Overall Surepay provided all the necessary platforms and features that will suffice for smaller companies.

Pros

I enjoyed the dedicated portal for all accounts. It also allowed us to view all previous stubs and download w2 forms as needed from mobile.

Cons

Not much I didn't like about Surepayroll.Perhaps sometimes the logging-in procedure was a bit hard due to the security authentication feature.

Surepayroll has amazing customer support. You don't have a dedicated specialist, but no matter who you get it's great. In over 5 years I have used Surepayroll I have never had an issue with my federal or state filings. Payroll is easy to run and check for errors. After previous experience with Quickbooks and recently with Paycor, Surepayroll is definitely the superior product as far as running payrolls and staying compliant with the IRS goes.

Pros

SurePayroll was exactly what our operation was looking for: Ease, Simplicity and Functional. It also helps that we very rarely need any customer service assistance. The online portal is easy to use and pretty straightforward in that even a beginner in the world of Payroll can figure it out and learn it in no time!

Cons

We don't always need the service depending on how revenue is coming in and so it would be nice to pause the service during the periods when it is not needed rather than continue to be charged the monthly fee.

I am using Sure Payroll for 3 months and happy with Surepayroll. I was very frustrated with my previous payroll company (Axx), now I am happy switching to Sure Payroll. Highly recommend to everyone!

Report has manual setup to get. If it can be automated monthly email to the customer, it would be helpful.

Frustrated with the set up & security check process. When call customer service, called&talked to 3 different departments, and still couldn’t get things set up correctly. Like accounting, banking, and customer service are not communicating and not knowing their own policy. The worst part is: they keep saying the problem is solved, but it happened again & again!

I love the fact that if someone loses their W2 for taxes or needs copies of their W2s or paystubs it's literally at their fingertips. There's no waiting to hear back from an accountant. As long as you have your user name and password, you're good to go.

Pros

I like the fact that everything is done online and there's really no need for phone communication unless there's a problem. I get it done fast, and all tax info is right at my fingertips and there's no waiting for your accountant to get back to you on that information.

Cons

I honestly feel that there is no improvement needed. I know no one is perfect, but this company truly knows what they are doing. Their software is so easy to use and very convenient. This can be done anywhere!

Overall the product is great. Good platform and so easy to use but what happened recently with them not answering the phone can't happen again or I would go to another payroll company.

Pros

The product is user friendly and handles all your payroll needs.

Cons

The customer service. I got locked out of my account and tried reaching someone for 2 days. I stayed on hold one day for 54 minutes and 45 minutes the same day and the next day i stayed on hold for 1 hour and 45 minutes. No one answered. I had to reach out to a contact I had for another SurePayroll product and she was able to solve it. I cannot believe that no one answered.

### "Easy, Peasy with SurePayroll"

My experience has been great, and when I've needed customer service they have been helpful. However, recently I had to get Cust. Ser to fix something regarding payment of a tax that is no longer a valid tax in the state. I believe that I sent whatever notification I received about our payroll taxes to them. I was not aware of this, but our CPA pointed it out while they were doing the monthly books. I think that Sure Payroll screwed up and they gladly said they would do what was needed to get the money refunded. They FAILED to tell me that that service would cost $200.00. My refund was only $126.00. I would have skipped it... or done the refiling myself. All of a sudden I see a $200 deduction from our checking account from them. I called and was told why and offered no explanation as to why I wasn't told. I'm sure it's in the terms and stuff... but I really think this misfiling was their fault. Anyway, that is my major complaint.

Pros

Set up was extremely easy. Sure Payroll did every thing for me, practically. Using the software every other week is simple and when I want to add something, it is relatively easy to do. I highly recommend it and it is a very good value.

Cons

Some of the terminology is a bit confusing, but I have no real complaints.

### "Definitely recommend SurePayroll"

Pros

We chose SurePayroll because we opened a second location in another state and the service we were using at that time could not handle multiple states. SurePayroll is easy to use, efficient, handles employees in multiple states, has great customer service, and is cost effective. It was also easy to set up when changing from another company. On those few occasions I had a question, SurePayroll was easy to contact and quickly resolved my questions. I've used both telephone support and live chat, and both were great. I would definitely recommend SurePayroll!

Cons

No cons. We've been using the software for almost 2 years, and have been very happy with both the software and the customer service.

I used Surepayroll in 2022 and recently heard from the IRS that Surepayroll hasn't submitted my tax dollars. I am now chasing/begging Surepayroll to help locate the missing money.

I'm extremely happy with my choice for payroll. The cost was about the lowest I saw for our organization but it provides options and features that much more expensive software didn't have.

Pros

\[sensitive content hidden\] was extremely helpful in getting everything set up for my client. He has continued to keep in touch to make sure I am getting everything that I need. Super customer service! The software is easy to use and allows quite a bit of flexibility. There are tons of features that I don't even use but it could handle much larger and complex organizations that what I am working with.

Cons

The location of some of the reporting on the webpage took a little bit to figure out and I still have to go searching a bit. Using the software to get payroll in was easy and straightforward. The reports afterwards not so straightforward.

Overall I would say that I am very satisfied with my experience with the service SurePayroll provides. The monthly fee is a little high for a very small business. I would suggest they drop the rates a little for business with under 3-5 employees.

Pros

We utilize SurePayroll to help with all the technical aspects of making sure our business is up to date with all the various payroll taxes associated with our state and federal requirements. Being a first time small business owner I was concerned if I was meeting all the various tax payment requirements and SurePayroll now allows me to focus on running the business day to day without being worried if I've missed any of the various payments required with running payroll. I love the peace of mind knowing that SurePayroll has me covered if anything does get overlooked, too.

