### "WooCommerce: Not the easiest to setup, but by far the most customizable"

November 17, 2022

5.0

Before implementing WooCommerce, we were always "making do" with the solutions that other platforms would offer. A lot of times this felt that we were not only rationalizing/making excuses for those platforms' limitations, but we were overall just settling for a less than ideal fix. WooCommerce has allowed us to offer the complete online shopping experience that we've been striving to deliver to our clients.

Pros

After having used many other eCommerce platforms in the past (Square, Shopify, Wix etc...), I am left blown away by how completely customizable WooCommerce is. There is literally nothing that can not be done with this software - it's just a matter of figuring out how to get there. You want different shipping tables based on user IP location? No problem. Looking to have suggested items displayed depending on the purchase order? You got it! The one downside to WooCommerce is figuring out how to correctly dial in the settings to achieve the desired result. This can take a bit of time, but luckily WooCommerce's documentation and online tutorials are extremely helpful and plentiful. After having experienced the limitations of many other eCom "solutions" it truly is refreshing to have an option as robust as WooCommerce.

Cons

As I mentioned above, dialing in the correct settings can be a bit laborious, but if you are patient and willing to do a little bit of research, there really is no limitation to what you can build.

### "Best e-commerce store development platform"

December 2, 2022

4.0

Being an e-commerce website developer, I always prefer using WooCommerce for most of my clients because of the tons of offering it has. It only takes few hours to complete the setup of your online store. From creating your product catalogue to manager orders, everything is super easy and smooth in WooCommerce. The inventory management, shipping management and collection of payment for every order is also too easy. Since there are too many plugins available in the market for every add-on feature so scope of enhancing the store features is also great.

Pros

WooCommerce is one of the best options available in the market if you are looking for an e-commerce store for your business. It allows the store to add their products, products categories, product options and product description with price. The super smooth shopping experience using AJAX shopping cart and a simple checkout page boost the chances of conversion. The flexibility to add any payment gateway to collect payments also adds up to WooCommerce features. Addition of more features to a WooCommerce based store is also too easy as it could be achieved through different free or paid plugins.

Cons

WooCommerce is a robust platform which offers everything which an e-commerce store needs to operate smoothly but there is surely some scope of improvement in loading of product pages. WooCommerce aslo needs to push the limit of maximum number of products in its free package.

### "An Easy to Use Ecommerce website builder"

December 29, 2019

5.0

I used Woocommerce to build my ecommerce website. It was easy to do unlike starting from scratch to build the website. Also I didn't have to pay website developers to build the website for me. It could have costed me a whole lot of money had I outsourced it to website developers.

Pros

Woocommerce is an ecommerce plugin built for WordPress. To be able to use Woocommerce one must install WordPress first. Just like the parent software (WordPress), Woocommerce is very commendable. The things I like about Woocommerce include the following: 1. Free to use: Just like WordPress, Woocommerce is free to use, though one may need to purchase some premium plugins to add some features that may not be available in free plugins. Cost was a major factor for me when I was making the choice of a platform to use for my ecommerce website, and Woocommerce was the best fit for me. 2. Support network: Woocommerce have a huge user base. There are online and offline communities where one can easily get solution to problems. 3. Ease Of Us: Woocommerce is very easy to use compared to some other ecommerce website builders I've checked out. One only have to install compatible themes and plugins to get started. It is a drag and drop ecommerce website builder, and need no technical skills to get started. 4. Security: Woocommerce websites are secure. The plugin witnesses regular updates to keep it secured. 5. Dedicated Dashboard: Woocommerce have a dedicated dashboard where one can see the performance of the website, like the number of sales, and the amount of sales. This is beautiful as I get to see how my business is going without much ado.

Cons

One of the issues I had with Woocommerce was the learning curve. Though it's easy to use after one is done learning it, but the learning curve wasn't very easy for me. After the initial stage of learning though, it became very easy to use. Also with Woocommerce, I had to be updating the server myself unlike with Shopify. Shopify maintains the server. Shopify handles the technicalities. Another issue was the need to buy an SSL encryption. With Shopify, this wasn't an issue for me, as Shopify takes care of that.

