### "My go-to solution when building eCommerce "

August 30, 2025

4.0

It’s my go-to when building eCommerce websites because its flexibility. Although it requieres experience, it lets you set up almost every type of business that wants online payments. It can be catering services, an organization with member discount, monthly subscription style of service, traffic school, or normal physical product eCommerce website. It’s helpful when the website has very specific requirements.

Pros

When working with woocommerce, there is a lot of flexibility on what you what t your website to be. Whether you are selling virtual or physical products, it’s the best solution for building eCommerce with Wordpress. There is a lot of extra plugins that give great flexibility in all the needs you might encounter depending on the type of business or eCommerce you have.

Cons

It’s not a beginners system. You need to understand how to set it up correctly as there is room to a lot of confusion, specially when it comes to shipping, product variables, payment methods. The plugin does not give all solutions in one, and you need to have experience in setting up the correct way.

Switched from

[Wix](https://www.capterra.com/p/169007/Wix/)

There is much more flexibility for the business needs and the website loading speed is a huge difference. Wordpress/woocommerce loading speed is better and can be fixed. With wix you need to hire someone on their support team to fix loading speed. Also, woocommerce is a free solution. No monthly or yearly costs.

### "Excellent for small to medium sized organisations"

February 13, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with WooCommerce is a positive one for the modest size of our organisation and in-house technical knowledge and experience.

Pros

WooCommerce offers great value for money and a flexible service. It is free to install and you can customise options to your preference. It is easy to use and set up. WooCommerce supports many different payment options and methods, supporting major credit cards, digital wallets, and bank transfers. We have never experienced any payments being declined using WooCommerce which is vital to ensure smooth sales and maximising income.

Cons

To get the best out of WooCommerce and all the features, you do need to get the add on extensions. These are paid for and require some technical expertise to maximise their efficiency and functionality. It works fine for our smaller set-up as we do not require many of these additional features.

### "Very flexible and easy to use"

May 25, 2025

5.0

It has been great. I have been working with WooCommerce for over 10 years. I started using it in school (ICT education), my job and now for my own webshops. I like that fact that for everything there is an additional plugin created by themselves, or 3rd parties.

Pros

The flexibility, huge userbase that makes sure there is almost always a plugin for something you want and the fact that almost any important tool can integrate with it.

Cons

The fact that some features are not standard and you need to buy plugins in order to get these specific features.

Because of integrations. We wanted to connect our prestashop to channeldock which wasn't possible at that time. This was like the 5/6th time we couldn't integrate with external softwares so we had to switch.

More than 50 ecommerces created with this platform about different topics. It's a very reliable platform and easy to maintain

Pros

Very easy to create plugins and customize themes. And the price of this platform is the most competitive.

### "The Best Alternative to the Big Guy"

November 5, 2025

5.0

Pros

A fantastic alternative to the "big guy" competitor, we all know who. Allows for unlimited customizability and much better payment processing. Your website development process will be much better and well wroth the money.

Cons

Not as plug and play as other solutions but far more customizable and better for long term scalability.

### "Powerful Customization when Coupled with Konio WordPress Theme"

December 17, 2025

5.0

The only ecommerce platform I use anymore coupled with the Konio WordPress theme, especially when building stores that need custom functionality. The platform’s flexibility is its biggest strength — you can shape your store exactly how you want it, and the WordPress ecosystem gives you endless options for design and features. It’s powerful, scalable, and ideal for developers or store owners who want full control.

Pros

The biggest advantage of WooCommerce is its flexibility. Because it runs on WordPress, you can customize nearly every part of your store — from design to functionality — using tightly integrated themes such as KonioWP.

Cons

WooCommerce can become complex and plugin‑heavy as your store grows unless you're familiar with the ins and outs of WooCommerce.

### "Does it what we need it to do."

January 13, 2026

3.0

Overall our experience has been positive and I would not hesitate to use WooCommerce again. I would recommend for basic gift shop use.

