Accelo

## What is Accelo?

Accelo's project management connects delivery directly to profitability so project managers always know where a project stands financially, not just operationally. Create projects from templates or won opportunities, assign resources based on availability and skills, and track progress against scope and budget in real time. AI-predicted completion dates flag projects trending toward delays before deadlines are missed. What sets Accelo apart is the financial layer built into every project. As hours are logged, budgets update automatically. When scope expands, Accelo alerts the team before the overrun is locked in. When a project closes, invoices generate from approved time — not from memory. Projects delivered on time, on scope, and on budget with profitability data your finance team can use.

Pros

It's convenient and easy to set up for the most part. You can get going once you have an idea on how you want to use the product.

Cons

It has a lot of constraints, sometimes it feels like it's more restrictive that it has to be and doesn't offer a lot of customization. Also, some parts feel abandoned, the billing modules are not very good, and it feels like they have been on v4 forever where this new version and old version co-exist.

I'm happy for the most part. It does the job, pretty straight forward and the customer support team is really responsive.

Pros

Creating project plan, booking team members, Gmail integration, search functionality (but not the inboxes), triggers, customer support.

Cons

The search functionality on inboxes, that we're not able to covert an email to a task, that there's no direct way to create a change order inside a project, only one field for website (company info), there's no separation between billable and non-billable work in the insights tab.

I'm just a user, not the administrator who set up and manages our instance, so I only have experience as a user. I regularly track emails, phone calls, tickets, etc., and that all works fine.

Pros

Accelo makes it easy to track customer engagement and support; from opportunity to sale, then tracking products, projects, services, tickets, and assets. Invoicing is flexible and easily links to Quickbooks online. One feature we find especially useful is the ability to see all activity ("stream") for any item (contact, company, project, ticket, etc.) or for our entire firm. The stream includes everything that has happened such as emails, calls, timers, etc.

Cons

The stream is slow to update with new entries, and conversations are often listed several times in the wrong order. Managing my inbox in Accelo, and also separately in Outlook is a lot of work. I'm not sure the answer for this problem, but perhaps filing the emails in Outlook into an "Imported into Accelo" folder would work? Using the global search for a company often results in a lot of results for tickets, projects, etc. first, rather than the company record, which is usually what I'm searching for. A knowledgebase where we can store information, especially for common support issues would be useful.

Easy to use, and a really powerful tool to manage more than just projects and time tracking. It's an 'all in one' kind of tool to prevent you needing more.

Pros

Accelo has become one of the integral cogs in our team. We all use it daily and it helps to power projects and information seamlessly while remaining secure.

Cons

The user interface isn't necessarily as 'fancy' as some of it's competitors. But you can't fault it's functionality and that outweighs the cons for me.

We used harvest for time tracking, which worked great. But Accelo just offers a lot more.

A mixed bag for sure, but we haven't found anything that can fully replace it for our team. It's still the best solution for our agency.

Pros

Accelo gives our team a great high-level view of all clients, times tracking and assets for various projects. The UI can be improved a lot, but the options for customizations are endless. Our primary use is the time tracking functions.

Cons

It's really difficult to go back and find a good total of all past work done on an account. Tasks and projects are too siloed and it's hard to put all of the pieces together.

We love Accelo but for our small business it was too expensive. Time tracking, templates + client correspondence was incredible.

Cons

It was too expensive and hard to set up. A lot of features created a frustrated team. .