### "Best eCommerce for WordPress hands-down, but prepare to pay for most customizations"

September 16, 2018

4.0

Pros

When it comes to choosing the right eCommerce platform for WordPress, it's the most rock-solid, safest choice for any long term use based on my experience from over a dozen store launches. - The plugin is frequently updated, compatible and tightly integrated with WordPress (as WooCommerce was purchased by WordPress' parent company in 2015) - The core WooCommerce plugin is freely available to install, which would work for many small, generic storefronts. - Offers the largest selection of third-party plugins/extensions available for WordPress ecommerce. - Wide out-of-the-box support with popular third-party WordPress themes. - Relatively easy and fast to set up, with good documentation; offers a few free starter themes via the WooCommerce store. - If you're willing to pay, WooCommerce can do just about anything and integrates with almost anything. - The WooCommerce core plugin is built mostly barebones (using extensions to add functionality), which brings better speed and less bugs. - Good customer service support and detailed documentation for their paid WooCommerce add-on extensions. - Offers very powerful Zapier support (requires a paid add-on). I've never had any point where I've considered using another online store platform with WordPress, or even one of the many non-WordPress hosted ecommerce website subscription solutions.

Cons

\- WooCommerce extensions are surprisingly expensive and also subscription-based, requiring an annual fee. Inexpensive third-party alternatives exist, but there is risk involved. - Building an extended "platform" such as a membership site / offering subscriptions (for example) can require multiple paid WooCommerce add-ons that rack up hundreds of dollars in annual fees. - WooCommerce mobile app tools do exist, but do not offer much functionality beyond sales reports. - Highly customized WordPress stores using a lot of plugins are at an increased risk to see major conflicts and performance degradation, and troubleshooting can be difficult.

### "Expand your eCommerce horizons"

July 12, 2020

5.0

Overall, I would rate 8/10 for a smooth e-commerce experience WooCommerce offers.

Pros

Whenever you hear the word e-Commerce, it brings to your mind about buying and selling items from a web platform. But, WooCommerce has easily expanded the definition by providing flexibility to expand the eCommerce usage towards more industries. Other than tangible goods, services also can utilize WooCommerce conveniently with a few customizations or with a few side-kick plugins (Plugins that help extend WooCommerce functionality). For instance, if you run a delivery service, you can let your customers can place their delivery through the WooCommerce-based website, calculate the payment based on the distance and then pay for it online. Likewise, many other industries that provide services can utilize WooCommerce as their virtual store. Especially at a pandemic time, people rely on online platforms to fulfill their needs. They use online platforms not only to order tangible products, but also to pay for services. WooCommerce has a very easy to use user interface that is self-explanatory even for a non-technical person. WooCommerce support multiple languages, so you can set it up according to the language you utilize. If you can read and understand the language, it's just matter of time to set up your own eCommerce system.

Cons

Out of the box, WooCommerce supports sale of products and services. But to expand it to a more powerful and customized one, you need to rely on 3rd party plugins that help you expand the requirement. Some 3rd party plugins go abandoned / outdated - which might cause the functionality of the customization you've done.

### "Fastest way to build an online store that you fully owned."

May 22, 2022

4.0

Woocommerce is our go-to platform for clients that want to set up their store fast and want to give a smooth user experience to their customers. We have not encountered any major issues at all.

Pros

WooCommerce is a very powerful plugin. It allows you to create an online store easily, with the minimum amount of code and effort necessary. WooCommerce has been around for years, making it one of the most popular e-commerce plugins available on WordPress. I love how easy it is to set up your shop in a few clicks and make changes to any aspect of your store at any time without having to manually go through each page or file individually!

Cons

The feature updates are not that constant. But if the basic functions are good for you, then you're in the right place.

### "Affordable ecommerce platform"

January 6, 2024

5.0

Overall it's good. There are quite a few compromises (ease of use, inventory tracking) but if you need to run an ecommerce store on a small budget, this is a great option.

Pros

It's a great entry point platform, given its open source and free to start using.

