### "The Company to Revolutionise Ecommerce and Online Trading"

November 18, 2022

5.0

Pros

As a web designer, the WooCommerce platform and web plugin have truly revolutionised the process of creating an online store in terms of the ease of setting up and running an online platform, cutting the hassle of designing backend and multiple frontend pages, and eliminating the need to hire an API developer to develop APIs for payment integration customization and flows. Anyone can now set up their own online store.Using WooCommerce today, we are far ahead of the market and have exceeded our deliverables and targets. We have constant access to reports, transactions, and orders; easy payment flow and integration; order tracking, coupon generation; and high-level, personalised customization. The ability to connect multiple payment options to our website using WooCommerce is as easy as ABC.It is always easy to use.

Cons

Some certain features and options are hidden from beginner users; examples include shipping options, add-to-cart redirection, and user registration after purchase. These are not easy to locate for a new beginner.

### "Free to use e-commerce plugin that offers excellency for business at any scale! "

February 23, 2023

4.0

We have been using it for almost 3+ years now for domestic clients for their local stores that brings their identity to digital world. WooCommerce is super easy to setup. It is also free of cost and comes with log of highly integration-friendly plugins to use from. Great community support. I am loving it.

Pros

There are multiple points that I want to put down that I consider as Pro features of WooCommerce.- Large and huge variety of ready-made configurable payment gateways for easy checkout.- Admin can manage, add product, edit category, edit SEO tags and do much more directly from any mobile device.- It provides awesome professional development services also in case when you want to extend your project to enterprise-grade solutions.- It takes nothing to implement the WooCommerce, it free to install and very easy to setup in matter of just 3 clicks, and boom.

Cons

There are so many extensions and plugin available that can turn your product listing website into a full-fledged ecommerce site that can be customized as and when you want, with ease. Try it out. You won't regret it. P.S only con is that it is not a straight-forward publishing. You must have a strong grip on tech stack with WordPress to be able to implement it.

### "Needs more improvements!"

September 6, 2022

4.0

You can build your e-commerce with it. But you have to be extra technical to build it. Needs improvements, definitely.

Pros

First off, WooCommerce is the first choice when it comes to fast e-commerce website. It is CMS-based, offers large library of extension for all and varied e-commerce demands, offers considerable customizability. Knows what the e-commerce industry needs. The thing that I like most about WooCommerce is it's large libraries of extensions. It's less likely that you'll ran out of options when it comes to customizing the function of your store.

Cons

Branding. When you want to customize your store to strictly follow your branding guidelines, this is where WooCommerce falters. There is not much you can do with the checkout page, cart page, thank you page, my account page and all. Extensions tend to be expensive. Even those that have simple functions. Common sense functionalities are not added. It's either you have to install a third-party plugin or buy there own extension, or code it for yourself.

### "Decent Depending on What You Need it For"

July 29, 2021

4.0

It's great for small shops. It works best for simple things, especially affiliate products. Can be cumbersome for growing shops. You need at least some Wordpress experience. Requires a decent amount of maintenance. Overall, I'd give it a 3 out 5 stars.

Pros

Woocommerce is a really inexpensive way to get started with ecommerce. It's great if you're just starting out and on a tight budget since it is a free plugin. It also depends what you're using Woocommerce for. It works the best for affiliate products.

Cons

Although Woocommerce is free, it does help to have some knowledge of Wordpress and basic development skills to effectively use it. Otherwise, using a paid ecommerce software is much easier. I've used Woocommerce for years and it can become very heavy and cumbersome with the more products you add. It's gotten a lot better over the years, but the functionality can still be tricky and you need to install a lot of plugins to customize it to your various needs. Code, plugins, Wordpress, etc., can also easily break your site from updates and conflicts. There's a lot of maintenance that goes into a Wordpress site and that's maximized with Woocommerce. I find other ecommerce software to be much easier to use and be less of a headache, especially for a beginner.

Alternatives considered

[Shopify](https://www.capterra.com/p/83891/Shopify/)

Reason for choosing WooCommerce

Just needed an extremely simple affiliate product ecommerce software. If I was selling a good amount of products or needed something that's extremely easy to use and doesn't require much maintenance, then I'd go with a paid software.

### "WooCommerce Excels in Ecommerce"

July 11, 2022

5.0

I have been using WooCommerce for over ten years. I love the Ecommerce platform. I have tried their competition but always return to WooCommerce. They are always improving and adding plug-ins. My hosting is on Bluehost with WordPress installed as the CMS and WooCommerce as my Ecommerce platform. It's great. The only time I experience any issues is when a server glitches or goes down. I highly recommend WooCommerce as your Ecommerce platform!