Pros

WooCommerce work easily with be WordPress website. It is easy to manage inventory. Although customization could be better it does what we need it to do for a reasonable price. The payment options are good, everything we need is offered. We have not used customer support but it has been easy to find the information we need online.

Cons

It would be nice to be able to add some additional options. For example, we would like to be able to mark the order as a gift and include a gift option. I believe there is a way to do this but it is beyond our gift shop capabilities.

### "Innumerable and high-value customization -- with the key of experience"

July 18, 2025

5.0

WooCommerce allowed us to create and develop a subscription based monthly ecommerce club. Our dedicated team of devs was able to introduce literally dozens of subscriber features, with design on both the front and back ends. This level of customization was essentially impossible to achieve using other site builders without amassing excessive additional monthly fees. We were able to integrate several critically important 3rd party apps in order to complete out tech stack.

Pros

Woocommerce allowed us to modify our website, and add all sorts of features with minimal additional costs beyond labor and coding.

Cons

Woocommerce requires a level of familiarity with intermediate coding that not everyone in our organization has.

Plugin che in un attimo trasforma WordPress in un potente e-commerce. Tante personalizzazioni e facilità di uso. Strumento potente con tante risorse per ogni necessità

Pros

### "WooCommerce is fabulous for both technical and non-technical user!"

July 19, 2025

5.0

I was running an e-commerce store on WooCommerce for around 2 years. I'm delighted with WooCommerce, as a technical user.

Pros

It's user-friendly for non-technical users! Anyone can run their e-commerce store using WooCommerce. Although there's certainly learning to do, the information is free and easily accessible.

Cons

I've spent a few minutes thinking of what I dislike, and can't think of one. WooCommerce is all good, at least from my perspective.

### "My favourite plugin to build online stores, flexible eCommerce platform for WordPress. "

January 18, 2026

5.0

Overall it is a powerful eCommerce tool with good value for money, but it requires technical knowledge to manage properly.

Pros

I like the customization options and flexibility for website creation. It supports many payment options and works well with WordPress and Elementor.

Cons

It is not very easy to use at the beginning. Customer support depends a lot on plugins and documentation.

### "Good but Easy to get in over your head Quickly. "

August 22, 2025

3.0

I have set up dozen's of business's WooCommerce sites, from very basic items, to complicated setups and subscription based sites.

Pros

WooCommerce opens up the options for selling items on your WordPress website. It's a great free platform for starting a new online shop, and their payment options allow you accept the most popular payment methods online. The one aspect that WooCommerce outshines Shopify on is SEO and that's primarily because of WordPress.

Cons

WooCommerce can get complicated really fast. From variable product types, to subscriptions, every layer of customization beyond the basic shop settings will lead you to having to purchase a WooCommerce add-on. By the time you purchase the add-ons you need, you're looking at the same cost as running a shopify shop.

### "A good entry level e-commerce solution but struggles when your needs get more complex and requires pricy upgrades. "

July 12, 2025

3.0

It is easy to get something basic up but when you need to get real world implementations that get even slightly complex I feel like Woo falls flat. It is good if you want a very basic e-commerce site. But it struggles when things get a little more complex like with shipping, multi-sizes and colors, etc.

Pros

WooCommerce is kind of the go-to to easily stand up an e-commerce shop on WordPress, so getting a service up quickly is kind of its speciality, but its flaws become apparent quickly.

Cons

Their freemium model is clunky and to get even some basic functionality the bills start piling up quickly. It also struggles to integrate with other inventory systems. Clients I've consulted with using Woo are consistently having inventory syncing problems if they have brick and mortar locations which results in a lot of dissatisfaction.

### "Amazing value with endless customisation and a wonderful community"

March 3, 2025

4.0

WooCommerce is a great platform overall with tons of plugins, integrations and an amazing API. Often, it is thought of as an option for smaller webshops, however, we have managed to scale up to 100,000+ products. This does mean a lot of customisation, architectural service separation and a lot. of API usage but it shows that WooCommerce is more than capable of scaling.

