENMO saves you quite a bit of money in bank merchant fees that are otherwise lost out of your pocket. Cons There is honestly nothing really to dislike. It does show transactions between people, not amounts but interactions. but you can go to settings and make your default private so no one can see your interactions. It makes my life much easier because I don't have to use cash. Pros Venmo is a great app to send money to friends and family instead of using cash. Cons I don't love the feature that you can see what and who other people are sending to and for. It seems like it should be more private. You can turn this feature off though so not that big of deal. July 31, 2019 5.0 Pros The biggest pro of using Venmo is the convenience of being able to send money to other people. Venmo has saved me a couple of times when I go out with friends and forget my wallet, I can pay them back right then and there. No more having to go to the ATM to get cash or write them a check. This is one of the greatest financial apps that was ever made. Cons The only real con that I have with Venmo is that when I was first starting to use the app I was nervous I was going to send the money to the wrong person. Pros Venmo is great for both business use and professional use. Great way to easily pay friends or vendors for any task or job. Super easy to set up and connect accounts or credit cards. There is a small processing fee for credit cards so keep that in mind if you plan to use one. Otherwise, the app is free for personal use and very inexpensive for business use. Cons None, the app is great and have never had any issue using it or connecting it with you banks or accounts.
