Pros Very easy to use between especially when splitting payments with friends. The app and the debit card that comes with it can also be convenient. I also find that I can easily transfer to my bank after receiving money. Cons Can't be used internationally, as far as I know. And limited features if you plan to use it to charge for services (and I think it's ill-advised to use it for business as it's mainly designed for sending money for personal purposes). My siblings use it all the time to pay each other back for different things. I like the social media aspect of the service, where you can easily track incoming funds and outgoing funds. I also like how easy it to do a FREE bank transfer. Pros I like how easy it is to send and receive money with Venmo. It's become a verb, like, "hey can you Venmo me $5?" It is like a social network of people paying each other, and it makes sending money fun. You can send emojis along with $20 and it gives context to what you're paying for. It also makes splitting checks really easy! Venmo is becoming a part of my circle more and more. Cons I try not to use Venmo for business, just because it's a bit of an accounting enigma. It makes it hard to keep track of incoming funds or what it's for from an accounting perspective. Pros First. it is free to use no fees or commission. Easy to use and easy to send or receive money from different users. Connect with phone number and can find easily. So much secure and reliable to use. Cons Some other app do give sign up bonus but not this app. also some app has their own cards to spend and gives decent amount of cash back but this app has categorized cash back which I do not like. Also interface of expressing comment or header to send money. Reason for choosing Venmo Gives cash reward when signing up to the app. Also great app interface to work with. And good alternate to send or receive money. It is quicker processing time. I have been using it for a while and don't plan on changing software anytime soon. Pros It is so easy to use . I can link my debit card and pay whoever I need to whenever. I can also easily transfer my money from Venmo to my bank account. I love this so much. Cons It's just cash. Cash App lets you deal with crypto, and load money on your own account. Venmo does neither. Open the app and pay someone or immediately request money. No awkward "hey when are you gonna pay me back" stuff because it's all done virtually. I also like that I can transfer the money to or from my bank with no fees. Cons Sometimes I get concerned that Venmo isn't super secure. Cons I think it's incredibly insane that this app even has the functionatlity to show who your contacts are transferring money too. Hello, privacy breach?! I decided to close my account awhile ago because I had an issue transferring my money and it was an absolute pain. I said I would never use it again but most recently had to download it because it's the only form of payment a vendor took. Thank you for the reminder to remove from my phone. There are no many competing apps, but venmo is still our go to. Pros I like how easy it is to use, and how many people in my age group (25+) use it. We can easily split a bill, or charge friends for things we share. Cons I don't like that the search feature is so slow--sometimes it takes 10+ seconds for the search results for a person to come up. I like that we’re also able to see each others timeline for when they’ve received money. There’s also the option to not have a transaction posted on your timeline. Cons However like Chime you have to take that extra step to pick an emoji or reason for it to send. Also, I’ve been flagged a few times over a transaction and had to send in documentation to prove its me, which in that case they take up to 3-5 business days to verify. Pros What I like most about Venmo is it's simplicity. there's not much to the software, and it's widely recognized across platforms as an easy method of payment. Cons What I've found most frustrating about Venmo is the search option. I've found when searching for new users I'm not yet linked with, the search option sometimes struggles to identify the user name even when I've typed it in correctly leaving me with a no-name found situation.