Cons

The fact that I need to validate my computer ever single time I access the website even though I check the box that states: "remember this device" when I sign-in to the website.

### "IF YOU LOVE HIDDEN FEES"

they have relatively easy to use UI and nothing else

Cons

After being with the service for 2 years. They incorrectly filed my taxes 3 times in that time period. Which I didn't cause any issue for the service even though it caused 3 months of headache. Then this year I received $545 in fees which consisted of "expedited payroll", "cancel payroll", and "returned direct deposits". I asked for a refund on the only $150 worth of "returned direct deposits" and was told no. So if you love a company who has horrible customer service, messes up your taxes, and then charges you fees....pick this one!!!

I am so sorry I ever switched from Paychex to Surepayroll. The software is fine and user-friendly, but if you ever need customer service, you can count on a 45 minute wait on the phone, no follow up calls or emails on issues, possible trouble with the IRS from lack of follow up on tax issues. Customer service reps are friendly once you reach them, but that doesn't help when I am getting "late" tax notices from he government for bills that should have been paid by Surepayroll. I'm ready to find another company.

Pros

I like the software, as long as I don't need assistance.

Cons

The button to "exempt from SUI" when entering employee information is automatically set to yes. Although this was an oversight on my part, I think it should be set to "no", and the administrator should have to click yes. This mistake ended up costing me $2700. And I have been trying to resolve it with customer service since January.

### "Terrible customer service, old tech"

Easy to process a normal payroll with no deviations

Cons

You are required to use two-factor authentication every time you login, and the system is slow in recognizing the numbers as you type them. It gives you the option to "remember me" except this option doesn't work. A customer service rep told me that they didn't build this into the software, my browser offers it, except it's clearly designed with the same UI as their system. Additionally, you cannot do a password reset from the app, you must do it from a computer. And you can't copy/paste your temporary password, you have to type it...such weird and archaic usability. Customer service is as TERRIBLE as everyone else has said. Minimum 40 minutes on hold even when you get a call back. My employee has been completely unable to login to the system for over a month, and tech support cannot pinpoint the problem. Customer service says they will escalate, and a week later I receive an email that says the exact same trite steps as they provide everyone on the first troubleshooting call.

I just needed a payroll system ... I didn't believe all the hoops I would have to jump through.

Cons

1 - I travel a LOT. So I want to do payroll on the plane. HA. They need to send a text verification ... try that while at altitude. 2 - Auto generated reminders can NOT be turned off. HIGHLY annoying to get them 3x per week. 3 - Adding employees? Can't do a partial add ... has to be complete. Let's say you are missing the direct deposit info on a new employee ... to get past the screen? Have to check "manual check." Then? You can still enter all the payroll. BUT ... when you then get the DD info? It wipes out the payroll info for the period - not just the employee in question but ALL employees. ROYAL PITA to use.

Excellent.

Pros

What do you say about a product that just works. This is the simplest, most straight-forward payroll software with which I have ever worked. Once you have entered all of the required information your off and running with out a hitch. If you need customized deductions just add them. SurePayroll is proactive with reminders concerning processing cutoffs, holiday's, etc. that could affect your processing or direct deposits. Customer Service is a short call away and has always been knowledgeable and efficient at solving my problems.

Cons

If there has ever been a Con to working with SurePayroll, I have long since forgotten about it. The only Con would be if they took it away from me.

### "Good and Bad"

Pros

Lets employees know that they received their monies and they can access their information themselves. Processes the quarterly taxes quickly and so far correctly. Great and competitive pricing.

Cons

Operates on percentages so if a employee works in more than one department, you have to use a percent and the payroll taxes are not the exact amount for the general ledger. Customer service is sometimes slow to respond. Does not respond on new state changes very quick. I had to ask 3 times and I had to get the new information changes for them. I have to enter the department worked in each week. The software does not remember from previous week.

### "Taken advantage of in natural disaster "

Unnecessarily Stressful & disappointing. I have been in the Hospitality Industry for over 35 years. You cannot give customer service without a willingness to be helpful. It’s that simple.

Pros

I was a satisfied customer of Sure Payroll. When a natural disaster struck my town and shut down my business they took advantage of me. They have continued to charge me for an account that I was told would be closed. They filed false reports with the IRS. The most passive aggressive and condescending customer service rep. Told me that I would have to “dealt with it on my own”. She did not help me close my account. I have not be spoken to that way while asking for help in a long time.

Cons

Customer service. One of the worst experiences I have had. Very stressful when dealing with something sensitive like the IRS.

Absolutely, positively, miserable. I wouldn't use this company if they were the last company on the planet that offered payroll services.

Pros

Nothing. They provide nothing beyond what other services provide.

Cons

We signed up and used the service for a few months, then needed to make a switch to another service for technical reasons. It took us 29 emails and 14 phone calls to cancel the service. They couldn't care less about customers that desire to cancel. On the other hand, if you're thinking of singing up you will receive a phone call and/or email within minutes. But....if you want to cancel, be prepared. Canceling is about as difficult as disarming a nuclear bomb. They do EVERYTHING within their power to prevent you from canceling, including disabling the ability to cancel from within your account, refusing to return your calls and emails, hanging up on you, transferring you to a deadline, and requiring you to jump through countless hoops. I estimate their onboarding process is 100 times easier than their offboarding process, which they couldn't give two shits about.

I would highly recommend it to any business operation of any size. It has been an affordable and highly functional resource for us.

Pros

Inexpensive to set up and highly functional features to address the needs of small, medium or large scale operations.

Cons

Our experience so far has been extraordinary. We have been using the system for about 3 months and the utility has been extraordinary. Customer service and support has been outstanding. I am yet to have a complaint.