Cons

The user interface can be improved and made easier to use. Given the free nature of the app, it's also likely to attract small solo business users who may not be tech savvy, so it could do with more work on the UI front. Secondly, for an ecommerce tool, it should really have better inventory management features built in.

### "Build a free online store"

December 11, 2022

4.0

Pros

WooCommerce is the open source (aka FREE) e-commerce plugin made for Wordpress. If you don't want to pay a monthly fee to run your online store, building a free Wordpress website with WooCommerce is the way to go. Most free Wordpress themes come with WooCommerce functionality these days. And you can always add more relevant plugins to enhance your WooCommerce features. One big advantage is that you can download - and therefore own - your entire Wordpress website, which you can't do with a website builder (e.g. Squarespace, Shopify, Wix, etc.).

Cons

Putting together a WooCommerce-enabled Wordpress website is more technical than simply signing up to a website builder such as Shopify or Squarespace. If you're hosting the Wordpress site on your own server, you'll need to purchase an SSL certificate to make your website secure for online payments too.

### "WooCommerce review"

March 26, 2023

4.0

Pros

One of the best things about WooCommerce is its versatility. It can be used to create an online store for any type of business, from a small home-based business to a large enterprise store. It is also incredibly user-friendly, with a straightforward and intuitive interface that even complete beginners can quickly learn. Additionally, it integrates with a wide variety of payment gateways, shipping providers, and other services, making it easy to customize the platform to meet the specific needs of a business. Finally, WooCommerce is open-source, meaning that it is free to use and can be customized with plugins and themes to create a unique and powerful online store. All of these features make WooCommerce an excellent choice for anyone looking to create an online store.

Cons

One of the things I like least about WooCommerce is the lack of features compared to other e-commerce platforms. While WooCommerce is a great platform to get started with, it lacks features that more established e-commerce platforms have. For example, it does not have a built-in inventory tracking system, which is a key feature for many businesses. Additionally, WooCommerce does not offer the ability to customize product pages, which can be a limitation for businesses that have a large number of products.

### "An e-commerce dinosaur"

February 10, 2023

5.0

Pros

Installing it and keeping it updated is extremely easy because it is found on any hosting that runs WordPress; there are many third party extensions in the Marketplace to add any functionality required, a Google search helps to find the required extension and lately several payment platforms have plugins to install it and you can use it with WooCommerce.

Cons

Some extensions or add-ons are expensive and have no trial version and in some cases are developed for a specific version of woocommerce.Adding products manually is tedious, but luckily there are templates to upload products, but they are very complicated to fill in until you do trial and error, it uses its own ID which does not allow you to edit it or understand how to configure it if you need to integrate with any CRM.

### "Turn your Wordpress sites into stores with WooCommerce!"

September 28, 2023

5.0

I used WooCommerce to set up my second e-commerce store. (https://www.fawnandmoose.com) The first one was done using Shopify which took a similar amount of time but was very frustrating. Woo worked great. A few days later, our website became a fully functioning store! We've since added a store to Instagram and Facebook connected to our site.

Pros

The tutorials and support make setting up your e-commerce store relatively easy. But don't just SKIP over the details. Take time. Read carefully and follow the steps exactly.

Cons

It can be complicated due to all that it does. You need to read instructions carefully and follow the steps exactly to avoid getting lost.

Alternatives considered

Reason for choosing WooCommerce

I had tried a dropship store with Shopify previosuly and found the interface a hassle. Shopify also employs its own unique code which is different than HTML/CSS. I chose WooCommerce because its made by bthe same company that makes WordPress and so I thought it'd be a more seamless experience and less likely to have incompatabilities.

### "One of the Best E-commerce Solutions"

October 7, 2022

5.0

WooCommerce has a lot of pros and cons. As soon as the plugin is installed, setting up an e-commerce store is a breeze. It is almost free (except hosting) and fast to set up a decent looking e-commerce website. However, the WordPress admin interface can become very messy and cumbersome when more plugins are being added to spruce up the website. Some of the plugins would appear inside WooCommerce while others outside, making maintenance tedious and confusing for beginners. Furthermore, many plugins needed for basic functions (eg. Google feed, SEO) required paid subscriptions. Many needed third party plugins can conflict with each other, hence bringing down the performance of WooCommerce and the overall website.

