Implementation Computer Software Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Great seamless product" February 24, 2020 4.0 This is an absolute great product. I highly recommend it. Pros I really like that Carbonite runs in the background and takes up the least amount of computer resources as possible. Cons The one thing I like the least is actually a compliment. Carbonite uses so little resources to backup that I find myself checking if it actually backed up my files. So far everytime I check the files have been backed up. Review Source MG Mike G. You could say what hours you wanted it to work so that it wouldn't slow down the interent connection for users in the office. Was also MacOS compatible Cons Pricing ultimately was too much for the amount of data we needed to upload into the cloud. Decide to switch to something cheaper after analyzing the costs. February 6, 2020 5.0 It has been absolutely invaluable for my use, as I've tons of files that I keep digitally. Pros I have used Carbonite 3 times now to restore all my important files after a computer or laptop had crashed. I'm amazed each time by what comes back into the new computer when it's all done! Cons Its hard top say any downside to Carbonite, for when you've recovered so much valuable data and files after the surprise of a computer crashing - its wonderful! Review Source Denise G. Most items back up automatically which makes your information secure if a disaster were to happen. The price for unlimited GB is excellent. Cons The software can run a bit slow. It would also be nice to have back up options for other devices for the user. The UI also allows you to then go into it and locate said files and folders to perform a recovery operation. Cons The upload speeds are abysmally slow, with a 500GB directory taking close to an entire month to upload to their servers on our fiber connection. The service was impossible because I could not speak to a person and I had an emergency. I needed to back up my files immediately. So, I ordered in a $7 flash drive to do the job. Carbonite is saying that my customer service request is still open. I have sent a few emails to them but they obviously do not read it. Pros I used this product 2 years ago and it was great. Cons I reordered this product less than 2 weeks ago. I had a nightmare setting it up . I tried to find the phone number to speak to a person and it was near to impossible to find. Finally, when I did, I called on a Friday only to find that their dept. was closed for the day. I was sooooo frustrated. Reason for choosing Carbonite Only because my computer nerd insisted. Pros I found Carbonite very easy to use. It backed up my computer easily and ai like the fact that it does the backup easily withoy my having to do anything. Cons I was not happy with how long it took to do the initial backup but in talking with my compiter rep. he sais it was normal. I like that while its running you are able to see the progress. Pros I like the fact that you can manage this and it can run in the background while you continue your daily tasks. Cons This seems to slow down my system overall while its running in the background, its hard to know for sure if its running but when I feel like things are moving slower than usual I check and it is always when Carbonite is running. If all of my data was backed up consistently it would be the best backup software I've used. Pros I liked the automatic saves mostly, as I would often forget to backup otherwise. Cons I constantly received errors that all my data was not able to be backed up, but wouldn't give me details on what wasn't saved. It left me wondering what data would be recoverable and what was lost. I didn't have time to mess with figuring it out. Review Source pB paul B. I also love how I can tell what is being backed up, and that I can select only the files I want and need backed up. Cons nothing. Love using it. Love the customer service. Very user friendly. Was able to browse the file I wished to restore on my mobile phone. Pros Love the business price for server and workstation backup, and how easy it is to setup and configure. This is the best price backup software I've seen, and it's still number one in my book. We have tried Mozy, Crash plan, etc, but Carbonite is by far the easier, and cost effective solution. Pros I have been using Carbonite for about 6 years. I find it very effective in keeping a continuous backup of my files as well as a means to access a file remotely when I am away from my office. It runs lightly in the background and doesn't not interfere with the performance of my computer. Cons My only dislike about this software is when I have had to do a full restore of my computer it takes several days and needs some babysitting to be sure it continues the process. Pros One of the best computer backup software I have ever come across. With its great user-friendly approach, now having a backup of your data is no more a hassle. Moreover, my data with Carbonite is 100% secured. As a writer, I have many files to retain and maintain. Carbonite has helped me stay organized with all my data. Cons Luckily, I have never encountered any issue using this tool. Except for a minor one that is okay to deal with. It is that when the automated updates are in progress, the software goes offline. Subsequently, I have to reinstall it a number of times just to ensure that it resumes to its functions and my data is backed up in time.
