We love it and its made things so much easier here. Pros We are a solar company and it helps to build a client friendly contract. I always feel you get what you pay for and over all it is still a good value. Pros Easy to use and great features. The addition of shading and 3D help. Cons The program is expensive over other options. The Waite time for customer support is now longer. Very hard to customize, data is often wrong, unreliable and crashed often, overall a terrible software. Pros It can work some times. When it does, it is relatively simple to use. I think beginner designers in highly populated areas could use it. Cons This is the most frustrating software I've ever used. Any properties missing their data, the 3D modeling tool gets easily confused and creates monstrosities of designs. A huge bear to get to work accurately unless designing simple homes in well documented areas. New construction? Good luck! Since we offer only Enphase products to our customers, we love the way that Solargraf supports a pure Enphase environment. Pros Product covers full life cycle of the project, from Proposal creation thru the design and permitting. Cons We use the information in Solargraf for post installation customer support. When multiple options were presented to homeowner, Solargraf does not provide a way for us to persist which option the homeowner selected. Note: We prefer not to remove the non-selected options as this provides historical context into what was selected as well as what was provided as an option that was not selected. I'm delighted with it, and I appreciate how quick the customer service is when there is an issue. I also appreciate how Solargraf is open to feedback and quick to make changes. Back in 2019, my team recommended showing different solar design options. Solargraf then made that feature available a few months later! Keep up the good work! Pros I really like how user-friendly it is and that it has a scroll function so all you have to do is open it and everything is on the same page. Please never change that feature. \[sensitive content hidden\] has to click through pages like a book and it's terrible. I would like to be able to add objects to a drawing like making a call out text box to show where the power meter is or where I want a sub panel to be installed. Adding something like that to a design before a customer signs the contract assures that we are all on the same page. Pros Organization of the presentation and proposal Cons Glitchy 3-d bogs down my computers and is difficult to set points on a tablet. Sometimes emailing the presentation from the app goes to spam so I have stopped using this option and instead have to save a pdf and attach it to a new email to be confident it is received. The additional email address never sends to that address (I have call support on this multiple times and their tips never make a difference) Review Source AT Alec T. Solar Sales Consultant Environmental Services Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Has Potential But Don't Bother with Shading/Production Feature" June 29, 2021 4.0 I love Solargraf and using it, but they are failing me when it comes to calculating shade and production. Pros It is easy to make and send proposals to homeowners. The proposals look nice. I genuinely enjoy using Solargraf. Cons HOWEVER the shading software is absolute garbage. It is entirely inaccurate. Solargraf continually passes blame to PV Watts who they get outdated and inaccurate production values from. There is no feature to customize shading/production to each individual site. All you get is a stupid % field where you enter in the "shading percentage" whatever that is. It is subject to user error. "25% shading" can mean a million different things between different users. Yeah they have an option where you can "order a shade report" but it's yet another cop out. Our team uses Solargraf for proposals and then literally has to use Aurora and Helioscope to confirm the production because we just cant rely on Solargraf's production software (or lack thereof). Solargraf--invest in your customers and put together the shading and production software that they actually deserve. Make it so we can show shade from specific trees. They cannot figure out how to design a Solar Ark hybrid inverter with battery back up. It should be simple but 4 revisions later they still have gotten it wrong. I cancelled my service today and am regretting not doing it 6 months ago. Do yourself and your company a favor and stay clear of this flawed and antiquated company. Pros Its easy to use and train you employees to use. Too bad the company is run horribly. Cons The calculations are way off. We use SunPower Eddie to compare and Solargraf was always 10%-20% off. The permit pack is ridiculous. Out of the 75-100 purchased more than half needed revisions. There is no way to contact the design team except through the app which takes days to get a reply. Reason for choosing Solargraf They promised a superior product, but boy they did not even come close to delivering one. Beware of these criminals Pros The software was truly decent at proposals and user friendly. Cons The utility rates are tough in Texas and their software was unable to compute savings on the proposal that is why we canceled our subscription. Sales Manager Renewables & Environment Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Powerful tool with some serious weaknesses" December 24, 2019 4.0 Solargraf is an invaluable tool to present the value of solar to our customers on a daily basis. It houses our install contract language in the terms & conditions (this feature too, could use strengthening) so we have them sign electronically and we're off to the races. I can recommend this tool wholeheartedly because of all the quality it does possess. However, we have started looking at alternatives because there are just too many issues with our contracting process for many lenders to overcome. Pros Easy to use design tool. Excellent sales proposal for presentation to customer. I like the electronic signature feature, the drop-down financing options, and the flow of information from loan options to project timeline. The expandable detail is great too. Customers feel like they can dive in but they have all the necessary information at their fingertips. Panel rotations, and other design updates over last 12 months are terrific. Cons Designers feel like hidden features, buried features, or design quirks are acceptable - rather than deliberate UI systems. Example, we work with 9 lenders. We've entered all those details into Solargraf for the entire sales team to work with but it creates 36 financing options for the customer to choose from - WAY TOO MANY! I asked for an easy way to switch those options on/off and was told that it exists. Yes. We click each option we don't want, click edit, scroll up to the "do not show customer" switch, then scroll down to save the change - 33 times! Designers would not hear that an exposed checkbox to switch visible/invisible would make our lives SO much easier. Frustrating. Pricing issues, specifically with the way the loan is being presented as plagued this software from the beginning. Obscure guessing about the new utility payment with that wild guess being added to the loan payment is frustrating. It's presented in big bold numbers whereas the ACTUAL loan payment we KNOW is less obvious. Would love the ability to model shading from trees or chimneys. Simple negative design objects being placed on the roof or yard with shade being modeled would be a great add. Wish list item. Current shading using Google data is wild and unpredictable. Reason for choosing Solargraf We wanted an all-in-one proposal tool to keep track of our clients. Many other options are simply design tools. The panel tool is easy to add and remove panels this software program is well thought out. Easy for a new agent. Pros The software is the easiest that our team has ever used. The design tool is very easy to use and has proven to be accurate from the air many times. Cons The payments sometimes don't line up exactly. The worst part is that you NEED TO BE ABLE TO CREATE MULTIPLE QUOTES FOR THE SAME CUSTOMER. THERE SHOULD BE A "DUPLICATE THE BID" FEATURE THAT ALLOWS YOU TO KEEP ALL THE BASIC INFO THE SAME, BUT JSUT CHANGE THE PANELS AND THE PRICING. THIS IS THE WORST PART OF THE PROGRAM BY FAR!