Pros

WooCommerce is a highly customizable platform with over 55,000 available plug-ins. The platform is open source as are thousands of the plug-ins. There are also premium plug-ins available. WooCommerce Payments is easy to install and deploy which allows you to receive payment for your products which may be physical or digital. WooCommerce is more customizable then their competition. Once you use this platform you will not want to switch. If you are paying for hosting separately, it only makes sense to use WooCommerce so you are not paying twice.

Cons

The learning curve for WooCommerce requires more effort than their competition, which is why it is more customizable. It is advisable to read the literature available on the WooCommerce website and access their help section for guidance. If you have any coding skills, you will be fine. Your SSL Certificate will not be automatically hooked up. On your hosting account you will need to install that. Also you will need to write your Privacy Policy, Terms of Service, and Return Policy and link to one of your menus. Make sure to add a cookie plugin so you are covered legally in the United States and Europe.

### "Less oversight = good "

August 25, 2022

Well I'm learning a lot about web design and what the world is like having a website that's not a Shopify store. I'm learning a lot so that's what I'm getting out of woocommerce right now. Although it seems like everybody in the world is trying to hack me and all the accounts are a lot to take sometimes, WordPress is the future and woocommerce is a solid program.

Pros

I like that you barely need them and could do most things without, but can choose to utilize their services for a much cheaper fee than many of their competitors.

Cons

Well you have your contract with your hosting company and you have your accounts with WordPress, and domain and then your 50 apps, then your accounts with Amazon, stripe, PayPal and then an account with woo commerce. It's too much at times

Reason for choosing WooCommerce

Trying to learn wordpress and save some money in the process.

### "WooCommerce Review "

March 2, 2023

5.0

Pros

allows to create and manage online stores. One of the things that I like most about WooCommerce is its flexibility and customization options. I can customize the store's design and functionality to suit specific needs and preferences, such as adding custom product fields, adjusting shipping options, or offering promotions and discounts.Another benefit of WooCommerce is its ease of use. with little or no coding experience I can easily set up and manage stores using the intuitive interface and drag-and-drop tools.WooCommerce also offers a wide range of payment and shipping options, including support for popular payment gateways such as PayPal and Stripe. This makes it easy for me to accept payments from customers and manage shipping and delivery options.

Cons

One of the common complaints about WooCommerce is that it can be resource-intensive, which means that it requires a significant amount of server resources to run smoothly. This can lead to slower site speeds or even crashes if the hosting provider is not robust enough.

### "Backbone of our whole online E-commerce Enterprise"

August 12, 2022

5.0

6 year after we set up our business on Woocommerce, we still haven't found any other platform that would help run our shop. Highly recommended!

Pros

We have been using WooCommerce since 6 years now. We had considered a lot of other software but none of them fulfilled our needs like WooCommerce did. - Extremely versatile with a whole lot of customization options. - Plenty plugins, themes and modifications available for free online. - Proven and tested on millions of websites. - Can hold considerable order load without clutter. - Creates all the necessary pages and email templates on a one button click during installation. - Tax options work without additional plugins, haven't seen that in a lot of other big name systems. - The payment options don't take any cut for Woocommerce except the Woocommerce payment plugin. - Has native support for digital products which is what we actually solely sell.

Cons

\- The initial database set up is complicated. If the initial database is misconfigured, the whole installation will fall apart. - Some stuff it generates is too bare, has to be extensively edited to make it look appealing. - We used Elementor for smooth editing and creating our own pages as Woocommerce doesn't really have a good editor. - Need maintenance continuously, or an update will break the whole website. - Some plugins break native functionality as there are simply no "off" buttons for some functions provided by Woocommerce that you wish to replace.

### "Wonders of Woocommerce"

June 2, 2022

4.0

As a developer and marketing agency owner, I was able to increase scalability because woocommerce is open sourced & free to customize for each platform. I began from launching a free store for my brand eCommerce to now hosting multiple websites for many clients.

Pros

The amount of integrations in usefulness this program has is great for any beginning retailer, entrepreneur and storefront website.