Pros

WooCommerce is a great platform with tons of plugins, integrations and an amazing API. As well as this, it is completely free to use and customise which, considering the vast features, is unbelievably good value compared to other eCommerce platforms. Lastly, the community and support are second to none.

Cons

When scaling a more complex build, WooCommerce can require a lot of customisation and at times can be buggy. Also, the use of the WP database structure serverly limited performance, though much of this is being addressed with the HPOS update WooCommerce are doing.

### "Thousands of products (or) just a couple, Woocommerce got your covered"

February 8, 2025

5.0

Woocommerce and I go a long way! I have seen it grown for many years. In comparison to Magento and others, Woocommerce is the best. Some of the other open source products break things after updates and one would have to rush to fix everything but Woocommerce is stable for the most part. Updates rarely break things if you have considered stable plugins and eco system. For a business, at the end of the day, they want their store up and running with lots of orders incoming. Woocommerce delivers that!

Pros

I like the fact that it is open source and how it let's developers customise the product to any extent. With WordPress as a core, actions and filters, it can be customised to any business needs. I've worked with tens of businesses that have massive product catalogue and it never lets me down.

Cons

Woocommerce has the biggest market share in the world. Despite that, it lacks a basic native feature of inventory logging. While there are plugins available but this should have been shipped by Woocommerce team themselves. After all, native feature get support like no others.

Alternatives considered

[Shopify](https://www.capterra.com/p/83891/Shopify/)

Reason for choosing WooCommerce

Ability to control and customise. While others provide a great service for some use cases, with the limitations, it won't work for all the use cases.

### "Weebly Simplifies Website Management"

September 10, 2025

4.0

WooCommerce lets us manage our merch and extra game content store smoothly. I was able to create product pages, manage inventory, and set up promotions without issues. The integration with WordPress makes content and blog management super smooth, which also helps with our marketing campaigns. Thanks to WooCommerce, we launched flash sales for limited editions and tracked all orders easily it improves the fan experience and saves us a lot of time

Pros

I really like that it integrates with WordPress it clearly simplified how we manage products and inventory. It has tons of extension features to help boost sales.

Cons

Some of its extensions are way too expensive, and for more advanced customization you need some coding, which isn’t easy for beginners.

### "Great tool to build an e-commerce site with Wordpress"

July 17, 2025

4.0

We use it for 75% of our e-commerce clients. This allows them to get into the online shopping space without the recurring monthly fees by using shopify or other online merchant platforms. We use it with all our wordpress e-commerce builds.

Pros

You can cut down on all the most costs by using woocommerce compared to shopify. Great for business now starting off or even if only they have a few products to sell.

Cons

The setup process and integrations / apps are not as easy as Shopify to setup which leads to more development costs upfront.

### "A solution that works for multiple scenarios"

February 4, 2025

I've used WooCommerce on most eCommerces I've worked with, recently on a client website we also got in contact in the support team that was amazing. They helped us with optimizing the website, chosing the right plugins and extensions, chosing the right hosting plan...

Pros

Cons

It can get overwhelming due to the vast amount of extensions so without expertise or support it can be difficult to deploy in non-standard scenarios

It's been great for stores when people purchased on computer but not now. My experience has been disappointing when facing account and email template purchase issues.

Pros

An important point is that it is so easy to use and that anyone can use it and integrate it on their site to manage orders. WooCommerce is the best WordPress plugin for getting transactions.

Cons

### "Works, but tedious"

October 20, 2025

I don't love WooCommerce. It works to support our storefront on the website, but it is a bit tedious and has so many settings that you can really get bogged down in checking them all.

Pros

WooCommerce allows you to integrate your storefront onto your website. It allows for numerous payment options and has many different customization options.

Cons

I think that it is a little tedious to upload and add merchandise. There are often kind of "hidden" settings that affect the the visibility on the website. It syncs stock with Square, but does not always do this accurately either.
