Pros Their service is fast, reliable, and professional. Mail forwarding occurs very quickly and without delays. Scanning could be quicker, but is never too delayed, and the file quality is great. Cons I dislike being billed for storage. The fact that I can't set a rule to automatically recycle mail after x amount of time is irritating, because it eventually results in me paying for storage of the the piece of mail. Their web-based interface is slightly dated and is a bit slow to load, and performing multiple operations with selected items can be buggy. Review Source SC Sweth C. N/A Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Difficult and expensive" May 16, 2017 2.0 Pros The core functionality, of being able to get scans of all incoming mail, works reliably, although sometimes (far less often now than when I first started using the service a few years ago) there are inexplicable multi-day delays between requesting a scan and receiving the results. Cons The software UI is horrible, especially over slow/high-latency links (i.e. the exact type of links that someone who is often remote and needs a mail scanning service is often on). And the new pricing system makes continuing to use it untenable, which is why I am investigating alternatives and planning to stop using this service. August 5, 2019 4.0 I have been very happy with their services and appreciate having a business address in the US, even during our year in Central America. Now that I am back it is still convenient to have a mailing address for my biz -- so that I can protect my privacy, especially in more public spaces like online. I recommend it! Pros I started using PostScan Mail when I was living abroad with my family and publishing my first book. I looked into various virtual mailboxes and this is the one I chose. Cons The one improvement is that I wish I could have a street address rather than a Personal Mailbox Number (so it wasn't obvious to other people that this is a PO Box). They receive overnight packages but takes them 5 business days to confirm receipt. Then another 5 days to get it forwarded. Pros User interface is pretty intuitive and notifications are reliable. Could do a bit better with request to send snail mail feature, check deposit, and faster truncating/recycling of mail. Pros I like that I can access my mail from anywhere, even while I'm traveling. PostScan Mail also has nice and courteous customer service. Cons \* No service to automatically deposit checks. \* Doesn't offer to send snail mail on your behalf even if you're willing to pay for it. For some mails, you need to respond back via snail mail/postal mail, so a feature where you could either type or upload mail and PostScan Mail would mail it for you would come in handy. \* Takes a lot of time if you request recycling of mail, which clunks up your inbox. Pros It does what it says, opens your email, scans it, and saves digital copies until you read them and decide to have them disposed on, or sent to you. Cons The iPhone functionality is limited almost to the point of uselessness, and the CS team refuses to forward mail to an address I’ve requested, instead forcing me to use the software, which doesn’t work on an iPhone. Also, for reasons unknown, banks and other institutions are told my permanent address is the one used by PostScan, causing endless problems because it isn’t the case. I still own the address where that I have the mail delivered to(from which it is forwarded to postscan). They gave me a stable address that I used for my work. Now, I can manage my work from anywhere in the world while Post Scan Mail is processing my mails and notifying me about the incoming mail. Pros I like the clean interface. It's simple and straightforward once you get it set up. Cons When you forward your mail, and the system asks you to select a carrier, the user experience provides you absolutely NO indication of the costs associated with the various carriers. Not even ranges. I got charged $25 to forward a single letter 10 miles via Priority Mail. Had I actually KNOWN that they were going to charge 300% of list price, I would have opted for First Class. Luckily, with online jobs this is easy - what's not easy is keeping track of mail when you don't really live at your home address. We used to have an account with Earth Class Mail, but a few months back they upped their pricing and I wasn't okay with paying over $50/month just to receive junk mail and the occasional package. PLUS, when it came time to send the mail to myself -- it was over $15 extra just to do so! We HAD to find another solution - and then we stumbled upon PostScan Mail. For $9.95 per month, we got not one but TWO addresses (a PO Box and a street address)! We even filled out and signed the Postal Agreement form online in less than 5 minutes. It was the easiest, best, cheapest solution. I couldn't recommend another online mailbox more! The first time I shipped a package from my virtual mailbox to myself, they called me to make sure it was okay that the shipping charge was slightly higher than originally estimated -- it made me feel like a valued customer! 10/10 would recommend! Pros I like that the service provides an actual address to use for your mail. It keeps the anonymity of where you're actually located. You get an email alert for new mail. It's easy to select to scan the mail for viewing or to recycle it. Once it is scanned it's easy to view and to download or to trash. If I had to choose anything to say I would like to be better is that the scanning process time was quicker. Cons I have been trying to pick up my mail and literally it has become impossible, the address of the business doesn't look like any mail office, i have tried to email them for an appointment and no reply, i have tried to call them and no answer, just a text message they will get back to me with no hope, now they have my mail which i am unable to pick up. Pros It's impossible to get in touch with the location you have your mail forwarded to. After I cancelled my service I never received my mail back, even though I requested it to be mailed to me. Customer service confirmed it would be sent but it's been 2 months and nothing came in the mail. They only have a general number for contact and customer service emails did not help at all, I only received a confirmation they received my request but a month later no explanation where is my mail! I would never use this company again due to lack of basic customer service and no way to contact the location you chose to receive your mail. Pros They work as advertised. Virtual mailbox trumps real mailbox, for many people. Cons In 2018 they changed their mailbox location. Since USPS wouldn't allow you to forward all mail from the old address to the new one, it was necessary to update all senders with the new address -- a daunting task.