Cons

Some features are unlockable and are behind a paywall that's why you end up having to use a CMS platform if you're not able to code/pay your way around certain integrations

### "Best and most widely used WordPress E-Commerce Plugin"

July 30, 2020

5.0

I am really happy with overall experience of using Woo Commerce for online E Commerce store. Free version fulfills most of small startup business requirements.Only hosting domain and other charges are needed to setup your own Business or online store website.Configuration is effortless but may be confusing for a total non tech newbie who use shopify only.Nonetheless after some practice it becomes a piece of cake.It is a much secure platform with helpful plugins to for add-on functionality.I would really recommend it for online E-Commerce store specially which are already running on WordPress CMS.

Pros

First of all it is plugin in word press environment which makes it m first and only choice as the best for making e-commerce functionality website. It has all the functions to run an online store easily with out much technical knowledge.Various plugin supplement and extend the Woo Commerce functionalities even further beyond.Payment processing and order management is handled efficiently and effectively.Too many functionalities like bulk upload, shipping management, contact info, payment management and etc make life easier to much extent like designing forms, creating custom checkout field , shop page custom price filter and minimum or max product quantities...etc.

Cons

Not much user friendly like shopify and other competitor.Still just little practice needed to learn it.Its related add-on plugins can be expensive.I had not faced any major technical issue using it.

Alternatives considered

[Shopify](https://www.capterra.com/p/83891/Shopify/)

Reason for choosing WooCommerce

Because WooCommerce give the independence of choosing a hosting server of your own choice according to budget and performance needs.I had WordPress hosting experience and it operates in this environment as a plugin in which I have experience working.

### "WooCommerce for Downloadable Products and Subscriptions"

December 22, 2021

5.0

WooCommerce is an excellent solution for E-Commerce and can do anything you want it to. That can get overwhelming at times, as there as sooo many options to dig through. But, on the plus side, you can find an add-on or find a plug-in that will solve any issue you have.

Pros

I moved to WooCommerce (from a combination of other plug-ins) because I wanted one platform that I could sell downloads ala carte, and sell subscriptions. I previously used multiple different platforms and solutions to make managing downloads and subscriptions happen, and Woo allows me to manage all products and offerings I have in one place.

Cons

Moving subscriptions from an existing plug-in with active subscriptions through Stripe to WooCommerce was a big process. I did a lot of research and reached out to various developers and was looking at a $4,000 plus custom development support solution to make the transition happen. I did enough research and testing that I was able to make the transition happen over a weekend, without any additional support. In addition to the struggle of transitioning subscriptions, I learned that WooCommerce doesn't use Stripe's "subscription" feature but instead creates a new charge each month, until the customer cancels. So metrics are very difficult.

Reason for choosing WooCommerce

I needed something that would allow me to manage courses and downloads, as well as offering subscriptions. I also needed something that could accept subscriptions via Stripe so that I could transfer existing Stripe subscriptions to the new platform. WooCommerce allowed for that.

June 13, 2023

Pros

When I first got into WordPress and WooCommerce it was my go to recommendation. It’s great for non technical folks, and it can always do anything. There are so many plugins out there to support what you might need.

Cons

It’s so easy to slow down your site and install junk. Many Wordpress/woocommerce “developers” just know the basics. They don’t know how to keep your site secure or fast. So I spend most of my time cleaning up mess. Also, support for plugins is hit or miss. Some have great support. Others do not.

### "My WooCommerce Review "

February 13, 2023

5.0

My experience so far has been satisfactory

Pros

Here are a few of my favorite things about the platform:User-friendly interface: WooCommerce has a simple, intuitive interface that makes it easy to manage my store, even for someone like me who is not particularly tech-savvy.Customizability: The platform offers a wide range of themes and plugins, allowing me to customize my store's appearance and functionality to meet my specific business needs.Robust inventory management: WooCommerce's inventory management system has made it easier for me to keep track of my products and stock levels, saving me time and preventing stock shortages.

Cons

Here are my cons for WooCommerce:Steep learning curve: While the platform is user-friendly, there can be a steep learning curve for those who are new to eCommerce and website building.Performance issues: Depending on the size and complexity of your store, performance issues can arise, such as slow page load times. This can be addressed through optimization and the use of caching plugins, but it may require some technical expertise.Limited customization options with the free version: While WooCommerce offers a wide range of customization options, many of the more advanced features are only available with paid plugins and themes.Limited support options: While WooCommerce provides extensive documentation, those who require additional support may have to pay for premium support services.