Pros

\- Easy to use - Free (no fees) - Great catalog system - Great shopping cart - Great customization based on needs - Compatible with most popular plugins

Cons

\- Can be confusing for beginners to have to use WooCommerce together with WordPress, such as in building a product menu which is not built automatically as with other platforms (eg. Shopify) - Can slow down a website because WooCommerce is itself a plugin - Online product editing can be slow and tedious - No in-built SEO without using another plugin - Poor Google Core Web Vitals for mobile which is essential for good search page result ranking - The search bar is a pain to use

### "The Best WordPress Plugin For Beginners"

October 26, 2022

5.0

What I liked most about using Woocomerce is that it's a basic stanrdard tool if you're selling digital products and you can also offer discounts to your customers. If you want to sell physical products from your website, you need additional plugins that cost you more money.

Pros

Woocommerce is a WordPress plugin that is free to use. It is basic and standard and you can easily integrate it with the WordPress content marketing system to sell digital products.

Cons

Although the Woocommerce plugin is cheap to install initially, the price of hosting increases as your store grows. This has an impact on price as it becomes more expensive to run compared to other stores such as Shopify. The only payment gateway that you can easily integrate is Paypal and if you need other payment gateways, you have to install other plugins that may be expensive.

### "The formula of success and ease of use."

October 24, 2020

Back in the day, I was always attracted by that GURUS online promoting other platforms (Never knew that they were affiliates). I used other platforms for 1 month and it was really expansive, all the plugins are extremely expansive or they charge a commission/ Sale. Then I discover WOOCOMMERCE easier, more control over the hosting and servers unlike Shopify (They can shut you down anytime they want without giving an ounce of explanations), and more artistic designing the websites From my point of view, WooCommerce can be described as Legit, Genuine, Beautiful, Educational never had any trouble ever since I started building websites it was always a +++ Income IT'S 5 STARS

Pros

WooCommerce it's beyond simple, I've personally been using this software for years (I even lost count) it has unlimited features: -Connected to WordPress -No more struggling for creating an eCommerce website, Online Courses, B2B platform, or more. -It's simple just a drag & drop system no need for expertise or development skills. -Best Worldwide Ecom platform and money saver, unlike others. -Have more control over the servers and hosting -The WooCommerce Community is everywhere around social media platforms and never struggle to complete a task. - It's FREE TO USE and NO COMMISSION -Multiple Plugins FREE

With WooCommerce, I simply and easily create e-commerce websites for my clients; they are satisfied with them. Personally, I think WooCommerce is more for small businesses, but everyone has their own opinion. One thing is certain, he is very efficient in his field.

Pros

It's the e-commerce platform I use for my clients (I'm not very good at coding). WooCommerce has become a benchmark in this area. Easy to install and configure, you can design and launch a business website in no time. With the plugins, you can add different services such as payment by card, or by Paypal. If you don't like (or don't know how to) code like me, and you need to put an e-commerce site online, look no further, WooCommerce will do just fine

Cons

\- Just like its host, WordPress, it is not very flexible- it happens that we need several plugins to make changes, which often causes delays or even bugs- Sometimes, to get the result you want, you have to make the changes directly in the source code

### "Gestione semplice di un e-commerce "

April 2, 2023

### "One of the best solution for independent eCommerce owners "

August 11, 2022

Overall, this is the best in class premium ecommerce plugin for WordPress lovers. It's seamless in terms of order management, payment gateway and SEO based features. I would not recommend it if you have a pretty much budget for your product or have large order volumes, else it's expensive for you.

Pros

I loved their interface, which makes it the best option for a new business person to put their store online with very little hassle. I have even tried their inventory management option, where I can upload my products in bulk using excel or any other medium. Also, I can accept and integrate any internation currency payment gateway, which is just brilliant for a businessman to expand their ecommerce store.

Cons

Many times you need coding knowledge makes things more specialized as website became unusable and requires upgrade, and I need to put lots of money to make it work. Even add-ons are very expensive, which makes it a more premium option if you have lots of margins in your sells.
