Pros Its cheap, hard to beat free, and you can launch an e-commerce store with little money. Cons Steep learning curve, inventory management is non-existent especially considering options like on Shopify, doesn’t include UPC codes as a default, shipping and coupon settings out of the box are nill, you need a plugin for everything. Adding products in a WordPress website using WooCommerce is really easy. My overall experience is awesome with WooCommerce therefore I love WooCommerce. Pros WooCommerce is one of the best WordPress Plugins that allows you to design and build a beautiful online store. You can add products in that online store website and you can assign them in different categories. You can create coupons for your customers, so they apply the coupons and they get the discount. You can add different payment gateways including cash on delivery. Cons I found never any issue in WooCommerce even when I edit some technical things from the coding. When budget is a issue this my go to solution for for keeping monthly prices down while at the same time producing high quality stores that can compete in the marketplace against paid packages. Pros What I like most about this software is that its completely free unlike other similar solutions on the market. By providing a free solution for creating your e commerce site Woocommerce allows the site owner or developer to allocate their funds to more essential matters like marketing and promoting your site to draw in and gain a wider audience. Similar services on the market require monthly fees just to keep your online shop up and running which over time can prove detrimental to shop owners who are just starting out and may not have generated enough customers to keep the site afloat on its own. This is where woocommerce proves advantages over its competitors. Cons What I like least about this software is that by it not being a all in one solution, unforeseeable expenses may arise. For instance, other similar software packages include domain and website hosting already built in which eliminates the needs for searching and find the right hosting service that will offer the right amount of bandwidth and storage needs for your new shop.This simply isn't the case with Woocomerce where you are responsible for doing that critical research on your own. It's my "go-to" plugin for online shops as well as other systems that require an online purchasing component. Pros I have found Woocommerce to be the easiest, no fuss, no frills e-commerce solution. Its quick to set up and get going and easy for my clients to manage. I also love that there are loads of 3rd party plugins that work with Woocommerce to extend its function beyond just online shops. I have used Woocommerce to set up multi-vendor markets, paid memberships, booking systems etc... It really is a foundation for many different types of applications. Cons I think the only thing I dont like is that the transactional emails are hard to customise and make attractive but there are a number of plugins that you can use to do that. It has Products, Product Categories, order tacking etc all as standard, so you can get started with the basic package. However, to do bundle discounts, vouchers, offers etc, more plug-ins are needed. Cons Plug-in management. To have a sophisticated and professional site you need a lot of additional plug-ins, either from Woo or third-party. These not only come with additional costs, but displays are often clogged with update notifications and various other stuff.