### "Still the #1 eCommerce solution for an established WordPress Website"

October 18, 2022

4.0

Generally speaking it is a breeze to work with - both as e-Commerce site developer/builder, Site \*owner\* and also on the front-end as End Consumer too. It does \_not\_ offer the slickest Checkout solution on the market (that plaudit goes to Shopify, sorry folks...) - but for the overall package and native WordPress compatibility, it remains by go-to eCommerce solution.

Pros

Being a native WordPress product and service these days (whilst still operating until the preserved Woo... branding), WooCommerce is without doubt the go-to e-Commerce solution for any WordPress website (one obviously downside (if you can call it that..) being that of course WooCommerce is ONLY available for consideration for WordPress Website owners. Easy to use product inventory management and order processing, there are also a number of free (and paid-for) extensions available to consider bolting-on too.

Cons

At some point in time it became necessary to have an active WooCommere.com account in order to acquire and then update selected extensions. Free, so in theory not a hurdle. However... the tie-up with / ownership by WordPress can sometimes lead to a frustrating tangle - where you are not entirely sure WHICH account you are logged-in to - or indeed whether or not you are able to acquire and/or update some of those official extensions. Very frustrating.. having such an account should be OPTIONAL (but I don't believe it is....).

### " Without coding knowledge best plugin for e-commerce!"

July 27, 2021

4.0

Personally, I realized great experience with WooCommerce. It comes with two different plans one is free and another one is paid. It's a very secure and user-friendly plugin available in the market for WordPress. We can easily integrate any SEO plugins with it, SEO that helps us too much to rank a website. Also, the product adding system of it very easy for admin.

Pros

WooCommerce plugin offers many types of payment gateway all of those are very secure. Also, It's available for free and paid plans to use. To use it just required technical knowledge and WordPress knowledge. It's very easy to set up an eCommerce website, Online Courses, B2B platform, or more. Just need to add it in WordPress. It's integrated into the WordPress theme. And the most amazing point of it is that the community has it worldwide.

Cons

Maybe has some issues are in WooCommerce. But I cannot found any issue to dislike WooCommerce. It's easy for a non-technical person, not required any coding to create an online shop. Also, many free and paid plugins are available to add new features.

### "Good eCommerce solution if you have a good developer on your team"

September 6, 2022

4.0

I'm fortunate to have a great web developer to handle any customization or trouble-shooting I need for my store. Being a pretty strong Wordpress user, this software was even a bit hard to use for me at first. Once a store is set-up properly, it is reliable for the most part. Just be careful of updates and integrations - make sure you test it regularly so that you don't lose sales. Otherwise, I would recommend this for your online store.

Pros

There are countless integrations that can be bought or used for free which give a lot of additional capabilities. With a good developer to help you, you can do pretty much anything you want on your store. Getting started for free is a pro, but if you really want customization, you need the pro version and paid plugins.

Cons

It can be cumbersome for non-technical users. It requires a technical expert to set-up or customize and is not easy for a basic user. Edits and updates can be a pain and if one integration breaks, it can impact a sale.

[Duda](https://www.capterra.com/p/134280/DudaMobile/)[Shopify](https://www.capterra.com/p/83891/Shopify/)

Reason for choosing WooCommerce

It doesn't require a monthly subscription like Shopify and has a better user and shopper interface than Duda.

### "An excellent choice for newbies"

April 22, 2022

5.0

Overall I have and continue to use this software on some of my websites as well some for my clients. It has been a great addition since having an eCommerce platform on a website without having to purchase additional software is fantastic. Since the free version of WooCommerce is pretty much all you need to get started. It is usually the additional functionality for extra features is what requires the add ins and or additional plugins.

Pros

This software for WordPress sites to create an eCommerce store is great for newbies and the free version comes with enough features to create a pretty robust store. There are however other integrations required to take the store to another level. This may be things like being able to create a wish-list, add dropshiping products or simply have a popup cart. The point is all of this can be done with additional plugins that are free to use with WooCommerce free version, you can have a great looking eCommerce site that looks and runs very efficiently without spending a ton of money to get started. Being able to integrate drop shipping allows you to have a full store without spending any money on your inventory and without having to incur monthly costs for having the site.

Cons

Some of their best features require add ins that can get to be very expensive when you start looking at all the great features they can add to your store. There are other free and paid options but as with most software, it is better to use the ones built by the software makers rather than ones created by others. Simply put, sometimes basic updates can create conflicts between the software on your site and leave you puzzled with why your site is not working the way it was. This can get to be an issue if you are new to the game and don't know how to troubleshoot your website issues.
